the gods were on our side tonight! my guild and i beat down ture and hanvar for a 2.0 orb and 2 ancient dropped on each kill, woot! :)

Been killing the BM for awhile now and have never seen the Ancient Runes, just the glowing.. however last night he did drop a rather nifty cloth cap

My guild has been killing both King and Queen since the release of OOW and we have yet to see an ancient drop. Not saying it doesn't drop but they are very rare off of those two encounters.

I'd have to say the 'easiest' place to get 70 runes would be "Miseryfiend Ghio" from MPG. Seen two 70 runes in my limited hunting at that camp. Usually set up at "ODI" camp, sometimes called "CY" or "Courtyard". Pull PH till Ghio pops, pull him to the CY camp and kill him, make sure he doesn't gate. If you don't have reliable stun or mez, just have your puller clear to him and fight him there at his spawn. Loot, and if your lucky, voila! 70 Rune.
I'd say its his rarest drop, Discord Battle-mage mantle being common, 66-68 runes next rarest, 69 runes next rarest, the pants next rarest, and then the 70 runes as the rarest of them all.

You're thinking of the GLOWING runes. Ancients drop off king and queen in Riftseekers and Anguish. This page says Battlemaster, which would definitely be easiest, if true, but I seriously doubt it.
Honestly, I think whoever reported battlemaster, made the same mistake, and confused glowing runes with ancient.
Easiest mob to get ancients from, IMO, is Ture.

What is the easiest way to get this rune if anyone would care to reveal please? I am in a small family guild and my Paladin, shaman, and druid friend will eventually need these runes. I wish Sony made them easier to get than off most raid-difficulty creatures.
You can't get them, and you're not supposed to be able to. If someone says ancients drop off of anything except high end raid mobs, they're either mistaken or simply lying. Back during... Luclin, I believe... They started making ancient spells and said that the reasoning behind them was that casters were not able to improve as much as melees in high end raiding due to the fact that melees got better weapons and casters had the same old spells. So they made ancient spells exclusively for raiders. Casual players aren't meant to get them anymore than they're meant to get the ridiculously powerful melee weapons that drop off the same mobs. You may be able to get ancients from older expansions like Luclin where the raid mobs are a joke now, but you'll never see up to date ancients without raiding.

Honestly...there is no "easy" way. These Ancient Runes only drop off some of the most difficult raid mobs in the game. It would be awesome if there was some sort of quest that was doable by those of us that are not in an "uber" guild environment...but as of now there is no easy way. The way that I understand it, the "easiest" way is to get the drop off of Cadavor Fonidan in MPG, but from what I hear, it is a hard camp, and the drop rate is very rare.

...all the raid mobs from Anguish to the list of droppers. Keldovan the Harrier, the chest of the Tormentor event, Warden Hanvar and Arch Magus Vangl all drop two runes each kill.
PS: And you may want to remove Cadavor Fonidan from that list, it's been said to be a mistake by the original poster already :p
