pfft, I only play 2 maybe 3 days a week for about 15 total hours.. My cleric is EP'd... to say someone has no life, because you cant get there is silly... to hit POF is easy now a day... just goto WW kill the sol ro key mob do turn in your flagged for SOL ro... kill 5 mini's which at lvl 70 are 1 maybe 2 groupable, you really dont even have to kill the 5 mini's just collect the key parts that are laying around the zone 3 parts I think it is. and you are flagged for SOL RO's chamber.... then sol ro which at level 70 is a SMALL raid force and your flagged for fire... the kill the named in fire for drops they are also SMall raid forces.. guess what a few days of that and your uber... the other zones have ways to enter as well,, with the will-ins ETC.... EQ is not all that hard... you just have to play SMARTER.. not longer

Well if they did somthing like that i would come back to EQ, sick of the constant catch up, keying.flagging ect. I used to play part time but got so far behind i gave up even trying and quit. It is a good game, but, games are supposed to be stress free and relaxing. EQ is/can be a very annoying and stressful game at times, I see where you are coming from but if they gave an option to bypass alot of the crap parts of the game, ie:AA grind, made much better npc vendor gear i would pay it, so that i can play/join certain guilds where most of the members seem to have have no life out-side the game. Unlike us other mortals that have children/work/bills to attend to in our lives. But i very much doubt SOE would ever consider it, as it would be out or order and unfair to all those peeps that have no lives and CAN put in anything from 5 or 10 hours in game everyday..

I started playing the very same day Kunark came out (12 hrs of downloading later). I loved this game, and it WAS my life for about a year (was still in grade school). I had to stop playing because of RL (went to college early). I came back @ PoP release and the game was still enjoyable even though i had a full-time job, an expecting fiance, and was still enrolled in school. Now that i am all on my own, with a wife, child, and job to take care of, the way EQ is going, it would be unfair to my family/job to try to play EQ to the point where it was enjoyable.
To be able to catch up, if you were away for an extended period of time or had other RL issues that kept you from playing, it is ridiculous. Yes, there are guilds that "raid 5 days a week, for about 4 hours a night" and can "come late, or leave early, and still receive DKP for the raid." but finding one is damn near impossible (atleast on E-marr it is).
Fun game. Loved it. With all the expansions, and everything you HAVE to do, to be able to do have fun (atleast personally), it is ridiculous. I know i am not alone when i say they should have planned the game according to the growing players. But... they do have a demographic to meet, and i understand that.
Good luck to all.

Gotta love this attitude. Anyone who sees the good stuff has no life. Keep telling yourself that.

My guild raids 5 days a week, for about 4 hours a night. Most members try to make at least 3 nights a week. On many raids, you can come late, or leave early, and still receive DKP for the raid. Currently we are working on farming Qvic, and getting into Txevu. Not quite cutting edge, but still pretty darned nice.

Notice, 3 nights times 4 hours, is only 12 hours a week. I work full time, have kids, take tae kwon do classes in my spare time, and still can find 12 hours to play EQ.

There's still a huge part of the game that doesn't require an uber raid force. They add content at the highest level to give those that have reached that level first more options.

There is so much to do in EQ, it's unbelievable... some even more entertaining and rewarding than some higher level content.

But if you HAVE to be at the top 1% of your server's population in order to be happy with the game, without sacrificing your RL time.

EQ may not be your life... but life is what you make it... and EQ should be treated the same way... play it for fun, as a game... not as a requirement.
