Skilling up 2HP

According to my searches, this is the best 2HP out there if you want to skill up on a while grinding exp. It doesn't have the damage bonus one would want, but it's fast and a damn good ratio.

Now if you want to skill up on a pet, Rujarkian Goblin Spear is the way to go. Low damage, low delay.
what to buy
# Jun 08 2004 at 8:20 PM Rating: Decent
Ok, for background Ive got a 65 warrior and 51 shadowknight.
Once I got my warrior to 65 I went around buying and aquiring
tons of weapon combos. Nothing was more disapointing then the
windblade. I sold it two days after buying one. Still have my
warmarshal bladed staff as its the best 2h slash Ive got.
It also completely owns over every other 2hander I have
access too. Though for maintanking, dual 1-handers are still
always best for aggro management for a warrior, and for a
knight class the single best weapon thats decently easy to
get is the Two Tined Corpse Pitchfork, but wmb is a lot more
dps so its prolly more useful overall. I use copper hammer
of striking and bloodsworn sword, at the end of the day
these cheap weapons really hold massive aggro. If your a
knight class just go warmarshal, or get a 1:1 knight class
1 hander and a good shield.

Ironically, WMBS is second only to the Windblade which you sold in terms of DPS. At least it was back in the day. Obviously not any more but when this post was made it was.

WMBS has a ratio of .903 and WB has a ratio of .88.

You really should have held onto the Windblade, it has a higher DPS and, chances are, you're not going to be tanking with a 2hs, you'll be using yours for DPS.

I must say that I fully agree with the earlier posts....I thought that this was good on my SK....but I recently tried with my new Berserker. Was so fast for lvling in pierce and then the damage cap came heck with Windblade...this thing Rocks!!! With the leg buckle skill and intimidate....Double 60's take them down fast. :O Get one before the price goes up on your server!!!

this wweapon is better than the windblade up until 54 i think its is, then the windlade start to get better. this is better twink weapon, now that they changed to recomented on dmg so it only matters on crits, my 22 sk can hit for 56 with this weapon, and fast. unless your a warrior which this cant be used by. so =)
Delay has no effect on proc
# Oct 24 2003 at 2:44 PM Rating: Decent
Weapon delay has nothing to do with how often something procs. This is an old myth and im surprised to still see it around. Dex if anything is the biggest factor in how often a weapon will proc. Weapon ratio has no effect.

RE: Delay has no effect on proc
# Oct 25 2003 at 10:33 AM Rating: Decent
If this is in response to the post by Baaklar, keep in mind that he is referring to critical hits, not weapon/innate procs. If crits are determined in the same manner as procs then your comment is valid, but as far as I know, crits are based off of the number of attacks, and not off of their own specific timer.

Over the long term, a weapon with a lower delay won't proc more often than one with a higher delay, but it may crit a lot more if crits are dependent on number of swings.
RE: Delay has no effect on proc
# Apr 14 2004 at 2:39 AM Rating: Decent
Response to this and original post...

Delay INDIRECTLY effects procs ...

Each time you hit chance of a proc is based on your Dex.

If delay is low -> more times you hit -> more chances to roll the dice ... (just gotta get that lucky roll)
RE: Delay has no effect on proc
# Apr 27 2004 at 6:29 AM Rating: Good
Uhm, no. Sure, you are more likely to get lucky or unlucky streaks over a period of 5 minutes with a fast weapon. But over 1000 hours you're going to see as many procs regardless of weapon speed.

And you can't really count on procs saving you in a tight spot. Just be grateful when they do.
RE: Delay has no effect on proc
# Jun 28 2005 at 8:38 AM Rating: Default
Procs without a modifier increasing their rate (normal procs basically) proc an equal amount regardless of weapon delay. This is why two handed weapons will proc just as much during battle as a faster weapon.
# Oct 07 2003 at 6:40 PM Rating: Default
To whomever said you crit more with this fork than the Nlance...

Duh - you swing more with the fork due to the low delay, so you *should* crit more.

This is an "ok" weapon. Because the delay is below 40, you're losing a lot of damage you could be getting. If you're using this as a toy, fine, but for the damage/delay you're much better off with a 1hs and a shield. If you're playing fodder on a raid (i.e. not MT or ST) and you pull this out you should be shot. Get your 2hs and do some real damage.

