Planes of PowerIf I already had better equipment at the level required to gain access to PoV, why the H**L would I bother hunting there? After all, by most people's logic, I should have Elemental gear by the time I am level 50.
I am tired of everyone assuming EVERY level 50-something character has already hit all the uber raiding zones, AND managed to win all the rolls on items that 30 other people in the raid are rolling for.
AND, not every 50ish character can afford the 35K for a Windblade for god's sake. In most zones, xp flows faster than pp. More than half my equipment is from drops, not bought in the frikking Bazaar.
People who make posts about what equipment you should have by Level XX are actually one or more of the following:
A) Already twinked to high heaven and/or belong to a Elemental/PoTime guild
B) Are greedy people trying to find an excuse to force a GREED roll on an item they can't use and that is a clear upgrade to another party member.
C) Trying to discourage others from camping the mob(s) so they have less competition while they farm the drops.

no. By 55 (when you can access valor) you should easily be able to afford a war marshall's bladed staff, or another 1:1 ratio weapon. a WMBS runs about 4k-5k on firiona currently. In addition, wars,pals, and sks can all pick up 1 ratio weapons for under a hundred plat.

Well you guys may not think this sword to be very good, but i was chillin in ME one day with my lvl 50 warrior & some guy just GAVE it to me. Now i may not have any chance of going to where this thing drops, but for a gift from a complete stranger, id say its quite nice. Plus if i have a shaman behind me i can hit purdy hard quite fast. o and atop sayinf you CANT use it until 53, you CAN and the stats arent lessened much either.

recomended means that you can equip the item but you will recive penalty on the weapons dmg and stats if you below 53. now if the weapons said requierd lvl of 53 that means that you have to be 53 to be able to equip it. at 53 nobody will be going to st, specially with the guilds racing for st keys i would say this is a very good weapon to get till you hit st or what not also remember that there is a lot of casual players, that are not in a st capable guild so this is a good alt.

Items that can't be equiped until a certain level state "required level **", "recommended level **" just means the weapon isn't fully capable until said level.
Anyway, this weapon is probably considered to drop for selling/twinking by the people that can take the mob. "twinking" items that drop off high end mobs isn't something new to the game, and were never considered to be an upgrade for the people in the group/raid. Everyone needs a bank account.
Also, PoV is a very easy zone to get into, ST requires time and a strong guild

Anyone know if this is usable below 53 with lesser stats or is it like the Axe of Dismay and cannot actually be equipped until 53?
I think this is a semi-decent weapon and would be better if it was not a 2hander and didn't have the lvl 53 requirement the resist are outstanding but there should be more stats i can't complain about the hit/damage ratio.

Dude, you can make comments like this with any item. Well, umm gee, it would be alot better if it had 100 more AC and 30 less delay, and procced a 100pt DD. You aren't contributing anything by saying nonsense like this, wishing doesn't make it so. LOL its funny, none of the 3 characters you list are melee, much less over 53 for you to be saying this is only "simi-decent". It's semi-, btw.

Hmm. 34/35<1 ergo most people able to attain this have much better. Ive seen windblade 50/44 for sale in the bazaar for 32k. Plus what tank able to attain this would use it over MDS which is 1hs 28/30 I think, plus a shield with MAAAD stats, especially if they are tanking? Warriors wouldnt use a shield, but they wouldnt use 2hs unless against DSed mobs. Against DSed mobs though, they'd want something with higher damage and delay. Knights tanking would use 1hs and a shield, or a sword with better stats. Warriors would dual wield or use something with higher damage and delay. Thus, I agree with the first poster: this weapon aint so hot

umm scuse me, but since when does every item that drops off a mob have to be suitable for the level of character needed to drop them?? This is just another example of a decent weapon that would most likely be sold, and not used to upgrade, which is exactly what I said in my post if you bothered to take the time to read it instead of dog on it. There's tons of mobs in the games where the drops are rather weak in comparison with the firepower required to down them.... but so what, someone somewhere would benefit from this item. And no, I don't think that necessarily everyone that would be on the fight with this mob would EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM have something better than this.

all i was saying this doesn't meet up to the risk vs. reward that i would expect from the encounter it takes to get the sword and it has a lvl requirement of 53 so even if you sold it who would buy it, i am not saying that someone wouldn't but it would not be flying out of your trader's sachel in my opinion.

Okay mister give me at least three examples that this would be an upgrade from, considering you have to be basically 55 plus to get this and would have probably done an epic are in a guild where you have slain most of the dragons in norrath, kunark and velious and more than likely hit VT, so really in comparision to the weapon drops there this isn't entirely that great, with the exception of the saves. it was my opinion on the weapon anyway i really didn't need a flaming response to it. and hitting below the belt by going off on my spelling seems childish when you are typing it occasionally happens that you will misspell a word. and i didn't say it would be better if it had this or that just that i think it would be a better 1hander and it should lose the lvl requirement.
and so what if i don't have a melee class i don't have to play one to understand the basics of playing one and actually i have a cleric that is 60 that i don't play much lately with all the other characters i have started look me up on the TP server the name is faldor. he isn't on my signature because it wouldn't all fit.

roflmao.... I KNOW you slipped that 60 cleric in since I last saw your post... a little creative editing?? please, if I had a 60 cleric (which I do), it would be the first char I listed. As for all you flamers.... you blindly assume that whoever downed the mob that dropped this sword has all those uber weapons that you spout off as if they lend some competency to your argument. Ok, I don't doubt that a few people in that particular guild/group had some of those. But are you going to sit there and say all of them did???

okay you moron i am sick of your flame if you don't like the opinion that i state just vote it off and quit wasting space, first off my cleric is no longer my main i am sick of playing the healer i wanted something more offensive that is while it is not on my top list you **** if you don't believe me you can look me up on the tholuxe paells server almost everyday his name is faldor so that should end that arguement if you don't like that then you can sit on you thumb. and secondly why don't you think about it most of the guild that are in the plane of valor or most of the others are the uber guild and most eveyone else is just waiting there turn, just like always in eq guilds like afterlife, triton, FoH and many of the other controling guilds get into any new zones first and the rest of the players are left to get there turns as time allows so most players will have gotten something better along the way. and iall i said was it would be better if it was a 1 hander so that it would have more of a usefulness seeing as most classes mainly play with 1hander, i didn't say anything about less delay, rangers usually have finely honed there 1hander skill by the lvl it takes to get this, most warriors usually use 1handers so that they can have 2 weapons. pallys/sk are the only ones that i can see maybe using this and even then there are many more weapons they would use.
