sorry but you are wrong there is still a dmg bonus it.

Only the classes that can use the weapon can see the Dmg Bonus. Which is most likely why You don't see it.
the price is right
# Sep 07 2005 at 10:00 AM Rating: Decent
I must of ran into a steal the other day on The Nameless, cause I only paid 10 plat for this thing. I got it for my SK to lvl up his 2h slash and its a beast on the dmg department. I'm not to impressed with the delay, and my lvl isn't high enough for the proc so I can't remark on that. All in all though I think I couldn't of done any better on the price and I recommend this sword if anyone can find it at a decent price.

I bought one on Zebux server at the bazaar for about 190pp. Use it on pally alt, pretty nice wep.

I have this sword and lent it to a 31 warrior he was hitting consistently over 90 and peaking without critical at 110.

Its a slow sword but when hit you remain that way.

Wow level 12 hitting for 57 hp. Sorry but that just can't happen. At level 12, the DAMAGE CAP will make max hit work out to about 38 with 255 str.

Next time you make up a story, check your facts first.

Around the beginning of 2004, the damage cap for 2h weapons was broken, as in not-there. Coincidentially this was the time where all the Berserkers ran around and leveled. ;)

This is my baby for my 33 War. Just the other day was in a LDoN adventure at did a double attack/crit combo. Crited for 202 and the second slash was for 107. 309 in total for one attack. I love this sword.
Nice weap
# Sep 02 2003 at 4:43 AM Rating: Default
Well, I think this is a nice weap for those who cannot dual wield. But that generates a problem: te proc on this weap is aggro generating, so it wouldn't be as good as an argent protector, for example. Also, it only procs at lvl 46, which is kinda inconvient, because at lvl 46 there should be quite better weaps that you can buy.

sup all,

i have a 19 warrior who i have using dual wield. hes does about 25dmg a slash and has dual wield & double attack. when i use my ykesha (which i got off this cool ranger in kunark, no im not a twink)
i only deal about 30 a slash.

should i keep working with 2hs or use my 1hs

thanks
RE: whats better?
# Feb 03 2003 at 10:32 PM Rating: Default
The damage you're seeing with the 2 hander is in direct correlation to your level. When you hit...level 21 I think your damage table changes. What this means is that the minimum and maximum amount of damage you do with a 1 or 2 hander will go up as your level goes up. What most people don't know is that even for dual wielding classes a good 2 hander is better than dual wielding up until about level 45 or so. The reason being is that pre-45 your dual wielding skill is too low to effectively dual wield 2 swords.

Lets compare...

Sword of XXX
20dmg 40dly
1 hand slash

Big Sword of ZZZ
40dmg 40dly
2 hand slash

Now just looking at the above you would think DWing XXX would equal ZZZ since DWing XXX would theoretically put you at 40dmg 40dly. Well what you have to remember is that the offhand misses a lot until you raise your DW skill.

Kinda confusing but just remember that a comparable 2 hander will always outdamage DW 1 hander until you get proficient enough in DWing.

I dont fully aggree with your advice. I think your mathmatics are fine, I would not really know. But a few counter points.

1. AC - As a younger warrior one of the best things you can do is get yourself a good shield. Characters under 10 that use a 1HS are not going to be duel weilding. If you have the cash to buy this you can probably get, even something simple like a Velium Round shield. Weight 0.5 15 AC...

2. Delay and Skillset. You are going to swing half as often. This means you are going to skill up much slower, as a twinked Melee, your can cripple your own skills. In an odd way doing insane damage early on, starts bitting you in the butt. Because around 10 you cant hit anything, and you have a monster delay. I think since your capped at 20 (when under 10) you may as well swing as often as you can, with a weapon ratio - combined with Strength that will give you about the same damage.

I have been using an "Ornate miners pic" Its like 12/30 (but yes, I have a "Darkedged two hander" that I DO love...)

And how will he ever gain skill in duel weild without practicing it, it ALWAYS harder later on in the game. Whipping out that weapon on a mob with 15% health, running to get skills.

3. Proc ... I know this sells way cheap, but it also does not proc untill 46. *IF* you have a ton of cash, get that sword that procs at lvl 1. A crypt keepers sword? or something. Its like a 50 some point proc at lvl 1.

I am just saying with damage caps and all, Id rather use my Darkedged two hander, if your talking price. Sure this is great. I mean this weapon is a dream. The augments are nice too. STRG and INT (Nice for a SK)

Just something to Concider. Also concider your Class. As a Ranger they have some really nice 2 handers, but id rather skill up in 1hs, because of the duel weild, double attack. You should concider that also. Pally and SK its all good. But War should try to use many weapons and Ranger should focus on 1hs mostly.

I just picked this up in bazaar as a birthday treat to myself. I love it. At lvl 36 I don't have the proc but I see that it will proc a lot more than 3 time per fight. My DEX is at 107 and this thing is trying to proc about every 3rd to 4th swing. I can't wait until lvl 46.

On Terris right now looking at it for a total of 80p (lowest) and I think about 220 is highest.

On a side note i dont think id want that much agro on my ranger and Id seriously be missing out on the duel weild / double attacks. I mean hell, if you rely on procks I have 2 Frozen sky Wazazash and they are an 80 point prock.... they are only 6/22 but im just saying if you wanted prock.

Oh well, it's still an awesome wpn, at level 23 i am consistently hittin for minimum 60, average 70 at max 85. Even crippled for 182, was kinda pleased about that.

