I am an agnostic gnome and I'm just apprensive to everything in the outpost even the Dragoons, and no I'm not a necro (enchanter, but dont have to use any illusions) =)
The information concerning 1 charge is false. I just got this hammer and I have already used the same hammer twice and it proced twice. Also in the description it does NOT give the amount of charges. the picture above must be old.
You are correct, it is no longer a charged item. I've lost count of how many times this has made my life really easy... such as a free port out of PoH when its late at night and no caster wants to take me ;)

The item procs at 50 and it is not an effect (right click) It is a proc, and you can use it as many times as you want.. Just pick a greenie and start swinging. It has a pretty good proc percentage and transports you to the bottom of the boat that the skellies are working on in the shipyard.
I got the hammer at lvl 38, and I noticed that it has only one charge. Is it an infinite proc ie you can cast it is often as you desire, or is it a one time deal, ie cast, then destroy it so you can get another with a charge?

I've turned in a bunch of the whips, and I'm now amiable. But I'm also a Rogue who uses the the "Mask of the Deceiver". I'm assuming if I dropped the mask effect I'd still be KOS just for being a halfling.
So anyone know if you can turn in enough whips (I'm already way amiable in Dark Elf form) to overcome my racial hatred? I'd love to get the hammer, but since I'd lose the MOTD effect upon zoning, it would be a very dangerous zone in.
BTW, I'm also agnostic...so no religous problems to worry about.
not sure if this is true for halflings but as an agnostic gnome i could just walk into the OT without any trouble, started with amiable faction too. with my troll i started with apprehensive, mixed up world isn't it :)
ever tried walking in, targetting v'deers or something, walking out of the outpost, click off the illusion, then test if you're kos? or does the mask not work like that?
As a rogue, you can't just turn off the spell. You can however, sneak/hide in your natural form, target the foreman, sneak away, unhide, unsneak, and then /con.
There was a patch not *too* long ago that allows us bard/rogue types to click-off the illusion effect...among other stacked effects. No more waiting half a day or having to sing disenchant on myself.
So yes, you may use the Illus:DE, walk up and target, walk away and click-off Illus to check your faction. I do this in many different zones to see if I get along better as a hate girl or a tree dweller. =P
I have the hammer, and think its a great item.I have one problem with it though.Im Kos with the outpost, but arent worried about the undead worker, who will attack when I gate in.I have Jboots, and can run away with levitate on the water. But sometimes a dragoon will join in the fun.And thats no fun for me. :( .My question is this:Is there some special EQ time when its safe to hammer in,so the dragoons wont be at the gate point? Some help to the people who hasnt got the hammer yet.You can group up with someone who has NON Kos faction with the outpost, and let them give the braids to Rottgrim. You will then get better faction, just as they will. When you have amiable faction, give a jade to the undead foreman at the shipyard at the water, and he will give you the hammer.Be sure to have a free space in inventory,or a container which can hold giant sized items.Hope this helps out... :)
This is a NODROP Hammer. It is also a "Giant" sized item and will not fit in most containers besides a Bag of the Tinkerers or some trade skill containers (Large Sewing Kit for one).
What does this mean to you? LOTS. If you are one of those lazy "Right-Click" Looters, you ARE going to LOSE this hammer. If you right-click it when all your slots are full and you don't have a Giant sized container with an empty slot, this item will go into your inventory, the game sees that you have no slots available, and the item falls to the ground.
We all know what happens when NODROP items touch the ground don't we? Yes, they get DELETED! And you know what? GM's DON'T reimburse for DROPPED ITEMS. You ask "How can I drop a NODROP item?" Well, "NODROP" doesn't means its not capable of being dropped. It just means that you cannot VOLUNTARILY drop or give it away to another player, just an NPC.
So, if you have this Hammer, DO NOT RIGHT-CLICK LOOT IT! If you lose it by doing this, you WON'T get reimbursed. The GM's will investigate the item logs, see that it fell to the ground and was deleted and tell you "Sorry, no reimbursals for dropped items. Go quest for another one. What? Your faction is now ruined in Overthere? Sorry, but that was your own choice."
u must be one very stupid person . for one its a quest . two its only cost a little jade to get .3 we no what no drop means. 4 if you were so dumb as not to have a slot open at lvl 50 when u do this quest and get it i pity u lol
i'm pretty sure what he meant was, if you have this item in your inventory when you die, and you don't have a space available when you're looting your corpse.
ok i just got this yesterday and i noticed there was not a nuber for charges on mine but in the picture on this page it says 1 charge ?? can anybody explain this only thing i can think of is that i'm not lvl 50 yet
Yes, it equips just fine. We have 0 skill, but it works. Tried mine out. Still don't proc though. I thought the level 50 thing was a joke at first. Bah.
Ive had this hammer since lvl 34 even though it doesnt proc till 50 but it has saved my *** in many different situations. Just last week I fell to the bottom of Velks lab into the dispell trap with multiple mobs. There is no way out of this area except to gate, get CoH'd or die and get corpse summoned. Since I am a 56 warrior I cant gate..but wait..I just pulled out my hammer and finnaly proced it with 2 bubs of health left. Just one of the many times this item has saved me from a nasty CR. BTW it IS a proc and Im glad it is...cant be interupted this way..THIS OWNZ for non casters...Period
I dont mind waiting till 50 to use it, but exactly WHERE does it gate you to? Once you start hunting in some of the Kunark Dungeons, you will ruin your faction in the outpost, so if it gates you there, its' no good.
Excellent advice. However, I'm reliably informed by friends that the faction hits in Karnors and Kaesora are not crippling, so after dungeon raiding in Kunark, be sure to go farm some braids and get faction back up.
This hammer will port you right on top the boat that the workers are creating in the OT Outpost. If you want to use this hammer, you best not ruin your faction, or be an ace with FD ( not a monk, then you are stuck with option one ).

For one its not a waste of money because you cant buy one. Also it means no more begging for a ride to kunark, which in it self makes it worth alot. When you think about it, its a GREAT item. Expecially in zone like Ol' Sebilis where you cant exit the zone you came in from. For casters the solution is simple, just gate. But melee's need to make it to the exit zone...not with this just duel a caster and nail them till it procs and BAM! You are out of the dungoun. It says one charge but its an error, its actually a proc.
be sure to have a large bag or the hammer will disappear. mine did the first time. a friend who did the quest suggested the large bag. i freeded up a space in my tinkers bag and it worked. you give the forman 2 jades and he will give you the hammer. faction must be at least amiable. can't wait till 50 now :)
Not large, Giant. So a tinkers bag (as you say above) would have space, but a backpack wouldn't. A spit would also have space. You only have to hand in one jade, as well
