Its got great mana, nice HP, supporting stats and (more importantly) two resists that are hard to raise.
True druids don't smack things much, but every piece of DPS helps in a raid (especially when OOM). More importantly for those of us who solo a lot, a good weapon is nice to finish off the critters we are kiting and even helping disrupt the CH mobs we are killing like the Xi in the Maiden's Eye.
And finally the graphic rocks. If you like a great weapon that will cath everyone's eye, this is it.
It's a pretty fine weapon both dmg and stat-wise. It's no replacement for the epic BUT not everyone will bother to do the epic. Further, no one expects a priest class to tank anything (we arent meat shields after all); but when a little extra dps means faster kills and thusly faster pulls and more xp, this certainly helps.
The priest classes were designed to mostly cast, but with melee capabilities that are nothing to sneeze at. In a reg xp grp, my 65 druid casts her dots, grabs a haste and helps the tank hit. Damage mitigation total is about 500 per tick all told - hits with epic and haste range from 20 to 85 per hit. Not too shabby for caster.
Uhhh, clerics with high AC and hps can most definitely tank in a pinch (how else are they supposed to solo). They are, after all, a plate class. But as a cleric, though the stats are nice, I wouldn't give it up for my summoned hammer if I'm going to be meleeing. Number one, the summoned hammer has a lower delay and the same damage, so it's going to hit more often. Also, it has a proc, which procs very often. And if we're dealing with undeads, well move over Sally, cuz the cleric is gonna be putting out a decent amount of dps once he gets swinging with Yaulp 6 and a haste. There's a reason why BB LDoNs go by so quickly with a pally/cleric combo. ;-)
i played a druid to 60 and if i was to even think about using my weapon instead of keepin people alive then boom....this weapon has pretty decent stats dont care about the att/del or weather its blunt or not

Posted:Nov 27 2002 at 7:58 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) as a Druid, after level 20, I focused myself completely on becoming a finger wiggler. With an item such as this usable by the priest classes only is retarded. I don't believe any shaman wasted his/her time getting the cudgels, they're very nice. I also think why bother giving this to clerics when they can summon those awesome hammers. Druids, by the time they're high enough to procure this, they've either got a Velious bracer, or ES arms, that finishes mobs a lot faster than trying to beat it up. Seriously, who do you know thats a druid or cleric that would go mono e mono with an Elysian or Shak Drathor?
Time to lay off the herbal cigaterres my friend. First of all the damage ratio on this thing is very respectable, which is nice for anyone that bothered to learn how to hold and use a weapon from day 1. Second, its got the stats. I mean 10 wisdom and 70 mana, come on thats nothing to laugh at, even if your 1hb skill is a whopping 12, its worth holding, not to mention the saves on it. Now on the the pretty part; IF you can use a weapon for more than its looks then its even more valuable. No, no one expects a druid or cleric to step into the frey and melee a boss enounter, but if that not the only pace you ever hunt then this may come in handy. Lets say you are a treehugger, shammy, or even cleric, and you are hanging out it in what is considered a lesser zone for you, and a damn green skelly wandery by to interrupt you peaceful medding. Do you really want to waste your mana on this skinny excuse of a creature? Wouldnt it be nice to just whack it a few times and get back to your studies. Sure if you a are a druid and have some of your ES you can just click it, but this isnt just for druids, and how little self respect can you have knowing you have obtained over 50 levels but still cant melee a level 13 mob to death witout taking a few hits and getting interrupted. 'Tis a sad sad thing to watch someone of great level that was in such a hurry to get there that they cant defend themselves from the most trivial of enounters. Learn a skill, keep a skill, dont use your skill on bosses.
Being a druid on pvp melee is very important to me When I fight casters I can easily melee them for 100+ with my crudgle I got off va'dyn, so melee for a druid is definately situational, but if U play real eq(pvp) you will realize a weapon with such a low delay and not bad damage is awsome for trying to stop them wizzies from gating
Heh, good points both of you, but I keep a leafrunner scimitar handy to beat stuff up anyways, 8 seconds is a long cast on your ES arms and 9 seconds is kinda long and overkill on epic.. but PvP is a different story, I usually just root the wizzy and send in my epic monk friend to finish him off.. lol
