People acctully make it for some events. like weddings when u want a full suit and in any color. so that maybe a reason for it also this has been around since the VERY begining of EQ yes 3 years ago. so back then this was like uber
what is the difference between these 2? i see one mold that is like 10pp for i think the bracer and the same one for 90pp i think for the steel bracer... just saying tho altho it may not be what i do know that there is a range difference but what i want to know is what is the difference between steel and fine plate?!
These prices are rediculous. You can buy much better armor with stats and all from players at a much lower price. C'mon verant. Let this armor be accessible to lvls around 20. Theres a LOT of better armor out there for half the price of this.
I agree. This is one reason why the economy is so screwed up in EQ. Do you know of ANYONE who would actually buy this armour? Bah!
Player-made items should be the best available, with looted items being next best, and store-bought items being the last -- and most available, thus cheapest.
The price on this item flies in the face of the law of supply and demand. The supply is high, the demand is low, therefore the price should be low, yet it is too high for anyone in their right mind to consider.
It is all because Verant wants to make people buy and sell from each other not with vendors. Thus the idea behind why tradeskills products don't sell for more than it costs to make them (very few exceptions). Also why very few dropped items sell for anything to vendors.
It's expensive because buying from a vendor is the easy way out--you don't have to hunt or practice trade skills or search for other players. Since buying from a vendor takes almost no effort, the prices were made high to discourage people from taking that route. At least that's my impression.
Of course they may have gone a bit overboard here...even at half the current price I doubt more people would start using it. Keep in mind though that fine plate didn't exist at the time that steel armor was created, possibly not even the class armor quests, so at the time the prices weren't _quite_ as ridiculous because armor better than this was harder to get.
