I turned in 3 individual black marbles, and 1 unadorned chain bp and got no response/reward. Unlesss i for some hellish reason i gave black pearls ... i doubt it though !!
OMG people do you play this game? I have never post on this web page before but i had to make an account just so i could set you all straight. One fungi tunic=crap! Maybe before lvl 58 it might be nice but once you get CH all you do is canni down to 1 bubble of health then CH you will regan your mana in mins. Also losing all those stats just for regan hurts you more then being able to regan. Whats the point of being able to use canni and regan if you dont have crap for mana in the first place. Just get good mana items along with wis. I know wis is not the most important thing here because after you go over 200 Wis you only get 3 mana per wis but get good mana items after you get a little over 200. Also everyone wants to say the Vindi BP is the best for shamans well i have the Vindi and its ok got good HP but after you get well over 200 sta the 15sta only adds 45HP then you got the what is it 100HP? Also the regan on it is only 2 per tick, its nice but when i switch my Tae Ew chain tunic on and off with the Vindi it only gives me and extra 75 HP but i lose a 105 mana so im caught using canni alot more then if i just kept my Tae Ew on. Now the Tae Ew tunic is better then this SS one because it has 8sta and 50HP a little more then the SS one and 10 to all saves and 45AC and its a hell of alot easier and/or cheeper to get. Granted the SS BP has more wis/mana but like me being lvl 65 with 54AAs im pretty good on wis/mana now. But peeps please start thinging about it if you are so worried about getting regan that you lose most of your mana then you have to canni all the time the point is to not have to canni i can be in a fast pulling group in PoTatics and never have to use canni untill i have to fully buff everyone and even then i dont "have to". I use canni just for when im on raids useing buffs alot and when i come to a point when i need mana quick and im out we arnt suposed to be using canni ever second of our lives. But i would say after getting about 230wis or so go for as many HP/AC items you can get without taking away your mana. BTW i got 265wis 5031HP fully buffed 1100AC AA regan and incase you forgot our 20hp a tick regan buff!!
I have seen the AC vs Resist arguement over and over. Both sides have valid points, but consider this. In Plane of Valor, one of my favorite hunting grounds, there are Golems that both hit hard and have a mean proc. After soloing these, it is hard to agree wholeheartedly with either side. Both AC and resists are of equal importance. If you need wisdom at this stage of the game, waste some aa on it.This is the BP im shooting for until i can get the Vindicator.
Although many can and will argue over what is the best BP for Shamans at any given level, I, for one, am glad to have finally won a roll last night for the SS BP.
Sure there's other BPs with comparable and also better all around stats, but the SS BP is quite a boon for this 55 Shaman who's still wearing a Bloodstained Tunic. Ugh!
The AC alone makes up all the difference in the world for me. I'm willing to trade wisdom at this point because I have nearly maxed my wisdom out but remain with low AC.
Now I'm finally making some headway in resolving this grave oversight on my part.
Adding this BP to my ******* is not only giving me 30 extra AC, but it's also giving me 6 more stamina, as well as 11 more wisdom, which WILL max my wisdom.
Pay heed to those who say that AC is a major factor in the high end game for Shamans. They know what they're talking about.
Those mobs in HoT hit HARD!!!
When a mob takes umbrage for the fact that you've debuffed and slowed it, you'll be thankful to have all the AC you can muster.
Personally I'm not going to be satisfied until my AC reaches 1000 unbuffed.
And the fact that the BP allows me to cast unlimited Riotous Health on a raid saves me beaucoup mana.
I know there are better BPs, marginally or not, but I'm quite happy to have this super upgrade for myself.
Remember, these boards are here to allow us to help each other with hard earned knowledge. Not to back bite and snipe at one another.
It's okay to disagree with someone's opinion, but that doesn't make your opinion any more valid in their own mind. Most of us learn by trial of fire. Sometimes that's the only way.
