Bought this last week for 3900pp nice buy, very nice looking weapon, long 2hd Hilt (brown)broad long blade with glyhps runing down the lenght in the same colour as blade (silver). The first time I used it was soloing in PoJ I have a 202 skill in 2hds, well I think it was a range issue because for the 1st half of the fight I was swinging like a mad man but not landing! so I bagged it and thought bah it's crap!! a few days later was in a group and tried using it again with MUCH better results hitting in the low 60's to over 200.

When you see an item that says recommended level, there is an easy way to tell whether you can equip it at lower levels.
Come to this site and look up the drop location. If it says CAZIC THULE, then recommended really means required. If it says anything else, then you should be able to equip it.
Notice every example given of an "I couldn't equip it before 51" is a Cazic Thule drop: Boots of flowing slime, this weapon, prelate's lantern, prelate's rubicite helm, etc....
Ever non-Cazic Thule item I have ever tried, has equipped fine, at below the recommended level.

there are exceptions to this, i.e. barbed rubicite pauldrons,which claim reccomended, and are infact reccomended.

I believe, although I cannot say entirely for certain, that this weapon looks like Ashbringer. I have the TCGS, but not ashbringer, so I can't compare the two.
TCGS drops off of the Thul Tae Ew Crusader, which I saw spawn in the Avatar Pyramid area. He also dropped TWO Thulian Crusader earrings at the same time as the sword.

This sword, along with any other "level recommended" weapon, CANNOT BE USED before the recommended level. Yes, we know it says "recommended" but they should really think of changing that to "required".
We all know Verant is on crack sometimes, and this is a good case. They've even implemented a penalty system to reduce damage / stats of the weaponry that is tagged "recommended"... yet it cannot be equipped until that level is met.
I don't know if they intend to fix this, or not, but as it stands, you can't use recommended weaponry until that level, at all. You get a message "Your class / deity / race cannot equip this".

Not true...I gave my baby ranger twink a Blessed Faydark Thunderbolt at first level which has a recommended level of 20. He did just fine with it, although you are correct that the stats dropped to 1 and increased up to the correct stats as he progressed in levels. Even though the weapons damage stats said they were reduced, with the real stats in (), he still hit for 30-31 points of damage, same as he did when he made 20th level and lost the damage cap and with full stats on the weapon. It may be that certain weapons can be equiped and others can not...this might happen on a per weapon basis.

I'm a 48 TSK and when I try to equip this weapon I get a message saying my class, diety and/or race cannot equip this item. The recommended level is 51, but that shouldn't mean required. There is no mention of a required diety. My diety is Cazic-Thule BTW. My guess is that this item has a requirement of 51+.

Anybody else see something wrong with a pally and an SK either one being able to use this? Figure they would be diametrically opposed to trying for the same weps.
While shadowknights may be evil, they're still Knights with a strict code of honor, much like paladins.

I guess I have to agree with you here. Since my original post I have been playing an SK in the manner of which you speak and I have noticed that it really messes with some player's perspectives. Others seem to be genuinely astonished to meet an SK who has manners and shows others the respect they are due. But it sure is fun being bad when its called for (or really fun)! BLOOD! BLOOD! BLOOD!

And where did you get your RP ideas? A Shadowknight stab someone in the back? That comment, I pose, reflects more on the way you would play the game than on how those of us who have chosen to play Knights approach it.
You obviously have never played either of these classes...perhaps a little reading is in order to know more what you're talking about.

actually, i dont see any conflict of interest, crusader is a type of knight, and paladins and shadowknights fill those rolls, one good, the other evil, (thats open to discusion of course), and i see nothing wrong in both sides vieing for a sword as awesome as this :) all i got to say is i hope im able to go to cazic one day and see some of the nice loot droping there, even if i dont get a roll, just to see it :)
I wonder what this sweet weapon might go for. Not like I can envision anyone selling it anytime soon. Maybe a trade if you happen to get something better!!! I guess I may have to head to Cazic Thule here soon lol.

Times have changed, got a Narandi's lance in a trade, and I couldn't sell it for the life of me, so I traded for this. (Mostly because I'm an Iksar SK heh) Prolly wasn't a good trade, but this seems much rarer, I can equip it soon, my 2hs skill caps better I think, and I love the name and origin.

On firiona vie you'd see that in bazaar for 10k tops.. Altho you see Primal weapons etc selling for 25k-30k , but hey on FV they arent no drop.
