does anyone know the proc rate on this? I know the Sorrowsong hammer procs 5.3 times as often as the summoned hammer and has same delay( so its an obvious choice, but most of us dont have it ) so does anyone know the proc rating of this?
Forget the whole "melee" aspect of this weapon. What I see is a primary slot item, with 100hp, 100m, Buncha sta and wis (more mana and HP). AND to top it off, some saves. Thats the spot I would have liked to see more.
Plus, no need to waste time summoning a hammer every time you log in.
And, if you should choose to hit a mob, in a slow period, it isn't half bad as a melee weapon :)
Isn't the level 60 hammer 18 delay? If so, it would most definitely be more efficient for damage than this. Considering the damage you'd be doing anyway, the ratio is unimportant. The proc is what does the damage, and with a delay almost 1 second faster, the summoned hammer would probably be more damaging.
Search the cleric boards at eqcleric.gameglow.com They have done parsing to show that the proc is based off of time and not dmg/delay, atleast for the cleric summoned hammers.
Ie. With or without haste, you would still proc 30times a minute.

The coded proc rate on this might be higher than the summoned hammer, but I'm betting you'd do more spell damage with the summoned one.
Completely and totally wrong. Number of swings has absolutely no effect to proc rate. So it makes no difference if you swing 20 times in 3 seconds to get 1 proc, or swing 3 times in 3 seconds to get one proc. It is still the SAME time.
It is almost all procs... i have and researched this and it has nothing to do with the hits but with random checks based on dex (i was too far away several times but the procs effect was in range and it would still proc.)
Just because it is cleric only doesn't mean it would rot. I know a lot of clerics who love to melee instead of sitting on their butt doint nothing. This is also makes it where they don't have to sit there and waste mana summoning a hammer of their own. I say it's about time Clerics got droppable melee items at higher levels! Right on!
