By the time you're high enough level to get this bow then you should either have the plat to buy better or the fletching skill to make better - it's the rusty dagger/hunting bow of the high end game.
It may be the "rusty dagger" to you. But, thanks to all the people who go to TT looking for OS keys, it's a darn fine bow for lowbies to get from peeps who are just there to get their OS key.
I just started playing on a PvP server, and though it's Sullon Zek and you can't loot things except coin, it just brought to mind that this is no drop and people on Rallos Zek would be very happy to have this bow since PKers can't loot it off of you. Just a thought.
This bow is a nice reward for rangers who help track the Froglok Forager and Froglok Hunter for the key to Sebilis. I've gone into Trakanon's Teeth without a tracker and it's not much fun. Bring along a ranger to help find the froggies, and he'll likely go home with a new magic bow.

Since this item isn't NO DROP on FV, I thought I'd post some pricing data here: I've seen one go for 75PP and paid 100PP for mine (but they were asking 150PP), so the average price 87.5PP. I got this for range slot +DEX until I can upgrade to a Raincaller.

I play on FV also, I paid 20pp for it. Seen them for lower. Anyone hunting for medallions for the Seb key quest will have quite a few of these drop and since they are lore, they will eventually be left to rot. Hence the cheap price. Still a nice bow though, my now 48 warrior has been using it for the past 20 or so levels.
anyonw who thinks this is a nice bow should not ever be allowed to shoot a bow

She got this bow when she was lvl 28, this is a nice bow for a level 28.

Yes there are better ones, but the price is righton this one...free! I looted one tonite and replaced my rough oak recurve. Most warriors don't have the luxury of kiting so we rarely get more than one or two hits anyway...so the dex is a definite plus for our combat skills.
Seems to me the only reason to have it in your inventory at all is the Dex +3. The Shaped Darkwood Compound Bow is 19/41 Rng 150, much better unless you are only using the bow as a one shot wonder. Given the level at which you need to get the bow, a Ranger would be better off going after the Raincaller, which is Str/Dex +6, rng 200.
But that is just IMHO, and we all know how those are. Good hunting, all.

aye i got a shaped darkwood 1 cam bow 20 46 nice for pulls then put in my fetish of the nimble (2 ac 5 agi 5 dex and 2% to dodge) tho just recently verant F'D up and nerfed barbs from the usable races on the bow (its player crafted non enchanted so it shouldnt have happened) prolly just a ***** up theyll fix next patch...

Bards do not get archery. When Kunark first came out the froglok hunter and foragers did drop this bow and it was usuable by bards. The only problem was bards could not equip arrows to use with the bow and it wasnt originally meant for bards. Verant has corrected their mistake now and changed it so that bards cannot use it.

(from what I heard). If you are pulling, use songs, carry all the arrows is not a good idea for bards

Ive found this is no longer usable by bards. Don't waste time to get this one, fellow bards, let ranger or warrior loot it.

Looted one on saturday and it's stats are:
Atk Delay: 50
DMG: 19
Dex: +3
WT: 8.5
Range: 150
Class: WAR RNG
Better then the hunting bow I had =)

LOL! I picked one of these up camping seb key too, lvl 52 warrior here and it replaced... my hunting bow :)

lol like many warriors, I'm using this as a replacement to the hunting bow. Only using it to pull so I didn't want to invest. 150 range ? Perfect for our pulling needs.

Looted one last night and Class Restriction was RNG, WAR. Seems they fixed the typo with the BRD added to it.
Is this bugged? Surely this should be SHD or ROG? Bards cannot use Archery.
dunno bout that.. ;) Im just pissed its lore.. when I went to get my Seb key I picked this up cuz Im a packrat and found it sells to vendors for about 100pp.. depending on faction... odd since most no drop items cant be sold.

Some NO DROP items have prices offered for them from vendors, but you still can't sell them (you get the "item cannot be dropped, traded or sold" message). Maybe the vendors calculate a price based on the ratio and stats of a weapon?*shrug*
