For reasons unknown, my husband was GIVEN one of these. Well, it being a sweet weapon and my needing to work on 2HS (just dinged 52 and it's at 200), I borrowed it.
The aggro on the proc was sometimes enough to drag it off my husband's paladin while he was maintanking and I was not taunting.
I have used this sword just recently. I own a Windblade and a WMBS and this seems to hit harder that the WMBS. It is alot faster than the Windblade and allows perfect timing to cast spells between swings. Looks like a perfect SK weapon or a warrior aggro weapon as well. Had a level 65 warrior friend try it and he hit from 180 to 350 with it. He wanted to buy it but I said no sale. This one is a keeper and the graphic is not all that great but its not like everyone elses sword so I like it.
Well I for one think it's a pretty nice weapon. Maybe not lvl 56 rec, Nice but still nice. I have it on my 35 Pally right now and I already get the proc so very nice. Only getting 19/32 Dam/Del right now but still hit in the 70's with it. So works for me.
Great weapon ? Bah it sux, crappy graphic and crappy proc. Really, it has level 56 recomended on it and the proc only DoTs for 5 ticks. thats 20 mana and 20 HP over 5 ticks !! pants ! Anyone level 56+ is gonna be XPing in Tier 1 or 2 of PoP and a DoT for 100hp and 100mana is just so underpowered. You'd be better off using a feather duster.
20hp and 20 mana per tick for 5 ticks, to clarify. That's 100hp and 100 mana total, plus the fact it's poison based, and has a 32 delay, making this a great buyable aggro weapon for unguilded/small guild tank classes.
As a Necro fond of Agro-Kiting, I can say this...stacking counters on a mob = uber agro.
If a melee keeps proccing with this sword, the mob will get +9 poison counters PER PROC. At that point, it's not the damage of the proc that's keeping your agro; it's the counter-stacking. Also, the poison(et.al.) counters add on even if the related spell or proc is resisted.
I am currently cleaning the drool off my KB looking at this sweet piece of hardware as a permanent add to my armory. I am currently using a Silver Swiftblade for the delay, but once I get capped, this is definitely an item I intend to have.
I wanted to extend a big thank-you to my guild, the Guides of Norrath on Bertoxxulous server. Without their help and true dedication to the greater good, I would not have this great weapon.