Under level 60 shaman without Torpor should first off want regen items like Ceremonial Iksar BP, Fungi Tunic, and Moss Covered Staff (extra mana free regen = more mana). Then you can cannabilize for faster mana regen. Then you want to work your armor class. Slow is a big taunter and more AC means less damage to you. After these first two things are taken care of then consider wisdom.
My shaman is level 60 without max wisdom. But my buffed AC is 1041. Once you get to level 60 and get torpor and cann4 you'll never be out of mana again. I cann4 down to 2 bubs of health and use Torpor to fill all the way back up to full.
So the best breast plate for shaman that aren't level 60 yet is the Fungi Tunic.
lol that is a dumb way to go,,im lvl 58 and have 1051ac buffed with Tae Ew tunic. Wis is at 220ish(245 with VoQ and bear form) now depending on primary,,no problems here. I think you all get hyped up over nothing..telling ppl to get this and that..nonsense. just buy the best items you can afford that have good overall stats. good OVERALL stats is the key..after 200 wis raw mana isnt bad or replace them with focus gear you might need or FT items etc..if you know how to play a shaman then you know how to control agro..like ALL classes. as a shaman your onnly gonna get so much ac..same as any chain wearer about. and if you dont know how to control agro at higher lvl then you are screwed either way..when a mob is smacking you for 4-600+ pts your a gonner..period. if you look for good overall items they usualy have good ac anyways. If you look for stuff that looks cool on you only then forget it
UMM, Ever heard of root? Sure a mob may smack me for 400 to 600 hp's. But I am by no means a gonner when that happen's. Just root mob back away and let pet gain aggro, until the tank can come over to that mob..... As to wether a shaman is about wis is debateable. Shamans can canni so mana can come quickly, but then having a large mana pool means less canniing. With a maxxed wis I can canni 4 down to 80 regen up to 100 canni to 80 regen to 100 canni to 80 repeat repeat repeat and never run out of mana. Only time I run short on mana is on raids when I am the only shammy buffin 3 or 4 groups.
As a Shaman myself, I enjoy this BP. Why is that BP the best one? The effect, the AC (which is really important to shamans, especially when Iksars, yea, I tank in ToV =)~) And of course, HP/mana combo that everyone seek at high level. Please stop talk about wis, every post 50 shamans have 230 wis at least already. The 4 to all resist is kind of crap tho, as the best shaman BP, I would love a 10 to all resists, like on my scaled heirophant BP.. but full set look kick *** on Iksar, only reason I wanted those wolf callers.
230+ Wis?? LOL.. Right.. 52 Shammy here with 193 wis. Maybe once I get the Shield of Bane Warding and get lucky on a few drops in a raid (not..) I might get into that range. But sincerely doubt will get to 230 pre 60. I was running less than 150 wisdom until mid 40s. During the 40's I worked hard to get all the ingrediants for arctic wyvern armour (which I am still wearing for the most part).

You must hang out with some really high level friends because I agree, I am level 54 with 204 WIS and I know many shaman level 55+ and they don't really have 230. Perhaps its cuz we go for the other armor which gives more AC/mana/hp as well. I am going for my Fungal tunic in Fungus Grove since its large races only my chances are purty good. Laterz
Erm.. Not really.. I'm trying damn hard to get my WIS up, buying everything I can, and my wis has yet to break 160 (level 40). My base wis was 80, yes, I know it's low, and don't ask what I put my points in.. Don't say things like "every post 50 shaman has 230+wis" when I know that I'll probably never hit 200 wis; If I do, it'll be with epic, chanter buffs, and one hell of a lot of Skyshrine armor. ;P
Best shaman bp in the game. I'm not talkin best ac/wis. This bp is the best bp in the game for shaman because it has 4 to all resists on top of the insane stats. Resists are just as important as ac / wisdom at higher lvls where mob's spells become less and less resistable.
Some people judge the click effect on the velious bps but I have to say to those people, 'You've never buffed a raid of 40 people or so that demand RH every 72 minutes. Sure it ain't no clickable focus of spirit, or clickable voice of the berserker, but it still helps a lot. If I ever got full skyshrine armor I bet I could outduel any oracle in full kael, simply from resists.