Why give up the AC and stats a shield gives for a 2h weapon that does more 1h damage than not?
RE: Duh
# Nov 16 2003 at 12:55 AM Rating: Decent
well, lemme tell you something about big 2 handers DPS vs fast wep DPS.... fast wep dps is consistent... big 2 hander DPS is kindof hit and miss... you get alot of misses/riposets/blocks/dodges your dps is gonna suck, you get alot of big hits, your dps is gonna rock.... now, w/ a fast wep the fact you missed for wutever reason it doesnt impact your overal DPS near as much... so while you "can" do more dmg w/ a windblade, on average if you parse it you'll run maybe 80dps one fight... and 30 dps the next fight(assuming your tanking)...... i know, my twin parsed it w/ his SK in velks..... while on my rogue PL'ing in velks i consistently averaged 40 dps or more per fight at mid 50's... so..... while my twin "could" hit 80 dps he usually averaged around 50

I have had this since lvl 9 on my pally because there are very few 2hd pierce weapons that are faster, the dmg mitigation was'nt really a factor due to dmg cap at low lvl. now at lvl 35 my pierce is at 180 and climbing. with haste I really do some nice dmg hitting very fast anywhere from 40 to 100 90% of the hits being 50+ the damge at lvl 35 is 15dmg 22dly. very nice weapon imho. All the post saying that the windblade is the ONLY droppable 2hds paladins should consider I'd recommend they look at a Reaver and if you have a lot of cash blackend greatsword both excellent weapons! I've had a windblade.......and it ain't all that.

The great thing about piercing is that you only need 1 skill for both 1hp and 2hp. So I can use my Shard of Night and shield when I'm MT or use the pitchfork/NL when I'm support.

Actually, YOU are the one that is wrong, Moombles. Piercing, UNLIKE blunt and slashing, DOES NOT have two seperate skills for one-handed and two-handed weapons.

Both Piercing and 2H Piercing are based off of the piercing skill. Perhaps you should be the one informing yourself so that you do not misinform others. Try rolling yourself a Knight and see what skills are in his list...

I remember getting the hell abused out of me (by some very high level players) when I tried to sell a goranga spear (2hp) in the market channel not long after Luclin came out, when I suggested that it might be a fun thing for bards to try out (since it is bard usable and they have piercing)
It saddens me that people turn to abuse so quickly nowadays, both in-game and out...when someone says something that contradicts their own understanding.
Learning is an experience of contradictions... exploring them, delving and studying... and forming opinions once well informed.
Unfortunately in the world today, force of opinion seems valued more by many ppl than the opportunities of the open mind.

Picked this up on Saryrn server last night from a warrior who needed cash. Paid 1500 for it. Average price is 4k. Excellent weapon for a level 50 pali with Valor (haste) spell. Brought my pierce skill up from 11 to 38 in no time. Comparable to windblade and longblade of vitality, however those 2 are very hard to find and VERY expensive on the server. So until I can get the kind of cash, or kill something that drops them...I will stick with the fork.

Weapon Skill: Two Hand Piercing

What does a Windblade have to do with Piercing?

This is one of the better <and more common> Two hand Piercing weapons you can get / trade. As for the Windblade, yes it is a good Two hand SLASHING weapon.

The price of this weapon is Droping Fast due to the Fact, it is only for 2 classes, Sk and Pally.. you would have to be Crazy not to take up this offer if your a low to mid lvlpally or SK, and i think the Bazaar peeps are Great as life for not being able to see the worth of this weapon. My pally is now lvl 44 from Soloing KFC's and spiders in DL..., i still prefer to group but with the Wurm i had before, there is no way i could solo out there like this, my average hit, low end , is 40 to 50's, at skill 145.. Get this Weapon, PALLYs and SK's.. im thinking of starting a SK and getting this weapon it.... the DMG may suck at low lvls, but the 22 dly is well worth it. Oh yea ,i think the Wurm is still Above 1k or 1.5k .. considering the dly of this newer weapon, the wurm should BADly go down in price.

Pitchfork is selling for 2k in the bazaar on the ErolissiMarr, not a fluke price either, as the next Pitchfork was selling for 2500pp and the rest were topping out at 3k. Keep an eye on the market, as this nice weapon's price is going to keep down, chances are.

