#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 26 2003 at 6:07 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is definately real, Jimmybob (or similar name cant remember off hand) has one on Xev, but wtf he is a rogue! lol...i guess he wanted it just to say he could have one.

There is a message board for Plane of Mischief located at:
Some of the information from it is collected at

This is definitely a real weapon. The Proc was reported as a purely graphical thing - looks like a firebolt.

And in case you're wondering, at the message boards we thought it was fake as well to start with, as many, many broken blamsticks have dropped, which have race:none.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 21 2002 at 11:27 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have my doubts.
RE: Is this weapon for real?
# Jul 30 2002 at 6:36 AM Rating: Default
Yes, this weapon is real. However I do not have proof.

Too bad enchanters or wizards can't use it, I don't play one but it must suck to be running around through a low lvl zone and get attacked by a greenie and the only way they can kill it is to blow a bunch of mana (.

For a Cleric/Druid

Root mob

Attack on

BLAM !!!

Back up and sit down (med) for 3.5 seconds

Stand up when attack is available again

Close to melee and attack on

BLAM !!!

Repeat ....

But seriously, I am a monk and this is a monk weapon ;P

Equip this in main and something else slow in offhand, maybe Stave of Shielding 17/28

Need someone to root the mob or be able to move out of melee range of the mob and let it agro on other PC/s.

Attack mob with 1HBs and Flying Kick // Immediately move out of melee range until timer is recycled // Engage the mob again.

You are likely to take anywhere from three-quarters to a half of the damage that you would normally take from a mob if you were just going toe-to-toe while still doing reasonable (actually probably better than reasonable - BLAM) damage to it. Similar principle to what is used in jousting during PvP.

Have not tried it myself and may never do it either as it is quite a specialised manevour (needs someone else to root the mob so no soloing this trick) but it sounds like fun.

Or better yet just stick this in your hand when you are pulling a bunch of little things for a raid, when you return to group kick in the whirlwind disc and riposte everything with this and then FD to let tanks pick agro up. Heehee, that would output quite a bit of damage on the little things that need to be cleared quickly (especially with a few AA in the riposte skills, flying kick riposte etc).

Hey brother, I suggest you just feign death while you wait for your attack to recycle.

er wow
# Jan 26 2002 at 6:28 PM Rating: Default
This is pretty heavy with misconceptions or I wouldnt bother. Might be cool if it went in the offhand. Pretty sure even a lammy is better with the primary bonus going off twice as often, double the chance to double attack etc. Maybe the damage bonus is worth it /shrug. However the priest class use blows my mind. Yeah itd be a good greenie killer thats about it. With the max skill of a 35 melee(175 1hb 2hb) and the combat skills/stats of a 5 paladin(love you guys dont get me wrong) you cant hit the broad side of a barn. At 58 it still takes me 5 minutes to kill a green frog in guk with a 27 48 that procs, only reason I can melee them is they cant hit me either. Ranger only hits for mid 20s about 10 times as often. I dont even carry a weapon when we fight anything that isnt green. I can only imagine what our tanks/enc would say if I hit a mob on purpose they were trying to taunt off or mez. It takes me no more than a minute(more like 30 secs) to med for one of my ultra powerful cleric nukes. I'll be lucky to get more than 2 good shots in during that time with shissar if the mob isnt about 30 or lower gaining somewhere near a fifth of the damage. However, the druids that assist heal and keep the chanter me or the MA alive are invaluable on raids, let alone other things they can do ie nuke, cure, buff, make absolutely sure the mobs snared so we dont all die. It may be fun, and I'm all for that, but its mainly a toy unless perhaps its good for bards with no double attack.

If you have monk epic and a cloak of flames doesn't that make the haste 76% when epic is activated?

# Dec 29 2001 at 9:22 PM Rating: Default
This weapon would be great if you was wearing a cloak of flames with 60% haste :)
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 26 2002 at 4:48 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Cloak of Flames is 36% haste. There are NO items in game that give 60% haste. None. N O N E. None.

I don't think that's what he meant. I think he meant Cloak of Flames PLUS a 60% haste spell cast on you.
RE: slow
# Jul 16 2002 at 2:26 PM Rating: Default
You know what would be even cooler? If you used a 64 or 66 percent haste spell instead for even more haste/damage! :P
simple, really

the REASON we priests aren't sitting back medding is because if a mob is BEATING on us then we can't, and we need something to fend said mob off with since we don't get a pet (druid charms, which are useless, and shaman wolves, which are right next to that, being the exception), plus how many mobs are immune to being smacked? Only clerics and necroes, and then only for a short while. Plus it's fun to hit for 100+ with a priest, makes you feel all warm and squishy inside, especially since at about 15 we hit for maybe 15ish and the mobs hit US for 30-50...

Plus, on the PoH raid we just did yesterday, I was main healer in a ranger group with my druid, and oh darn, they weren't taking any damage and I was FM... was fun to brag to the rangers that I was hitting for high 30s with a druid while they were spamming away for mid 20s 8 )

Now I agree, that should this drop, monks and other melees are first for loots on this, as they ARE better at meleeing, but for Pete's sake, if the thing is rotting 'cause no one else wants it, you can bet my happy priest **** is looting it, and I have one of each priest class that would LOVE this little puppy about, oh, NOW.

Don't say the a priest is stupid for wielding this, EVER. I would deal more damage with this and an FBSS than I would nuking with my druid and then medding the mana back. Casters deal more damage in an instant than melees, but in the long run, even WE deal more damage in a long, drawn out fight, if our melee skills are high and we beat on it with a good weapon. Trust me on this, I've done the math, I would deal more damage with this and an FBSS if I were to include the downtime from medding. Plus we have situations like my PoH experience.

And of course, there is the occasion when we just don't feel like spending 250 mana to nuke that greenie goblin that just attacked us because we were sitting down... it's just fun to kill those goblins again and go back to your newbie days when you still got exp for them and bit your gums cause you couldn't hit the stupid thing.

But what do I know, I just speak from experience and mathematical equations...

While I don't want to jump into the what class gets what thing...

Are you mad?

Tanks hate casters that do this more than anything else in the game. Stand on the incoming call... This is just a given. Don't hit the mob at all if you do get agro. Hitting them just keeps agro on you for that much longer. I bet you start running around in WIDE circles too when you think you might die... Sheesh.

So while you are standing up like a stud and bashing said mob instead of medding, what do you tell the wiped out raid that asks why you had no mana to patch heal. No wonder druids arent popular in raids...Or tell the wiped out group that screams EVAC! No wonder peeps dont like druids... The only time I melee is when I'm soloing and mob is trying to run away thru snare, then it usually doesnt matter how long you swing at it :)

He said his Group did not get aggro = damage and he was full mana... what shall he do? Summon Food? With a Druid wielding this weapon you never get aggro on a PoH Raid, if you do... well... things went bad I guess.
How do you get one of these

monk...what do i win?
Damn good weapon...
# Sep 22 2001 at 11:45 PM Rating: Default
not for primary tanks whose job it is to tank, but for secondaries, like a monk or bard...

High delays = low taunt. I used an Efreeti War Spear with my bard for 70+ dmg hits and NEVER aggro'd on raids.

Its an ideal weapon for those who are expected to do melee damage and not outtaunt the meatshields.
