Price is way off...I've been trying to sell one for 12k for over a week now on Bristlebane, looks like I'm gonna have to drop it to 10....the reason probably being I saw several Bloodmetal Earrings of Engagement for only 16-17k last night. I wouldn't pay 12k for this either if I could get the Bloodmetal for only 4-5K more.
You have got to be kidding me on this price! I just picked one up for 4k on Kane bayle...um...did i get a bargin or is this price just way distorted? Rok on!
You got an amazing deal bud. This sells for over 15k regularly. Not uncommon to see it 20k and over on KB. Grats on your find though :=) Im sure price will go up as more PP hits the market. Were a young server.
Prices on items in high demand and with low availability rise as more platinum is introduced into the player pool (i.e., what is commonly referred to as "inflation"), but the relative value of easily available items will simultaneously drop, meaning that, while prices on a few items will continue to rise (e.g., drops from the Elemental Planes or Vex Thal, items which are in much greater demand than what the market is able to supply), many other items will gradually become available for even less platinum.
An example is the Bloodmetal Earring of Engagement, which sold for 70,000 pp on Firiona Vie half a year ago, but which now can be had for a mere 12,000 pp, half of that if you do the combine yourself and simply buy the components. There are simply too many of those earrings available, so sellers keep dropping prices to expand the circle of prospective buyers.
aye this dropped today ..nice earring but mob wasnt slowable ..also seemed to spawn some little helpers every 30 seconds or so would have been a definate upgrade to my val shir cya online

being a warrior i'd rather have the +5ac and +2 sta and the sv disease helps against slows ...my magic resist is already high enough - no doubt this is still a great earring!

Being a 65th level paladin with 1450+ AC, I couldn't care less about 5 raw AC more or less. After you reach the so-called AC soft cap (which is well below 1450 AC), it takes about 35 raw AC to improve your damage mitigation by one single percent.
As for two points of Sta, it wouldn't make any difference to me, considering I am already at the Stamina cap when enjoying shaman buffs. Do note, this is not at all unusual in the 60+ level game; Sta is simply too damned easy to get via newer items and shaman buffs. Dex and Agi, on the other hand, are much harder to pump to 305 unless you have an enchanter at hand to cast Night's Dark Terror or the like--and even that only takes care of Dex.
Of course, the above is not of much concern to players of fully Elemental-geared characters, but then again, players deciding between Mosquito Leg and Iron Scream earrings most likely don't even have their first Elemental drop yet. ;)
Slow spells (except for 2 inferior, "special use" spells) save against MR, NOT DR. If you want to resist slow you should have you MR as high as possible. Since the beginning of the game it has saved vs. MR. The fact that it is cured with cure disease was added much later, so melee would have some option once they were hit with it. They never changed the resists, though.
You are correct, which is something I've recently been struggling with as an up and coming shaman (55) now. Just learned recently that the slow is magic resist based (except for Plague of insect (54) and Cloud of Grummus (61). I always thought they were diesease because they add disease counters and are cured by remove disease spells.
