Yeehaw! I was the first gnome to finish all of these quests on the Brell Serilis server, and all in all, the full suit adds 12 str 21 agi 2wis 10hp, not bad for a newbie suit.
lol - checke this for game balance ! Halfling Ranger BP is a meagre AC 12 Wis+1 Str+1, HP+5..... Stats on halfling BP are Ac 12 Str+11 Wis+1 HP+,5 too !
If assuming all the Newbie armour quest are of near identical difficulty to the chars and classes attempting them, then this is way imbalanced as far as benefits go. Not that I envy the little gnome runts their "holy armour", they need every edge they can get their grubby hands on, but still, this is one mean BP to get your hands on before level 20. Faydark ringmail from FV is probably the only other questable armour before 20, and it has similar AC with weaker stats (who need CHA on armour but bards ).
I mean, if Verant is implementing new armour quests for newbies, shouldn't there even be a fig leave of fairness in their usefulness ?
Keep in mind the races/classes. ie - a dwarf paladin has much more starting str and hp than a gnome paladin. Hence, their armor has lesser stats. Eventually it all evens out that all races of the same class will have similar stats and equivalent sacrifices.
Could really use a revamp. All they have is frogloks way out there that aggro like crazy, roaming ksing guards, and rare, higher level spawns that like to own newbs. It really hurts them in the newbie gear department. No real good newbie troll quests, save the Beastlord ones recently added.
Hmm, this also adds a little sheesh to the PvP servers. This really isn't bad newbie gear, especially for Rallos guys. For Tallon I won't expect too much trouble from guys twinked with this, but it should help them slightly. Oh well,
Rumor (rumour for our Brit friends) has it that VI is gonna update all the newbie zones, so no worries. I'm gonna bet they will.
Out of all the places that really need it, though, I'd say Toxx should have been at the top of the list, with Nektulos and Innoruuk/Feerott coming in close second and thirds.
While Toxx and Nektulos (pre change) tie for my least favorite newbie zones, I think that Steamfont won the revamp contest in part due to the added classes. They had to add new quests/NPC's for the Pal's and SK's anyway, so might as well do the whole area at once. At least that's the best logic I can come up with since I have long considered SF one of the better zones to level up in.
well everyone was beggings VI to expand those newbie quests that the halfling and DE's have looks like they might go all the way or maybe just do evil and short races.
