Do modifiers to backstab stack at all? If this was in one hand and say, Legendary Dagger of Might (with +3% backstab) in the other, would you get an 8% modifier? Or does just the higher one take effect?

Wrong. You can have a backstab mod on your primary, and/or a backstab on your secondary, and the highest of them will be used to calculate your backstab skill. 12% is currently the max possible BS mod.
this is a very nice wep, its got a pretty good ratio, very good stats, and an awsome proc. 140 damage should get some agro goin, or atleast boost ya on your victims hate list.
not to good for a warrior since piecring tops out at a lower lvl then 1hs and 1hb, as of for a rng or bard, this is ok, but most likely bards will have better. AS for bst many will be using h2h at this lvl...so whats left sk's and rogs...well sks gonna use 2hs for the most part, an they have better ratio weapons out there...so the only class really gonna be using this are rogs..Don't get me wrong, warriors an others can get some uses out of it, but in alreality there are jus better weapons out there for those other classes
What level are you talking about Piercing topping out? I'm 66 and my piercing is at the same level as my 1hs.. and my main weapons are a Piercer and a Slasher
They changed that in a patch a while back. Maybe 6 or 8 months ago I think. For a long time, piercing weapon skill for a warrior stopped at about 210 I think. Only rogues could go higher. They then changed this since a lot of non rogues stopped using daggers at high levels because a sword would go to 250 while daggers stopped at 210 skill.
This makes a sweet little main hander with Ragebringer offhand....that is until you can get a new one.
BoT, Akheva, Ssraa etc... all have better mainhanders .... but Inny is so easy to get to and pop that it just makes sense to do this first. have tank pull Inny to a corner and smack away ... you have to corner him due to his knockback.
Nice little drop there, I guess this is another way a rogue could just pass up the epic and go for this. Still if I didn't have a mega haste item already and I was a rogue I'd probably go for epic...
It's not just the haste of the epic, it's the 100 HP and the 40 ATK. Use this + Ragebringer in off-hand, as my 51 Rogue does, and the damage output is very nice, along with the combined stats.
