I just got eyepatch for my Paladin and no, they do not stack. Valor of Marr will overwrite Captain Nalot's Quickening, and of course if Valor is up and you try to click eyepatch, it will give a "Your spell did not take hold" message...

Posted:Oct 06 2002 at 2:46 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I believe it does stack with Valor of Marr. Considering Valor of Marr stacks with most other hastes :)
Apart from a couple of high-level bard songs, Valor of Marr doesn't stack with any other form of spell haste I have been subjected to. This includes Captain Nalot's Quickening, I'm sorry to say.
Just thought I would share my experience with you.. Started to camp stormfeather about 50 hours ago with another person in line camping the spawn in front of me.
We killed his Stormfeather 44 hours ago, and here I sit, freezing my virtual butt of in Iceclad, waiting for Stormfeather to spawn.
I only need Lodizal's drop to complete this. I was going to pirate to get the binding when Stormfeather popped, so i got lucky there, just need his map piece..
I just recently recived this eyepatch. It's quite a fantastic item if you're able to get it.
Effect is a right-clickable haste (approx. 20%) that lasts for about 10 minutes. You MUST have the eyepatch equipped in order to click it. Casting time is 3.5 seconds. It doesn't stack with Enchanter or Shaman haste spells, they WILL overwrite it. It's a very useful effect for those who solo or prefer to fight in smaller groups.
The quest itself is quite difficult, but I definetly recommend it. I was lucky with getting the Lodizal patch, which basically started me doing the quest. Stormfeather was a pain, but not overly bad... biggest problem with Stormfeather is definetly the kill-stealers. I got lucky when he popped, I was the only one looking for him. The other two pieces are a breeze and shouldn't take more than an hour to complete.
No your wrong, the haste cap isnt in the percentage its in the delay. The weapns delay can go no lower then 10. With the exception of the Vah Shir song in which case, and only that case, can it go below 10.
There is no minimum delay for weapons. Parse a Ranger with a Revultant Whip (14 dly) at max hast cap (100%) and you'll see him attacking more than once per second. It only appears that the min delay is 1 second because the EQ logger only logs things once every second.
Max hast cap is 100% with item/spell Currently, 2 Bard songs and monk epic (which is a self-buff bard song) can lift you over this cap.
Ranger POA Cloak (55%), Chanter Epic Haste (60%), Warsong of the Vah Shir (25%) = 140%= highest in game..
BTW.. as you probably know..haste doesn't drop your delay..it increases attacks / second, which is the same as decreasing delay, but more useful to know when figuring haste.
there IS a cap on haste, but dark cloak of the sky is 50% stackable haste, not worn. so theoretically it would be 175% haste (cloak - 50%, haste item - 40%, chanter haste - 60%, warsong - 25% which equals 175%) as the max assuming you have a 40% haste item.
I cant believe you are 60 Ranger and think that Dark Cloak of the Sky stacks with Chanter haste....this is just wrong. Haste cap at level 60 is 100%, there are 2 or 3 bard songs (not every Bard haste song) that can take you up to 125% at level 60. You can stack one item haste (example: Cloak of Flames), one song/spell haste, and one of the bard spells that allow you to go up to 125%.
Now, you can have to songs/spells that seem to stack (because you see both icons), but the haste portion of the buff does not stack.
Also, there is no minimum delay for a weapon... Simple parsing of a weapon like the Rat Whip (5 dam 14 delay) from Hate will show this is true, it will have an effective delay of 7 with 100 percent haste.
The Eyepatch of Plunder haste will NOT stack with the monk epic haste (though both icons will be up), it will not stack with the Paladin self haste (though both icons will be up), and it will not stack with any other spells/songs that have more than 20 percent haste (except for the 2 or 3 bard songs)
the cloak would be a haste item, so it wouldn't stack with another haste item i'd assume. regardless, the best possible is actually (whatever + whatever) = greater than or equal to 100%, dropped to 100% because of the cap, plus vah shir war song = 125%
The quest does not requires to be lvl 55, i did it with my lvl 52 war. Also the quest is easy getting the first and third page. The 4th page is a bit hardsince you need a good group or guild and luck on getting the camp and not getting KS, the second page is a pain and REQUIRES major hours of camping in IC for Storm feather, be ready for at least 32 hours of none stop camping and someone to give you brakes for sleep and so on, and be VERY careful with people KS stormfeather.
