With the huge patches in the first quarter of '04, the effect is now +30 attack, 40% worn haste. http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=28937
For the record, bards can sing 1,2 or 3 hastes. The first is regualr spell haste, the second is stacking non-cap raising spell haste, and the 3rd is stacking cap-raising spell haste. The odds of you ever seeing a bard sing all three are slim. Often they will sing two, though.
The other posters are correct, you only get the highest % from each (added up to the cap). If you get two icons with a haste% (not including the 'stacking' songs) only the highest is in effect, however, the presence of both icons indicates one or more of the other stat bonuses are being supplied.
This is a pretty solid BP, though not as desirable as it once was, the majority of Clerics in my guild have opted for Jennys' Two Tone Cuirass from Grieg and the tanks are ever holding out for an Aten or Seru, or are reluctant to upgrade their Eradication BP's with this. I grabbed it to upgrade a Vindi BP, but am still a little leary as it has no resists. It has a few more hps than the vindi, but a bit more AC, 40% haste a bit more attack - and for me the clincher was the extra mana.
The customisable plate from LDON is also a viable alternative.
Alright... looking at this item, the haste effect on Fury of the Vah Shir is WORN. But, Fury of the Vah Shir is a haste SPELL. Now, I'm just curious, since you do not have to proc this spell to get the haste, would it still stack with haste items, like a CoF, or would it just take one over the other, because they're both worn?
Just remember that all haste items that have (worn) on them do not stack with other haste items reguardless if the haste is also a spell.
Only 1 haste item, 1 spell, and 1 bard song stack for haste.
I know someone is going to say that you can stack 2 spell haste so let me diffuse that one right away. For example you can have Yaulp VI and Spirit of Shissar stack. But the haste on each of those spells do not stack. Same for SoS and Monk epic. They stack but the the haste's are not added together. You only get the additional benefits from both spells not the haste.
bah, no point in trying to difuse that. Seems many people like to live with their illusions and fully believe the haste stacks reguardless of what you tell them.
Epics for the most part are obsolete by 60, if not earlier. Granted, this isn't a BL item, but seeing epic stuff pop up on more powerful items is actually a good thing for the most part, since most people have replaced their epic by the time they're getting stuff at this level.
Even if the haste isn't 40-42 % i think it is just wat too cool of an item. Haste on a BP is so cool AND 60ac on a BP is so cool. Too bad VI didn't do as good of a job on all of luclin as they did with Vex Thal. I really think they they need to have a look at the ways that they made these items better in how to improve all of eq. The effect and new distribution of stats on Vex Thal items is the best that VI has done on any expansion.

What I want to know is why even bother with reccomended lvl of 60? All the VT items are no drop. The chance of a player lower then lvl 60 even getting into VT is slim to non IMO due to all that is involved in even getting the key. Am I just missing something here?
I've seen a screenshot of a lvl 4 beastlord in Vex Thal. No joke. All you woul dneed to do is have lots of high lvl budies that let you loot. Of course they'd be stupid to do that, but hey, who can tell what uber guilds are like?
Kinda of like seeing lv 1 Characters being brought to Thurg so they can be ready to loot Dain Drops. It happens. Nothing is Impossible if you can figure out how to make it happen. /shrug
It's a RECCOMMENDED Level of 60 not required! So basically a level 55er or so could use this with most of the stats, although I wouldn't be too sure of the effect working fully or even at all till 60. And yeah, I've seen plenty level 57-59 players in VT raids before. Due to the extreme need for players on VT raids, it's not surprising to see lower level characters on a raid with such as this level requires.
well for only one reason i can think of at least..... prolly cuz since i dunno if necessarily true that each member of magister has their own key? but if not, a guild who does their key and goes in could possibly bring some lower levels in there to get the uber gear? i dont know who necessarily would do that but its prolly meant to prevent it anyways....
Although i am sure if i ask Magister nicely..... they'll bring my lvl 34 wizard on a few trips ;) /sarcasm off
