I'll never understand why people make such a fuss about ornate. 90% of it is useless in comparison to DROPPABLE gear of the same value. Maybe worthwhile if you win a roll on it, but you could still just sell the mold /pattern and buy something of equal effectiveness. Granted, there are some items that have nice effects (enchanter legs, for example), but by far, the majority is just not very good.
Buy a piece of droppable gear and augment it. Sell it when you upgrade. Heck, you can even remove the augment and put it on what you upgrade to now. Maybe we'll see ornate appropriately valued when people start doing that.

I agree. Other than the bracelet and legs most of the enchanter stuff just isn't worth it nor the rediculous prices people are asking for them.

For the price, A Velium Blue Diamond with a good LDON it much better for the cost. 700pp for much better saves.. and the aug to help your class/stats as needed. Far better value.
People don't buy these for the stats, they buy them for the FT. Since your average casual player probably isn't in a guild that cleans VT, FT is hard to come by for them. That is what makes these so exspensive and worth it.
