focused etheral is not only weapons... i got a focused etheral earring in SS as well, and actually i use it, pretty nice.
I wouldnt count on it being part of a focus item quest like someone said above... its just a type of SS junk loot like Laoch,

I had one of these given to my level 5 wizard as he was walking around kelethin..so i hung on to it for another 7 levels, just because it was a decent weapon for a newbie..still not that great though. Ended up selling it to someone for 20pp.
Not really worth it, but if i had one now, id just find a newbie and give it to em.

My money says it's a part of an upcoming caster focus quest, thus the "focused" in the title. I'd keep it if I were any of you that found it.
Um, no. All the weapons that drop off the yard trash in Skyshrine are called focused ethereal. It's basically yet another version of fine steel, except they added minor stats so it's slightly better. Just like Velium weapons.

Go kill Lockjaw and get a Glowing Wooden Crook, or get a Velium Great Staff in the 10-20pp range, because it's a lousy risk/reward ratio for this. A Level 10 Cleric part-timer can be better equipped for 30pp...
it looks ok but it has the dmg of a 1HB and as a wis caster useing a 2HB is pretty useless anyway. my suggestion go out and find a 1HB with the same stats it will probably have less delay for the same DMG.
