Just bought this today in bazaar... Now says it has a 50dmg proc along with the 100 hate.. Not a bad weapon at all. I use in second hand only to my frostbringer (Cant be without the 60 dmg and the 40 ac debuff.) and it does proc alot... even in offhand.. I'll get it to proc atleast 2 times each fight with just 133 dex! now theres a weapon I have learned to love.
just so u know who ever said the cons on the boat were light blue at 54? well uhhh i am 57 and there are still 98 percent dark blue on that boat..and i do hunt the boat on a regular basis good loot with the gems, weapons, and dropping of plat plus the exp....
yeah i got this wep dirt cheap. The WAR only tipped me off that it might be a good agro holder. Think i paid about 45p for it. Not bad for someone that cant even afford a centi Longsword. Im only level 31 (25 at purchase) and cant wait for it to start procing! Agro>dps :)
My Lvl 32 Warrior Bought this for 1200pp in Bazaar and was wondering, "where does 100 points of hate, fit in". At LVL 35 it procced, not once, not twice, but Usually 3 times per battle with 154 dexterity. Coupled with a Under-rated Venomous axe of the Velium brood in primary slot. At LVL 35 I'm getting 3-6 procs per battle. They have no attention span for the Cleric or Magic caster. All is focused on me, They spin around so quick when it proc's I'm surprized they don't break there neck, Even when they are already focused on me. LMAO, Reading these post. It'll be another under-rated weapon before long. As a kind word of advice; Always read the Pricing data, And Follow the Links through. Usually if theres a stupid price, some dis-gruntled person is behind it.....
9/21 isnt that great but stick it in offhand and it is good. 100 points doesnt seem like that much but the epic is 500, so its pretty nice to have. Im guessing it procs around 35 (gunthak loot normally does) and thats like 20 levels before you can get epic so its not bad at all.
This item is not worth anything over 200 plat. It's a great weapon but a warrior needs something more and anything else doesn't need the extra agro if it can't take it without this (i.e. a ranger would die with this and a sk can just cast the 200 hate list spell). So in other words this is alright for maybe a lvl 30 warrior but other than that it's nothing special
Somebody entered a 10000pp price tag in the price list 4 times in a row and another person entered 18000pp in the price list. My guess would be to try to drive up the price listed here and then take advantage of it in the bazaar.
Is that price there listed at 10,250 a misprint. I'm lucky if I could get 1500 for this on the 7th. It's a nice warrior weapon don't get me wrong...but I can't picture someone buying this for 10k. Heck they could have a red dragon scale for that much.
A couple days of trying to sell this at the bazaar.. between 1000=1500kand no luck. I don't think a lot of the folks understand what the proc does.
This axe procs 100 points of Hate. We agree that Hate holds agro. My question is; How is hate measured, Is a hundred points more than a Cleric casting Heal. Is it more or less than a Monster nuke? A BoC has a 700 point modifier, Sounds like a lot. But, Where does a 100 point modifier fit in?
#REDACTED,
Posted:Apr 25 2003 at 11:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) my only complaint is that the damage to ratio is a bit low , i know it procs a hater raiser which is very good, but the fact that it is a 9/21 dulls it a bit. If it was a 11/20 it would rox
btw the prices on these items will go WAY down specially from the lvl of mobs that drop these, speaking...anyone remember valarium rings of galantry being 20k an now they are 9-10k on 7th =\
Well on Quellious I can't even give it away in the bazaar... maybe people are ignorant about the benefits of a hate proc? I am trying to sell it at 1200 whilst the price here at the time of writing is 11,600!
No, maybe you are just ignorant on the value, a lot greedy, and totally clueless. The damage on this thing sucks. There are a lot better weapons available too.
I am not one to class whine a lot, but it's funny how SOE screws warrior's taunt then throws them a frickin' bone like this. Sell it for 200pp and be happy you made even that much.