Not hardly or even remotely the best shaman usable BP. The Chestplate of Vindication is better than this by a long shot, and thats just one example. Anyone who needs the wisdom from this and thinks thats what makes this better needs to get better gear.
There's also some much better chest items usable by shamans that drop in Temple of Veeshan north wing. Yes, the Riotous Health is a great effect, but it is also on Thurgadin and Plane of Growth breastplates - if your guild is capable of getting unadorned chain, they're certainly capable of doing kael or PoG to get those.
Thurgadin prettier?....lemme told ya. Thurgadin graphic is just...rygorr armor graphic. Wolf callers that you think is green, is in fact rygorr but blue, not green. Green is Kael armors, rygorr, but green.
IMO, what type of velious quest armor you wear is dependant on your class, i mean a shaman may not benefit from the higher ac on the bp, but a warrior sure would. My advice is, if youre a melee class go with kael armor, if youre a caster go with skyshrine
Next time you look at an early/mid 50s Shaman and see he's wearing JB Armor you may wonder, why does he have armor on with Inferior buffs? It's BECAUSE we need AC.. The Arms, Boots, Helm, and Gaunts are all AC 18, though the buffs inside were for the most part old news by the time you can click em. If all I wanted was Wis, I'd be wearing Gator Legs and EBoots, hehehe -Horaxe Dreamwalker 54th Shaman Tarrew Marr PS the saves are pretty nice too, since raids are about all that's left once you are high enough level to get this stuff:P
It's not always as simple as what will benefit you the most even. (and I happen to think the AC would be put to use on a shaman, slowing tends to make shaman well known in the zone when the mobs keep shouting out there names, hehe) It often comes down to what your guilds faction is. If they are on Kael, guess what..you probably will be as well. Either Kael or SS is really nice for shamans, imagine most wouldn't mind either.
Most Shamans I've met have said Regen, AC, and HP help more after they get around 150-180ish wisdom, since they're never full mana and have to chain cannibalize and have high-aggro debuffs.
Hmm I play a 56 shaman and I can definatly use the AC. Ever notice how much of a taunt slowing is? Most shammies that dont like dying a lot go for high AC items when they get around 190-200 wis cause we get wailed on a lot.
Riotous Health is a level 54 shaman spell, adds +50 Stamina, which is plus varying amounts of HP on different classes (3 hp / sta for shamans for example)
this looks like a dark bluish-green rygorr battle mail. all skyshrine chain armor looks like rygorr on rangers/rogues/shamans, with different color hue.
Compare the stats and I think the Skyshrine and Kael BPs are very close, but both are much better than the Thurgadin (and both are much harder to get). All three have the same effect of riotous health. I would give the edge to the Skyshrine one for the better stat buffs, more mana and resists. The 5 AC on the Kael helps, but not quite enough IMHO. But I would take any of these in a second.
I assume that similar comparisons on other armor pieces would have the same results.
Thurg Kael Skyshrine AC 37 48 43 STR 3 4 6 STA 6 6 6 AGI 3 4 6 DEX 3 6 6 INT 0 0 0 WIS 14 15 15 CHA 0 0 0 HP 0 40 0 Mana 80 70 90 SVM 0 0 4 SVP 0 0 4 SVD 0 0 4 SVC 0 0 4 SVF 0 0 4
I noticed on your comparison of SS, Kael, and Thurg BPs that you have 0 for hp for the SS BP. The SS BP has +45hp, not 0hp. Just wanted to correct the oversite.
The AC on this is almost as much as a warrior's 50 quest bp. And I think it's more then sk and pally...
I was told that Kael was easier and better then Skyshrine.. but this shows that Skyshrine may be worth the difficulties.. Can anyone tell me the stats on the Skyshrine warrior bp if it's completed? Thanks.
Kolder Winterborn 24th seasoned Warrior o' the North
The warrior bp from kael is 59ac, the skysrhine bp is 54. The SK and paladin bp from Kael is 54, and the bp from Skyshrine is 50ac I believe. I could be abit off on those, but they're all 50+ ac.
