My 55 Druid has been killing this guy for over a week, killed him about 9 times and finally had the leggings drop. The AC is nice and the Strength is nice but my question is how much would you be willing to pay for these and why? Buy it for the AC or for the Strength and for how much? Only 1 other in the bazaar on MT and it's selling for 980 pp.
He can be done with very little pain by a group in low 40's high 30's. We had a wolf-formed L 45 Druid, who was doing the snare, and Dotting (Bug Dotting) to keep aggro. Other Druid was L 38, also Wolf-Formed and nuking with Careless Lightning, Wizzie was nuking with fire dd for about 250. And I (L 38 Pally) was chasing behind him like a little rat terrier with my arbitor's. He has about 6k HP, went down in about 8 minutes. Done it two times and counting, have two shields to show for the effort so far. Lost about 300 hp total in both attempts.
Hehe, either the guy I bought em off of didn't know any better or they go much cheaper now but I bought them for 300pp on Tunare. Sent a tell as soon as he auctioned, str items are mucho importante for erud sk's :)
Hey, ive been looking for str legs on Nife, all i can say is they are better than black ice. by far less weight, but a lil bit less AC. as good as mith under lvl 35. i hear they look goofy though.
Didnt know that Beastlords can NOT wear it..sigh..killed Gorul with my bard yesterday to get those legs, now they will end up on the EC spam channel I guess and I need to look for other legs for my beastl.
Worth the price, consider u hvae to be 55+ to work on longshanks and its his rare drop. Not too rare i hear but 8str is nice on legs and not too shabby AC. nice Monk legs after 45 or so, 3 WT isnt bad at that lvl. Had a pair, getting another pair)
55+? Naaah, I put my short gnomie leg out. He fell over it and he died. Seriously tho. I was a lvl 48 necro by then when i killed him. Had my lvl 45 ranger friend with me. We killed him pretty easy, got the leggings :)
how can one get the money for one of these suckers? BTW im lvl 21 so its kinda hard, im in Warslik, but, is there some special skill like tailoring o somethin that could give me a boost in money? I got all my armour by trading, but never had to deal with buying from scratch if u kno what i meen
Traded a Spirit Tome straight up for some of these. Im really to finishing quest for staff of the wheel, and i had a stein of moggok already, so i figured what the hell, didnt need the tome, and my warrior could use the legs. I admit this is a great monk item, (weight is great) but i dont play as a monk, so..? Happy with the trade. 8str is nice for that slot for what i got em for.
Lysandus Loxinius High Elf Wizard of Tunare Domain of Rodcet Nife
Just yesterday these dropped, was with 59necro and a 44warrior fear kiting (for faction and exp).A pair of these dropped and necro won roll...i was so disappointed ;(...and then after i gave them to him we saw the same giant and he dropped the ice weave again :). i got a 77 and warrior got a 44. I was so happy :). Just thought i would share story, I guess the moral would be don't lose hope hehe. (i know seems kinda corny) Falinx, Feninn Ro, 49 Knight of Greenmist

Killed this guy earlier. Pretty easily with me, a lvl 52 druid, and two palies lvl 51 and 50 i believe they were. After a bit of straight meleeing / healing I snared, debuffed and doted him then ran around (also sat to med to make sure he didn't like me) while they beat on him while he was running. He was pretty easy once we started doing that.
Does anyone have any idea on how his spawning works (how often, placeholders or anything)? Or about how rare the ice weave legs are?
Giants name is Gorul Longshanks. He is always 47th with lots ( all SoV mobs have lots) of hp. Just a little bit easier than Gorgul Paclock in BW. Common drop is the Runebranded Stone Buckler AC15 str 5 sv dis mag poison 10. WAR SHD ROG SHM and large races only. Nice shield if it was smaller races too.
Gorgul Longshanks is a named giant with HUGE hp (think MG patriarch here) Took me an hour to kite him (started at 50 mana) He did not drop the legs. Instead dropped a runebranded dark shield (BAR, TRO, OGR only SHD, WAR, SHA only) ac 15 STR+5 sv magic poison and disease +10. It's an ok shield.. Definatley not as good as his rare drop (=
Kazooie is correct. Gorgul has astronomical hps for his lvl AND hits quite hard. Conned yellow to lvl 46, and took 20 mins for a 49 druid, 46 ranger, 45 pally and 45 druid to take him down with lots of medding for heals. Dropped the leggings. Look like mammoth hide leggings, solid black. Don't know his spawn rate (random?) but he popped on tracking again immediately. Needless to say, we were in no shape to tackle him again.

Needless to say he hit the combine button and POOF! Not to name names or anything.......but he's on the Nameless server and goes by the name ..........
