Rembmer ppl these armor pieces and sets(crafted Ravenscale, lambent) are all an upgrade from the rubicite that used to drop in Cazic Thule, and all the pieces were just ac(still not as high as crafted i dont think) cept bp which was crap. it had a fatigue regen effect,....ok but rather pointless
SSB is the Skull Shaped Barbute (AC: +13, Magic Resist: +10, HP: +35) - see http://eqdb.allakhazam.com/item.html?item=1494. AC is 1 lower than the Crafted Helmet, but the rest of the stats are way more appropriate for a warrior (who needs Wis and Cha?!).
Us wars need cha for some things. Like if we want ta buy sumthin the higher ur cha is the lower the price. With my war i got 2 opal encrusted steins(Cha +25 each) and it helps a bunch. The higher cha would also help when u want to buy components for any trade skill.

Ro server, the names Sanroth, Im in Lake of Ill Oman at the time and Im gonna stay there till im at least 30. I was wondering if anyone was selling this? I have about 350pp-???pp so I was wondering if anyone is trying to get rid of one because I really want one, if you could send me a tell b4 /auc... thanks
It's not a matter of what level should you stop wearing crafted. It's a matter of at what level do you have the money for gear better than crafted, as you get more money, buy better stuff. But at level 24 i feel crafted will last you another good 6 levels.
Never ever sell this item for less then the value of a Ruby.
Enchaters can buy them for 131 pp because of there high cha (107 plus)
Say you are hunting for exp in sol a, and happens to get quest item. You will still have to take the time to buy the Ruby, get a port to North Karana, and run to the quest npc.
The 150 pp in the nuttay, post just stupid.
19 pp is all your think it is worth for someone to do the quest for you ?
19 pp for all what ? Neck you probaly already spent the 19 pp on the port.
You war's spend more time tanking, or baking bread!! Ac is nice, but at lower lvl's a SSB is more realistic to have, then juice up ac on another piece of armor and get a Crested or Leutenant helm wich has lower ac but +'s to str dex and sta, the stats you need for fighting. Nice ac on this helm, what a waste of stats, wouldn't buy this for more than 150
And I disagree. I think the +1ac and +2svMag are going to do a little more for me than +35hp. Plus, I like the look of having full crafted. Charisma and wisdom are useless in battle, but they do have their uses elsewhere. Hell, you could have both and keep the crafted in the bank for trade skills if you want. Still worth getting the fire totem and spending a little on a ruby.
Except that the SSB has +10 sv magic. So basically, you are saying 1ac is more important than 35hp and +8 sv magic. I don't buy it. This helm is good, but ssb has a slight edge. Would I trade this out for an SSB if I had a full set of crafted, probably not, since they are so close in stats, but I would buy the ssb before this. Also, SSB's are now selling for less than the ruby on Rodcet Nife (have bought 4, none over 100, 70 avg).
MHO- Each has its own strengths and weaknesses-i have had both and as a warrior i gotta believe the extra +1 Ac equals out the +35 Hp--The real Advantage to the crafted Helm is the +5Chr for extra money from vendors when buying or selling, and the extra +5 Wis which again means easier to learn skills/ more successes/ and as a result more money saved and gained again --MHO

The point of having a full suit of any armor. Lambent, Deepwater, Crafted, or whatever, is to put each stat into the green. CHA helps regardless of class/race. Yoy always need it when buying. WIS will help advancement of trade skills, which u also need...maybe not as much, but it helps.
As a dwarven craftsman, I need all the help I can get in those two stat fields.
I have a base 45 CHA, so the +5 gets me to the borderline of 50 CHA. Tack on a Crude Stein (+15 Cha) and a splitpaw necklace(+5 Cha), and I'm up to 70 CHA. This helps get the lower prices when buying metal sheets and molds for smithing, and higher returns on loot selling to merchants.
As for Wisdom, since my WIS is higher than my INT, my rate of improvement will be based off WIS. So +5 WIS would help me here too.
Yes, dumb hack-n-slash types wouldn't need such a thing and would think it "stupid", but us smart craftsmen long for this item. To each their own!
Oh, and the 14 AC is nice for us lower-level tanks too!
The SSB is a better Helm, and goes from 150-300pp I only use this when working on trade skills for the cha when buying parts and wis to increase in level faster.
I believe he is refering to the better prices he gets from merchants for items to practice trade skills due to the +5 chr buff. And the +5 wis giving benefits to practicing skills.
