You take a large hit in AC for having agility at or below 75, this includes when you reach your carrying capacity and start to lose agility for every stone you are encumbered. You also gain sligh bonuses in AC for each 5 points of agility between 75 and 100 and then after that nothing really big until you get above say 150 agility. What this means is it may not be a bad idea to have 100 or slightly higher agility in full fighting gear and the more agility you have above that the less of an AC hit you will take for being encumbered.
Monk?

Would these boots be good for a monk?
Thanks!

The awesome thing about being a human monk is that at lvl 40ish you get about 1ac for every agility you get... so these boots become 11ac 1wt boots plus the fact that the 10agi gets you hit less. im not certain about iksar monks but for the weight and ease to get, these are great boots.

The weight leaves something to be desired, but as an Iksar monk, I have found agi can be worth the hit, or more specifically, the lack of hits you'll be taking with high agi.

well anyway, in brief I say they are great and plan to get a pair

just my 2cp

Just curious as to what mobs drop these boots. I see that "multiple creatures" drop them but none are listed specifically.

Can anyone clarify and give me at least a couple specific mobs i should hunt for these?

i got mine from a brute. don't remember which type though. was right by the dreadlands entrance, i was having my pet kill things out of boredom while i was waiting for a friend.

Yes, agi does improve your ac. But for you to realy notice a differance you have to have 150agi or above, at that point you get an ac bonus. Post 150agi though I believe for every 3agi you get 1ac. And agi does help roll vs attacks and raise your chance of dodge/parry.
RE:lol - AGI = AC

My cleric just got ardent gloves and I was surprised to see that at 12 AC the gloves were giving me 47 ac. The gloves have +5 agi.

For contrast my 13 ac tunic has an effect of 17 on my AC (no agi bonuses on tunic)

so the 5 agi added about 30 ac.

35th level dwarf with 79 agi

Actually, from what you said, you had an Agility of 74 before the Gloves. When you have a stat below 75, you take large penalties. So when you got your Agility over 75, you saw the big jump in AC because the penalty was removed.
+8Wis boots

Are these part of a quest for some +8Wis boots?

There is only 2 boots you could be thinging about.
There is eboots 9 wis 9 int. This is not a quest. They drop in sol b.
or 8 int 8wis 15 mana boots. and all I'll tell you about these is they are in velious - good hunting :)

I think the guy too important to share was referrin to Coldain Skin Boots: (Wt 2.50. +3 AC, +8 Wis, +8 Int, +35 Mana, MAGIC All Classes. All Races.) ONly ones I know of drop with that kinda wisdom add in Velious.

The boots here are not used for any quest that I ever heard of, tho I may be incorrect. The closest I have seen to these +8 wis boots are the coldain and the Golden Efreeti. Sorry bro.

1ac and 10agi...hehe.
well the theory goes that agi is ac but ive never seen it myself. i also hear that agi helps dodge/parry/riposte etc...can anyone verify that?

To test the fact that agility helps armor class just put on some agility rings that do not have any AC. I am not sure if agility helps with dodge/parry/riposte skills but it does seem that with my monk that has higher agility he does not get hit as often as my monk with more strength.

My use for them is so I can kick magic only critters with my monk. They could give me -50Cha and I wouldn't care so long as they are magic and lightweight.
