same ive killed him about 4 times so far, over night and all ive gotten is the arms quite frustrating
I have killed Kyv Assassin and his placeholder every 20 minutes for two days straight and he has dropped the armguards and other junk more than 30 times in a row.

THis is an awesome blade for any SK up until lvl like 61, then the SK should most definately go to undershore and do the monster mission there that drops a better sword (can't remember the name off the top of my head) but trust me, it's an awesome 1hander

Malginor's Captain's shortsword, or something like that, is the reward (sometimes) from the MM in undershore. A very good sword, and a decent replacement for this once you're 69+ (i forget how the reward stats scale, is it every ten levels in MM rewards?)
Just picked one up for 1200pp hehe next highest one was...on 53 SK, stats are about 80% of listed.

What would be a decent level to start using this? 30-35 or just wait until mid 40's?

I think it becomes a 28/30 at level 42, which is when its time to ditch the Massive Dragonclaw Shard and pick this baby up.

At level 30, it's a 20(43) damage. No stun to it either since it doesn't proc till 55, and I think +5 to stats. So, if you're desperate for stats, yes, use it before level 30, however, I'd use something more like a Ghoulbane, which already at level 1 is 15/34. Just my humble opinion.

The easiest way to compare dps of weapons is to compare "unadjusted" dps.
This is the damage the weapon would do *by itself* (without any benefit from str, dex, procs, atk, etc.) if it hit for its max every time.
This weapon hits for 43 damage every 30 seconds.
Doing simple division, we discover that 43/30 = 1.43 totally unadjusted damage per second.
You will hear this called the "damage ratio."
To compare, the Wroughtfire Blade of Thundercrest (for example) does 36 damage every 26 seconds.
36/26 = 1.38
Therefore, comparing nothing else, the Blade of Disruption does about .05 more damage per second.
All you really need to know is that doing it this way, the bigger answer means the better weapon as far as pure dps is concerned.
1.43 > 1.38
These numbers sound really small I know, but remember they are used as *multipliers* when figured in for your attack and strength and so on as the game computes how much you'll actually hit for each time. I fear I do not have those formulae for EQ (and it would be more math than you need), but in general I hit in the 200-300 range on my 59 sk with this sword.
The general consensus I have heard is that you should *not* try to figure in possible proc damage when picking a weapon, because there's never a guarantee that you'll proc at all, and mobs have a chance to resist the proc separately from the physical hit, etc. Besides, a lot of really sweet weapons like this one don't do any actual damage with their proc...but even a failed stun proc generates a bit of hate for holding agro.

Oh btw the prices on this thing are goin crazy!!! i saw them going for 50-100k yesterday!!
*hey im back now 66SK and the prices r way down to like 10k-. I hit for an average of 200-300 perwhack with this thing hehe cant find anything to upgrade it... its just that uber /sigh*

I have tyhis sword with a 53 sk and it hits in ther 150's easy... i don't know what you guys are talkin about sayin "this sword looks ugly" it looks ******* and is just an all around good sword. -Mortred lvl 53 Sk of Zek-
I got this sword for 5k on rathe woo hoo can't wait to use it only 14th lvl now but hey at 5k can't turn it down. I current use a centi SS and saw this and was amazed. Maybe by the time I'm 30 or so I can use it. Lots of pallies tell me this weapon is awesome. Next i want to get the 2 handed EOV. Still if you can find this for 5k or less get it well worth it. Pallies sure do get great gear.

At level 30 it finally starts having a good ratio. I think it was about 20 damage and 30 delay. Up until 30, my pally was using one of those Fabled Ghoulbanes. After 30, he uses this bad boy and keeps the fabled for the undead. In my opinion, its the best 1 handed pally weapon out there that can be bought in the baz.

This is an excellent Sword.
I have this on my pet project sk at level 25 it is a 16/30 with some fair mods even at the low level. I like this sword.. I look foward growing into it more... =)

Dropped 2 or 3 times tonight alone off Kyv Assassin. The camp was nwall that we were at not sure what other camps are able to get ahold of this guy
I have been using this sword since about the time it came out and I really love it. I have gotten a crit of 776 with it "without using a disc" at level 65 "did have on great shammy and Ranger buffs at the time though." It may be kind of ugly, but when you are just hangingaround in PoK you can equip something else:P.

I have been using this sword for a couple weeks now, before it i used 50/40 fabled razing sword of skarlon. I find that the benifits of stats outwiegh the minimal loss of dps, as i never considered myself the primary dps in any situation other than soloing. And its nice to bash for 100 rather than 18, especially when slay undead kicks in as it always seems to do when i bash. Until i am able to get a 2hander that is good enough to make up for the huge hp, ac stat benifit this sword and a sheild provides i wont wory about my highest hit being 15 harder lol, ill leave that up to the dps classes. thanks sony for providing us a competent weapon that we dont need a raid force of 100, 90 of which are sure to be offensive to my delicate palatte, to obtain

Gotta agree with Mctune on this one. Have been using the Edge of Envelopment for about a month now and its an excellent 2hs. Just missed on this bad boy last night but I'm sure I'll get one. My buddy has Blade of Disruption at lvl 68 (I am only 66 presently) and he really likes it but he also thinks the Edge is a superior 2hs and has been looking for one on Vazaelle where they sell for 100k - 150k lol with nice aug in mine it is certainly sweet but I am looking forward to Blade of Disruption as well for all those 1hs opportunities.

I just picked this sword up for my Paladin. Welcome back to soloing! I am currently weilding this and my Tae Ew shield and I am having a blast! 2HS damage with a 1HS sword PLUS better delay! I love this sword!

Aye, has a nice ratio, but don't confuse yourself about it's damage as compared to a 2hs. Remember 1hs damage bonus caps much lower than 2hs, at 65 damage bonus on a 30 delay weapon would be 36, makes for a fairly large difference in crits as well as average hits. If yer not tanking, and have a weapon such as edge of envelopment 44/34 (comparable in difficulty to get) you'd most likely have better dps with the edge as a result of higher damage bonus, dispite a slightly slower delay.

FYI, the damage bonus on this bad boy is 14 at level 67. My max melee crit with it is 462 atm. Not sure if the damage bonus is higher at level 70 yet.
Where does the Kyv Assassin spawn?
I camped Kyv Assassin for 7 hours and off and on for a few days and all I have seen is the arms drop. just wanted to *** my 2cp

I recently got this baby and it is great
The stats are very good and with a shield even better. It hits for as hard as a lot of 2 handed weapons out there.
