Thank you for stating that so well! I myself am a new player to this game. My highest lvl character is a 29 druid, and I just became the proud owner of my 20 lvl enchanter (I did lvl her there but it took forever it seems). I get a bit tired of the uber gaming. I was fortunate enough to know someone whose handmedowns I ended up with...which at lvl 6 meant I lived. But since then I have fought for everything and I tend to make my own way. I personally looked at this armor and thought *wow this stuff is pretty good*. But then my limited experience may have something to do with that. I will be incredibly excited when they get the other starting lvl armor quests up and running for the caster classes. My bard is decked out in her new starting armor (very green). More likely than not, you are right, Like face gear, head gear is hard to find for a caster. So are shoulders and feet. So my comment to those who take on this quest... GO FOR IT!!! The point of the game is to have fun. If you don;t have fun doing this quest... then stop. If you do however and gain a bit of experience on the way ... EXCELLENT! Good luck and may there always be a sower nearby:)

Yeah, the problem is that gathering the items is so frustrating and time consuming that even when there are few options for that slot (pants come to mind), it's rarely worth it to spend the effort getting things. People don't seem to keep the items that do drop and don't hunt the rares in places like Mons... if the quests were made easier, I agree, they'd be nice for those hard-to-file slots.
Why some..

Why some of these items, even though they are not very good, may be helpful is when there is a slot not very found for a certain class.

For example, pure casters that are poor and actually playing the game instead of being an auction master or ebaying **** may not find easy.

Not saying helms are not easy to find, there is Runed Cowl, Platinum Blue Diamond Tiara, and others but something like shoulders, cloak, sash etc. might be helpful.

So before you diss this armor, think of the less fortunate players who may think this is amazing armor, because in its own essence, it is really pretty good if you look at it from a level thirty-fourty standpoint.

Not everyone has tens of thousands of platinum pieces stored away in their bank, along with kael uber loot and ssra weps. So just remember, when you diss this stuff, think of what you were like at level thirty or so with your first character, and maybe you will re-evaluate your thinking pattern.

For me, yeah, I wouldn't be caught dead in this, because the path in EverQuest was different, at level fifty-three on my warrior I was in full champions, crescent blades of luclin, frostbringer, cloak of flames and other very high end equiptment. My path was an auctioneer, a trader, but I always respect the items of others.

So basically, just don't diss this armor, it will make lots of enchanters feel fortunate and "decked out" becuase what do you know, it could be replacing a cloth cap!

Very well said. I for one took the path you mention, with few exceptions my gear reflects the areas that I have been fighting. This is a route that I chose. I hate EC/Gfay/trade channel, I have on occasion sold some items and attempted to buy a few, but was dis-heartend by the whole experiance. I gain much more pleasure by giving away the drops that I get to my guild members or selling at a low cost. Plus I have the satisfaction of knowing that I actually killed the MoB that dropped the gear that I am wearing.

Hear, hear
25% of my stuff is still raw silk at lvl 43 because I quest or get my gear in drops. I have spent all my money in jewelery skill so I don't have money to spend nor do I want to spend my time shopping. The only thing that I bought was my opal encrusted stein. I got some very nice drops in GM events and guildies bought me an ubber robe to thank me for getting my jewelry skill up for the guild. I consider myself a lucky chanter in deed even if I haven't been able to upgrade some slots yet.
