More effective?
# Dec 01 2003 at 11:19 AM Rating: Decent
Has any chanter out there who owns this crown made experience, that the memblur component of our mezzes kicks in more often when you wear this?

I noticed that during our Rathe encounters, that my rathe member was regenerating a lot more than the others, even though our tactic were the same...

When I removed the crown at the next encounter, my Rathe didn't regenerate nearly as much as it did before...

Maybe the focus not only enhances the duration, but also the effectiveness??
Stackable with Burning Affliction?

I wonder if the recent change to extended duration focus items for detrimental spells has had any effect on Focus of Mediocrity?

Example: Extended Affliction was 20% longer duration but was changed to Burning Affliction with 20% greater damage.

Does Focus of Mediocrity still give 15% extended duration on detrimental spells? If yes, I wonder if it now stacks with Burning Affliction's new 20% damage increase.

If it does, it would be awesome.

Any spell that lasts longer than 24 seconds, besides charms, will be effected by this. DoTs, mezzes, debuffs, buffs.

No it will not stack with any other spell effect lengthening focus.

Worn focuses just do not stack in similar ways.

This item is especially of interest to a high-level Shaman, since it is the only item in the game that will extend the length of Torpor or Quiesence! With this item, these spells may last up to 7 ticks (healing 2100 HPs for only 200 mana).

Not true any longer.
Earring of Embedded coral has 20% (and the same 24second limitation of the effect Eterninostrum), but is benificial only.

Also there are other 20% effects that affect benificial spells that have not yet been found (plane of time drops) and 25% items, but only one is 24 seconds and benifical.
Interesting- not restricted to bene-only

It's interesting to note that this is not restricted to Beneficial-Only spells (buffs) like the Extended Enhancement items, and though it is just 5% worse than a *dedicated* Extended Affliction item, it is a good trade-off overall for those lacking such an EA-IV item.

This Crown is a boon to Druids and Necros, Shamans and Enchanters (wow- slows lasting longer!), and to a lesser degree Wizards, Clerics and Mages... Wizards' only use for this is snare really, Clerics have just one or two undead-only DoT's, and Mages might find their pet buffs last longer (won't work with rain-type Spells).

Cheers

Not that I really want to increase the compition for this, but clerics might also benifit from this with their HoT's, just like a shaman with torpor.

Of course this is clearly a necro item. Well ok it's a phelon item. All char's named Phelon should get the first shot at this.