I guess i shouldn't be that depressed, just got the new SCHWs the other day for 2k =P so that makes up for this. With SCHWs it isn't too slow, i can still keep taunt.

My HiE Pally was merely in his 13th season and was paged by a Crusader to come to the Bank at Freeport.

The kind Crusader gave him the Throneblade, amongst other incredible items.

Now I know, I have at least 30 more seasons to go before I can use this weapon to it's full potential, being in my 15th season now.

I enjoy the damage, I am hitting for 30pts per blow. Was only doing about 10 - 12 w/ my longsword. I think however, I will need to switch back to the Long sword and shield, and put this puppy in the bank, till I can use it right. . .
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 27 2002 at 5:21 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It has nothing to do with seasons, why do people refer to them as that? Hell, I'd have only 8 "seasons" if it had anything to do with that (a year and a half of playing), instead I have 60 LEVELS.

Why worry over trivialities, but since you asked...

sea*son (se'zen), n. 1. one of the four periods of the year (spring, summer, autumn, and winter), beginning astronomically at an equinox or solstice, but geographically at different dates in different climates.

(I assume this is the definition you are referring to, in which case you would be 6 "seasons" having played a year and a half, but how many "seasons" is the character you are playing? 60 Levels in a year and a half of his "life"? I doubt it.=)

Other definitions of season:

7. any period of time: in the season of my youth (or first level perhaps?)
16. to mature, ripen, or condition by exposure to suitible conditions or treatment: a writer seasoned by experience (or perhaps a monk seasoned by exposure to hardship?)
19. to become hardened: troops seasoned by battle (or perhaps a warrior seasoned by battle?)

It would seem that "season" is a perfectly good expression to the amount of experience one has obtained. Why be so caught up in leveling, and lose the flavor of the roleplaying experience? My shaman actually "levels" by achieving his next "circle" of advancement. Thus he is currently in his 40th "circle". My shadow knight has recently earned his 18th "skull". My monk has barely passed his 11th "discipline". And my lowliest of lowlies... my warrior has succeeded in his 7th "season".

Lighten up, use your imagination, and for goodness sake... HAVE FUN !

Bravo, bravo my fine shamman. Some of us prefer to roleplay, and by using the term season (a period of learning) it may take us away from the non-roleplaying idea of levels. It is my opinion, that I spent 32 seasons of 7 circles with my druid...not that i obtained lvl 32. I thank you for the wonderful post!

Why refer to levels at all while IC? My paladin has no levels, seasons, grades of initiation, or whatever; he is simply a champion of his deity doing what he does as well as he might.

If you want to know what level someone's character is, ask him or her OOC. Experience and/or general capability isn't really ICly quantifiable, so let's stop trying to convince anyone otherwise by veiling the question "What level are you?" in more or less creative phrasing.

Try it again at 20th lvl, there is a damage cap around 30 - 32 damage depending on Str and what not before 20. So at you Surname lvl this sword will be a beast. With my warriors Mith staff I went from 30hits at 19, to hits for 65s at 20th, and that weapon has 5less damage so you should hit for around 70s I'd think.

Does this thing have a known damage bonus yet? For the delay of it, you would think it should be hitting in the 1000's. That's sarcasm for those of you who can't sense it.

Bought one of these on Xev last night for 2k.

Best crit so far is 176, best cripple 217. (with 200 str.) Proc's on average 2-3 times a fight with about 100 dex.

Damage bonus is 18.

Seems a little slow compared to some of the other hefty 2 handers out there, but for 2k I think its a steal.

I currently switch out to my STR gear from my ac/hp items when using this, which is exclusively when I am not in a MA or SA role.

With a haste item and a chanter speed buff, this thing is quite serviceable IMO.

Great weapon for my ranger, especially for times when I need to reduce her taunt ability. If she needs to get her taunt up, I just switch to dual wield.

I think that would make a great weapon for rangers who want to avoid getting hit too often due to their being only a chain class.

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 06 2001 at 8:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) 2HS sucks for rangers because when you get up to levels where it actually matters if you draw the taunt or not there will always be somebody there who is the "main" tank and will keep aggro from you, and if there isnt then you are the "main" tank and will have to KEEP the aggro, i duel wield 11 24 and 14 28, each with respectable bonuses and procs(venemous axe and snare whip), i can keep the taunt when i need to but if not i just stop clicking the "taunt" button, its not difficult, u will learn that when u stop being a noob. and also i have beaten down warriors of the same lvl as myself (51) with plate equip comparable to my chain, so dont think just because we r chain we suck, we used to suck bad, but now we do not contrary to popular belief.

I have two set ups for my SK, and oddly enough, both weapons came from the same mob.

When I'm the primary tank or fighting a caster I use a MoSS and shield for a fast thumping taunt and extra AC. When I'm the secondary tank, I switch out my belt with AC and health stats for an FBSS, and slash away with this thing.

The lower taunt comes in handy when I'm backing up a higher level Warrior on a raid or even in an xp group on red mobs. Once haste is factored in with a bard/chanter adding to the FBSS, I think the damage per second is better than the MoSS although I haven't wasted time logging pounding on the river source and/or done the math =P. With damage shields, I take less damage than I would with a faster weapon.

Timing debuffs and other spells between swings is nice too since each cast isn't putting off potential melee damage. You should think about it before you trade this weapon. Sometimes being #1 on the hate list is a bad thing, and playing an SK, you know it's very easy to build up agro with this class.
