I found sparkling dust at the end of the little "alley" behind Rathmana's tent in NW corner of SRo. Approximately 1295, 1430 coordinates.
Why isn't this a charm? or the brooch? Verant can you hear me????
There was no "Verant" in 2003, so probably not. LOL

I got the soulstone about 3 weeks ago after the quest finally truly got fixed on Live servers. I promptly equipped it and went hunting in Inny swamp at level 16. First time I hit my bash key I get a message saying I must have a shield equipped to Bash.
This is therefore totally useless to a paladin.
If however SOE has decided to tag it as a shield in one of the more recent patches, then... yay.

I'm a 28 pally and I was just wondering which is better for me this or chitin shell shield?
It's actually quite simple of a decision for a Paladin...a shield is better. I remember, vaguely, hearing you can bash with anything in the secondary slot as long as it has ac...but do you really want to bash at 5/60? That's what this would do if you can bash with it. AC/60 is your DMG/del of a secondary bash weapon.
Since these can't go into RANGE, they are worthless for a Paladin, IMO. Even more worthless for a warrior, though. You don't drop your dual wield skill for this minor of an item, it's ridiculous.
Little bitter at the fact that they didn't make it RANGE equipable...can ya tell? ;)
However, for a CLR/SHM/WIZ...this is not a bad item for it's level. They should look into getting one. Besides, this is Everquest. :)

I agree with you, when i did it. i was getting my butt handed to me and with this in my secondary slot and i had to drop a sword in for it. I wish this can go in RANGE or CHARM slot but we can have everything we want. :b

This quest now requires a certian level to attain. Ive given him the items prematurly, only to have them returned with a lowball comment as well. Currently, I cannot recieve it at lvl 25... checking back every level. Wil update when IO find out.

It is not your Level. You must do your note quests first... the ones where you hail certain NPC's and collect things for them from the Swamp which leads to you haveing to kill a troll invader and a Froglock Traitor.

I gave High Seer Flogk took my Initiates Soulstone but he didn't give it back - any suggestions ?

you dont give him back the soul stone, if you read what he says, you bake the soulstone with the amulet you got in the beginning from your guild master.
This has got to be one of the best quests for a newbie ever, its very easy to do, nothing to kill and for a low level item it has great stats.

All three items needed can now be attained. Please refer to quest info page for locations. I completed mine on April 24 on Vallon Zek.

Anyone who is having problems with getting the two items in innothule and South Ro please report the bug by doing /bug in game. Hopefully if they have a ton of people report it they will work on it faster. So anyone reading this please report it. remember sparkling dust is in SRo at 0,0 and Swamp Water is in Inno at 0,0. Thanx

I have a Frog Wiz and Cleric - both doing the quest....both have reported /bug! Really frustrating! Hope they fix it soon. Even did a petition to hopefully get more attention.
Just /bug 'ed it myself too. Pretty anoying. . .I really wanted that extra wis too.
Just currious. . . .if you had a lvl 15-20 Froggie Cleric and the option to carry this or the Shiny Brass Sheild (+10AC, +10svMag). . .which would you choose? I'm torn.
I'd go with the Soulstone (wisdom and mana), unless you plan on getting beat on consistently.

do i have this right? are the frogs getting a newbie quest for a held item?
hm... never really seen that before
from looking at the quest, seems you have to do a few quests before you can do this... never played a frog (don't have loy) but the other race's newbie quests are a bit time consuming... so i don't feel left out anymore

the vial of dust is in SDro not Ndro at 0,0
polished water stone = in Upper guk under water in the cresent plank area, (the thin boards fall off go to center the polished water ston is there)
The Sparkling dust is at 0,0 in Nro on the ground.
the Vial of swamp water is at 0,0 in Innothule swamp on ther ground (under shallow water)

Does anyone know where the polished waterstone, the sparkeling dust, and the vial of swampwater can be found and what drops them?
