You can do the quest or you can buy it for 20 - 40p in the bazaar. Might be easier just to buy it if you have bad faction in BBM.
Easy to do as a level 12 druid. If you are Kill on sight to the dwarves just avoid them along the paths. No real reason anyone shouldn't do this quest unless platinum is a non-factor. Took maybe an hour to do counting travel.
After zone in head towards Wayfarer camp ( or follow the path in front of the book south, when it splits turn east) once u see the wayfarer camp go north. You will find the chess board right there. At lvl 11 the mobs on the way con green. The Undead pawn tho is dark blue and white to me. Kill 4 of them, than head south, to the Wayfarer camp, follow the path west, than SW to the druid ring. The Haunted tower is more NE of the druid ring. with the right map, you can see the skeleton camp there. Kill 4 Enraged skeletons, all DB at lvl 11, and than return to PoK to speak to Castien Drewe again. He will hand u the Ghostly Shroud and some experience.
I accepted this newbie armor quest and forgot about it. It was very easy to complete as a level 16-17 beastlord. Gave me a good tour of Butcherblock as well. Worth the effort for me.
