As mentioned below, clicking this item requires a player target. Clicking this item buffs the target with the effect "Enhanced Minion XIII" -- even if target has no pet up at all, the buff still lands on the target (duration for me was 5+ hours). Assumption is any and all focusable pets summoned for the duration of the effect benefit from the advanced focus.
I summoned an 86 air pet on my 86 mage, and it popped out as a red con! Sweeeet. :)
Does the effect on pets last through logging? In other words, if I summon an enhanced pet and then suspend it, will it still be enhanced to the same amount next time I log in and un-suspend it? Does the effect on the pet fade after 5 hours?
I used one of these with my level 86 necro and the spell unliving murderer....my pet went from being a dark blue conning zombie to a light blue conning shade...Is it bugged? This doesn't seem right. I expected it to stay at least DB if not go up to even con and I expected it to stay a zombie.

It's 2018 and the same thing happened on my 86 Necro. The pet I had up was dark blue and I dismissed it, cast the spell on me, summoned a new pet and it was light blue.
To use this, do you cast it on the pet? or do you cast this on the caster, increasing their pet modifier so they summon a stronger pet? this has always confused me...
As with other similar items, you target the caster. It's worth noting, however (and this is only afaik) that only Beastlords, Necromancers and Magicians can have focused pets. It won't affect any of the other classes that can summon them (enc, sk, dru etc..)..