I picked this up the other night and decided to try it out with my 55 War. Even though it lowers my dps a bit I seem to hold agro much better with this weapon in my mian hand and my frostbringer in my off hand. I dont always use it but, I keep it in my bag of tricks to use as needed.
Strange on this doing a better job than frosty. I regularly MT and find that the ST takes aggro from me alot when I use 2 fleshgrinders and he uses frosty/LSoEE. When I switched to Epics (a hate of 500) he still took aggro from me for a sec after some procs. I have higher stats in all areas and better haste than he does. (regularly Str 255, Sta 250, Dex 237 ATK 1300 COF + spell haste)
The only way I am sure to keep aggro is to either use frosty/Blade of Strategy or Fleshgrinder/Blade of Stratagy
My mage with earth pet and a Druid killed him 2 times while camping the ship. He was easily rooted by the pet, not certain if the druid cast snare on him or not. He really isnt much harder (if at all) then the deckhands.
Seems to me that most anything in the zone can be snared at least, which would probably mean they can be rooted. Wasn't having any trouble with named stuff summoning tonight, so I don't think they do.
Best advice I can give is to just use good hunting skills. If you can snare, snare. If you can pull small, pull small. Nothing here is too tough if you slow it and make sure it doesn't get far enough to bring back friends. Most mobs are mildly cold/fire resistant, but I had no trouble getting my DoTs to stick.
The straight skinny:
Hits: 50-110 fairly rapidly unless slowed HP: 3-4.5khp on the average mob, figuring high SV: Moderate Cold/Fire/Magic, low Poison/Disease Loot: 3-5pp, higher end gems, Zraxthril weapons, usual assortment of vendor loots Nameds: Frequent, good drops, not much tougher than common spawns
98% of the population of this zone will aggro on sight. Mobs here seem to have a fairly small aggro radius, so you do have room to set up shop just about anywhere. Most wandering guards were dark blue to 43, though some were as high as white.
axe is quite nice, have it on my 46 warrior, now has a recomended level of 36 so that is probably when it starts procking... with a cha of 1 wielding this with a (sword of kesha?) 8/22 procs clinging darkness, only have to taunt if someone debuffes or dose a large DD, makes it really easy to get and keep agro =) considering the level to obtain and the benifits to a "main tank" I would put a value on this personally of no less then 2400pp though I could see it selling for as much as 3k maybe 3500, anything more then that I'de suggest getting a group and getting it yourself... the captain is a rare spawn on the 5th ship...ton of hp's and probably hits in the 100's for those withing to tank.
be safe and good hunting... Bdday (tunare) Crod (tunare)
I got one off Capt, he drops some legs also, with a guild group, We have had 2 drop in 2 days on the boat. I t procs for me at 40 so not sure when it starts but works now and it procs 2 or 3 times a fight at 42.
Tictoc O*Clock 42 Gnome Warrior Riders of Kunark Stormhammer Server
I saw a friend with one of these and asked around ALOT about it.
It drops in Dulak's Harbor off of Captain Rockbelly on the Dandolak Boat. He is a rare spawn and cons dark blue at 54. His shipmates are lightblue/blue at 54 also.
There is hate increases on other droppable items, the only other one i can think of though is EB on BoC, of course thats a 300k+ item and drops off of the AoW, so it doesnt really count, but if ya look hard enough there are a buncha items with hate increasers, i would think that an ac tap or debuff type spell produce more aggro, and also the spell "Venom of The Snake" as a proc raises you on aggro list by a ton for some reason, im not sure why cuz it doesnt have an hate increaser in it i thought, but to sum it up, there are items that have hate increase, or that have ac taps/debuffs that create more hate than necessary, heh.....
Venom of the Snake is a poison DoT and does ALOT of damage in a short period of time, that's why the mob gets angry alot when the proc goes off. I have a shaman who uses this spell and almost always gets aggro from it. Even waiting till mob is down 20% in health.