Was just wonderin how hard this quest is? Looks to me like it's exctremely easy for the reward given. Just need a good group to take out Lodi and you're set. Luck in battle, Bulvar Biggins 54 Dwarf Champion
This quest is not an easy one unless you're very lucky. The hardest part is killin Stormfeather. On Vallon Zek (PVP) server the spawns for both Lodizal and Stormfeather are always camped. Peeps have twinks camped on other computers which makes it hard for those who normally want to camp them. I was lucky enough to take the xp on Lodi kill when 2-3 guilds showed up tryin to kill Lodi a while back. I got the map piece. Stormfeather is a different story. He seems to be on the 18-19 hour spawn cycle but may not pop. I camped him for a week and a half around RL stuff like Family and job. Finally got it to pop after comin back from LD one nite to say goodnite to a friend. Once you get Stormy piece the other 2 are easy. Just requires a little legwork. The buff is stackable with haste item I wear but not with higher spell hast off chanter or shaman . Item is great but about lost my mind tryin to stay true to gettin this damn quest done. I'm happy I stuck it out though. Hope this helps some warriors out there.
Last time, SPELLS HASTES DO NOT STACK.....if a little icon appears in your buff box that means that even if there is another buff in the box that adds haste only the one with a higher haste percentage is doing anything (except bard songs which can exceed the haste cap....which makes 3 exceptions to this rule)
Once again: The HASTE portion of the monk epic will NOT stack with the HASTE porton of another haste spell, with 4 bard songs as exceptions. Those exceptions are the Ervaj and Vah Shir lines.
For thouse of you who stil don't understand I'll ty another example:
The results of this stacking would be: 24AC, 40AGI, 53ATK, 66% haste NOTE THAT THE BEST HASTE WAS USED. THEY DO NOT ADD! Captain Nalots Quickening is useless in this case!
The results of this stacking would be: 34AC, 40AGI, 53ATK, >>71%<< haste
Why 71% haste? Because the best haste would be used. In this case 66% from enchanter epic, and the 5% from the Ervaj line of bard song that does stack on other spell haste.
Unfortunately the haste songs, such as Johnathons whistling warsong and indeed the monk epic do not stack with spell/song haste - with the exception of the two bard song lines above.
Well, actually its not strictly true - the spells/songs do not overwrite, but thats because Johnathans Whistling Warsong and monk epic song both have an AC and ATK element which does stack. However the haste element does not.
Melody of Ervaj (level 50) Group: Increase Haste (5%) Description: stacks with all other Bard haste songs..does NOT take you over the haste cap.
Composition of Ervaj (level 60) - the upgrade Group: Increase Haste (10%) Description: stacks with all other Bard haste songs..does NOT take you over the haste cap.
Battlecry of the Vah Shir (level 52) Group: Increase Haste (15%) Will Exceed Haste cap.
Warsong of the Vah Shir (level 60) - the upgrade Group: Increase Haste (25%) Will Exceed Haste cap.
Note: all haste percentages from <a href = "http://lucy.fnord.net/"> Lucy </a>
Epic enchanter Haste 66 percent.
A good item haste 41 percent.
Well used Haste song ( group ) from a Bard at level 60 = Mcvaxius' Rousing Rondo (23 percent)
The calculations..(based on spell haste stacks with song haste .. this is stated in more places then the argument that it doesn't .. and personally I believe it does, but I will not argue that point here.)
All calculations are multi-group encounter setups assume enchanter 60 epic equipped and bard 60 are present.
Player with Item haste:
Item + enchanter + Composition + Warsong. 41 + 66 + 10 + 25 = 85 + 25 ( all haste is ignored after 85 except the song that exceeds the cap) = 110 haste.
Item + enchanter + Warsong 41 + 66 + 25 .. still equals 110 It comes to a point for a bard not to worry about haste other then the one that exceeds the cap.. you can only "normal" haste players up to 85!
Player without Haste item
Enchanter + Rondo + Warsong 66 + 23 + 25 = 110
Item But no enchanter ... lol Item + Rondo + Composition 41 + 23 + 25 = 89
There are higher percent haste songs , but at this level, it is hard to believe a player would not have a haste item / bard / chanter OR shaman helping them get to the haste cap of 85. There are also a couple items that stack with other item haste similiar to the Ervaj line of haste.
Again, will not argue the fact spell and song haste stacks..that is a whole other thread.

Posted:Jul 20 2002 at 6:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) um sorry but you can be hasted three ways... a click casted item... a haste spell... and an item that you are wearing... chanter spells stack with the eyepatch and so does the sash of the dragonborn. but with the highest chanter spell and either the sash or the eyepatch youd reach the haste cap.
Ok...I know alot of the quest items in Velious you need to be a certain level in order to use the triggered effect on the item. Is there a minimum level to use this effect? Or can you use it at any level? Obviously you would need some friends in order to get all the pieces of the map but...after that then what?