Other in Bazaar were selling the Weapon for between 2.5k to 1.2k.. But if your a Pally Around my lvl Looking for weapon for a Great Price that has Awsome Dly for your lvl GET THIS WEAPON. its WELL Worth your While and PP, Better than Any other Weapon you can buy for 1k, its Heavily underestimated...... Take it from a Pally on the Nameless server, GEt it, even if you buy it for 2k.. If you get Kei and Buy sow and Haste From a Shammy and chanter as you need it, you will see just how great it is. oh yeah, Get your Skill up first Before soloing

I just picked up one of these for my Ogre Shadow Knight, and I gotta tell ya he looks like dammed sowing machine poking the mobs with this.
It has a damage bonus of 12 at level 58 and seems to get the job done rather well. Normal hits with str maxxed are anyplace between 64 to 150's.

imho This is a very nice weapon for the class that can use it and I bet the price will rise after others see the damage it can really do in gameplay.

ps. With a name like that how could a SK resist ?

I have seen a few of these go the past few days for anywhere between 9Kpp to 10Kpp. Did I miss something and these become easily dropped and no one wants them or are people not realizing the true potential of this weapon.

I picked one up for 9Kpp and have been using it for over a week. This has become my new best friend as I am able to quickly dispatch MOB's that before took me longer and required heals so I didnt die.

IMO, if you are a Pali and can get your hands on this weapon. USE IT!!! You will see the difference quickly and watch the MOB's line up at your feet as you loot them and cackle all the way to the bank.
RE: Drop in Price???
# Feb 11 2003 at 5:07 PM Rating: Decent
Not sure but i posted an accurate price at 2500pp which is what I bought it for (Quellious). As of today Feb11 right before I logged off I saw another for the same price and the highest was 6k. Anyway in just a few hours got my piercing from a laughable 48 to 150ish. With speed of Shissar and RBG I was hitting so fast it was the most amazing thing I have experienced as an SK in all my 57 levels. Bah on the damage bonus you make up for it hitting that often. The damage bonus on my ebon mace is the same at this level (10) and no one seems to complain about that. No I can't bash so I can switch quickly if I need to, and at 59 when I get the AA's it wont matter with my 2handed bash ability. Smiley: twocents
RE: Drop in Price???
# Feb 11 2003 at 1:51 PM Rating: Default
The damage bonus to this weapon is significantly smaller than most 2-handers out there. Since a huge portion of your DPS in later levels rely on damage bonuses, having a low delay 2-hander works against you to some degree. That's why it's probably dropping in price.
RE: Drop in Price???
# Nov 26 2003 at 4:09 PM Rating: Decent
Which is something that everyone seems to forget about when they look at the ratio on this weapon. The initial prices were based strictly off the ratio, and people thought this weapon was great. It's not as great as you'd think. You will outdamage this weapon with a number of 2h'ers.

It's a respectable weapon for people on a budget or lower levels. But at the higher levels, especially post-60, you'll be carrying around something else. The Tae Ew 2h'ers both kick this weapon's butt, and aren't much more expensive.

This thing is lucky to fetch 1kpp on Tarrew Marr.

Don't let the ratio fool you. You lose out on DB with this weapon.

hard as hell to sell for 5k on Sol ro. THe Lack of a damage bonus sucks. Can pull 4X the aggro with narandis. Its overated. Dont believe the lies it has verylil damage bonus.
RE: Junk
# Feb 01 2003 at 5:32 PM Rating: Default
The dmg bonus on a weapon depends on the delay of the weapon. For example this weapon give me +10 dmg bonus, and the windblade gives me +20dmg bonus. This is because the pitchfork is exactly half the delay of the windblade, so the bonus is exactly half. If you do the math 26 dmg x2 is better that 50dmg alone
Very sweet

I sold a jade reaver I won to buy this for 18k. Best plat I ever spent. It took my 2hp from 31 to 215 in less than a week. With my RBG and Valor of Marr, this weapon smokes. I can hardly stand to use my other weaps now cause this thing puts out some serious dps. I was hitting up to 137 with HoS and Mark of the Predator on me. Holding aggro is a given. All my pally and SK friends want to borrow this but it's about the only thing I use now. Until I can get a better weap with more dps, I will stick with this baby. Highly recommend this to all the SKs and pallies out there.

This weapon, I dare say, may be better than a Windblade! I haven't yet parsed the numbers officially, but from casual observation, mobs go down just as fast, if not faster, with this weapon than with a Windblade.

Using a typical 22% haste belt, along with our pally self-haste spell (25%), this weapon strikes nearly every second. My STR is 211, I'm hitting mobs for 70-120. At level 61, I get a damage bonus of 13.

