LORE Augmentations
# Mar 29 2004 at 2:30 AM Rating: Decent
I found something wierd....I put 3 of these on one piece of armor to see if it works on www.magelo.com and I could do it. but this is LORE item...is magelo didn't catch up with aug yet? because magelo usually does not allow putting 2 same LORE items together. Anyone have any info about this? is it possible to put 3 same LORE augs on one piece of armor? (Very unlikely but hey you never know =)I hate to find out after I spend points on same LORE aug item.

You cannot possess two of the same item if the item is LORE. You can cheat somewhat if one is in the shared bank, but you can't take it out while the other is still in your possession (equipped/inventory/non-shared bank).

LOL I ready know all that. What I was wondering about was why in www.magelo.com I could put 3 same LORE items together. I guess magelo got messed up with augs

I do not like it at all, I have already had to destroy 3 Augs when upgrading gear. I would eventually have to do the same with this. I have not spent any of my adv pts yet, I do not know on what I will spend it, but not on this.
I hate the fact that you can't remove and still keep the aug.

If you could remove augs and keep them, everyone would always be swapping their augs around to convert it to resist gear, etc. It would defeat the purpose of augs which allows you to create a customized set of gear for your needs. Just plan ahead some so you don't end up wasting a bunch of augs.

Not if you kept the current system that required you to combine it with solvent to get the augment out rather than making it swappible on the fly. Just code it so when you solvent the augment it goes to pack rather than destroyed. If you want to descourage augment swapping make the solvent that allows you to remove an augment to a pack rather than destroy it like 500p per rather than 18p per. But over all there is no real reason to not allow them to be moved to another peice of gear when you find a better one, except of course the fact that doing so makes you play longer to get more AP(time sink). Personally I'm of the view you bought the augment its your item why should you have to destroy it or let it rot in the bank when you upgrade the peice its in. This makes buying an augment virtually pointless for anyone 20-65 because you know every peice of gear on you is gonna change during that time.

You can now remove augs without having them destroyed. But it does cost a fair amount of plat for the higher type. You can also sell them back to vendors for approx. 70% of the adventure pts you paid originally.

Am I reading this right? +10 Sta for 357AP? That's a pretty good tradeoff, if you ask me. Augs like this make are making it pretty easy to max out all of your stats...

or you could put in a +6 sta aug that you can get for free just by looting it. Looked at that way you're getting +4 sta for 357 points, not quite as good. If you're unlucky and never get enough of the augs you want from your adventures, and you have points to burn, these +10 augs can be worth it I suppose. But I'd wager the other gear you can get for your adventure points are going to be quite a bit better.

It really depends on your needs. My character's equipment is pretty much set. I have very little to upgrade to, and what I do need is all Plane's gear, so the equipment I can get from LDON's really isn't all that great. I'm doing the LDON's anyway to max out my adventurer's stone (25% of the way done now) so these peerless aug's are perfect for my needs. I just keep them on the items I know are set for a long time to come.

It's still worth it in some cases.

I put this aug into a pair of Warlord's Steel Gauntlets.. just looks better with all 10's on the stats :)