If bard hastes stacked with all shammy/chanty hastes, then why would they add songs at lv 50 and 60 which are 5% and 10% respectivly, which DO stack with other spell hastes? You mean to tell me, they add a 10% haste song at lv 60 with no stats or we could just twist in anthem (lv 10, same haste but with stats)? The ONLY reason you get both icons is most all bard hastes have stats along with them, THAT is what you are getting, not the haste along with it. But whoever you believe, ignorance is bliss I guess
Hmm, I don't know of any lvl 60 bard song with only 10% haste, but if there is it is most likely a song that can raise your haste above the cap. If that's the case VI isn't going to allow you to go too far over the cap. The extra song haste is good if your maxed by spell and perm item haste.
Permanent Haste stacks with either one Song or one spell... not one song and one spell. There are a few exceptions to the rules, bards. We have two songs that stack with another song/spell.
Melody of Ervaj - Level 50 Group Increase AC(10), Haste (5%) -- This song does stack with other haste song/spells.
Composition of Ervaj - Level 60 AC(10), Haste (10%) -- Also stacks with other haste song/spells.
Battle Cry and Warsong of the Vah Shir are also stackable haste. However, these two songs allow you to not only stack with a haste song/spell... they allow you to pass the haste cap.
In closing, Vilias's Chorus of Celerity doesn't stack with Speed of the Shissar... but Melody/Composition of Ervaj and Battle Cry/Warsong of the Vah Shir will stack.
The stats may stack, but the haste doesn't. You may show two icons of haste songs/spells, but that could just mean that the stat bonus is stacking (AC,DEX,STR,AGI,ATK) not the actual haste.
Stefen Ashkevron 55th Bard of Rodcet Nife
For more information, visit: http://www.eqdiva.com/songs.asp
Anyway, considering the AC, STR , and AGI bonus given by VoV (level 50 combat & haste song) amplified with level 30 Aplification, I say : let's sing it even if the haste part of it doesnt stack :b
If you scroll down this page you will see that Dread Lord Gudeldar posted info on the spell, allowable targets were Self (so self only) but it has a range and a text message if the spell is cast on someone else or cast from someone else (but I think this is just something the programers missed) so I would say its self only. One thing I would like to say is if you do this quest (BTW I have only got one pice of map so far) make sure u put the pices in the box and hit combie befor giving them to NPC dont forget and just hand in the pices all you will lose them :( anyway hope this helps

Posted:Jan 27 2002 at 12:07 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) could a 28 monk with many many many many loyal high lvl friends get this thing and even if i did could i wear it or is it one of those u need to be a certain level to wear it type items?
Haste increases the number of swings in a unit of time. So, this 20% haste adds 20% to the number of swings you get in x amount of time. If weapon delay is 20 (delay is tenths of a second), you get one swing every 2 seconds or 30 swings a minute. Add 20% --> 36 swings a minute. New delay = (60/36)*10 = 16.7 (may round to 17)
This is a spell/song haste. You can have exactly ONE spell/song haste, with two specific exceptions. There are 2 bard songs that give 5% and 10% haste that stack with spell haste. All other songs do NOT stack - both icons appear, you get all other bonuses from both hastes but only the higher haste takes effect.
Spell/song haste stacks with item haste. So, if you're wearing FBSS and this, your haste is 20% + 21% (FBSS) = 41%.
Your new weapon delay = Old Delay / (1+ 0.41)
re Haste caps. Best info I've seen is that Haste caps at 85% up to level 50 or 51, and 100% after that. So, best you can do is reduce delay by half. 1/(1 + 1.00) = 0.5
re minimum delays - There is a minimum, supposedly, but it is based on the weapon and is NOT 10. Monks have shown that you can get delay down below 10.
Anyone know if this can be chained. A freind has 3 of the 4 parts & I have the 4th. Just wondering if anyone has chained it..I would hate to be the first to prove it cant be done.
my monk now has this eye patch. and to clear up a couple things, the effect ir right clickable and stacks with my hand wraps effect. also my enchanter cast Shissar on me and it stack with the eye patch effect. it did NOT over wite it. as for total haste i dont care. i have a nice face item and am proud of it. next up Robe of Whistling Fists hehe
There is a haste cap, but just like many of the other caps, its depending level. At lower levels, I think its 21% or 27% and then it increase when the player reach certain levels. I can not remember the specific levels as my main is a necro, but I bet most high level rogues and warriors know it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spell cast on you: You are filled by the spirit of water. Spell cast on someone: Soandso is filled by the spirit of water. Spell fades: The quickening spirit departs.
Just a little bit more info incasae you wanted besides its at the top now
I see a lot of posts about the breakdown of how haste is figured but the initial question is still unanswered..what is the haste % you recieve from this item? does anyone know?