Another beautiful side effect is that, for once, you will actually see weapon spam with your name while in groups. Grouped with a rogue and a ranger, and I could actually see my name in the flurry of melee damage. We all know knights do damage slowly, in big chunks, but it sure feels good to see your name come up frequently in the melee spam.

The only downer is that this looks like a regular ol' RBF.

Windblade does more damage. Discounting the riposte and casting issues (higher dmg delay weapons give you more DPS from ripostes when tanking, and you take less damage from ripostes when tanking/fighting from the front, and paladins and SKs lose less DPS when casting midfight with higher delay weapons), a TTCP will outdamage windblade ONLY at level 53-55.

Add in the above factors, and its, at best, equivalent to windblade at those levels. It isn't really in the same league to be honest, which is why the prices of the two are generally nowhere near each other.

It is a good weapon, don't get me wrong, but windblade, narandi's lance, blackened greatsword, feartouched greatsword, windrider's lance, etc are all much better weapons.

I wonder if the fact that haste effects the delay is the reason that the 39/40 spear that drops at the end of the tenth ring war is still going for more across the board in the bazaar?

Has anyone parsed both of these with max haste. I'd really like a lance as my main weapon. I know at first glance this weapon appears far superior but if haste percentage effects the delay and leaves the damage number alone is 39/40 better than 26/22?
RE: /ponders
# Jan 26 2003 at 3:05 PM Rating: Default
Narandi's lance is 44/45 and has a proc that adds up to 6 DPS by itself. It does more damage than this weapon.

TTCP is a good weapon for the price I've seen it sold for (5-8kpp), but it is not all that great in terms of DPS output compared to other higher end droppable weapons or ToV+ no drop weapons.

I love the pitchfork so much though,,sweet for soloing I have critted for 285 so far with fork and 485 has been my hardest with Nlance i seem to crit a ton more with the fork then the lance and when I grp with the fork, mobs seem to go down a bit faster.. Like to do UP with a ranger weilding a windblade and me using pitchfork and a shammy on heals//slows..we own
Just a note to all u sk's out there...with festering darkness and pitchfork the day of the warrior tank is over...looks funny when a warrior on the **** end of a mob and u pokeing from the front..

This weapon is far from being novelty, its a very good ratio and if/when you get one and you dont have better ie, VT/Emp/Seru/etc then use it. The upper lvls of the Planes of Power hold some good weapons but not a lot are better then the ones from the very end of luclin.

This is a warning to any showdowknight who uses this, i advise you to switch weapons or to FD a lot when your NOT the main tank in an xp group, you hit really really fast with this especially with knights advantage, you WILL outaggro a warrior with sheer speed and dps.

...and I can vouch. I was grouped in an LDoN with another SK and a pally, both a few levels lower than me. Without even casting anything, or even having a proc augment, it was impossible for them to get aggro off me. I recall a point where I was just about out of mana -- had enough saved up for an FD -- and the cleric was lying there dead from an add... Basically, we decided that since we were almost done, we could take a pull -- 3 tanks should be able to handle it, considering two of them can FD and phase ourselves out, as sort of a rotation.

The other SK was using a 1-hander/shield setup, as was the pally. The SK was proccing 75 damage lifetaps fairly often, and the pally chain stunned. I started off, not even taunting, just poking away with my 2TCP (ah, yeah... Should mention the Silvery Belt of Contention...) The other two joined in the fray. After dropping to about 40% HP, I would step back and stop attacking for a few seconds so the pally and SK could try to take aggro. No dice. That mob was PISSED. Finally, I managed to fire off an FD at right about 3% HP. Whew.

Moral of the story: when you hit for 80-100 damage every 1.7 seconds, you're gonna take aggro, and odds are, you're keeping it. I love this weapon -- makes one realize that, in the low to mid 50's, Windblade is a tad overrated. Great DPS output -- I can't wait to try a WMBS, myself.
Very nice weapon, but...

One of the major advantages of two handed weapons is the damage bonus. This weapon's picture doesn't list one. I'm just curious as to where the damage bonus is?

*Note*: I know that damage bonus fluctuates based on the level of the player examining it as well as the delay of the weapon in question. Is this weapon so fast it doesn't get a damage bonus?

There probably isn't a damage bonus shown because ( possibly ) the person holding it for the SS isn't a pally or Shadow Knight.

The person holding the item was a druid.
