Someone who is lagging badly WILL lag behind someone who has a faster connection/processor/videocard... but only in those zones that are laggy (i.e. EJ, TT, etc.). In MOST cases, there is no difference between someone on a 28.8 and someone on a T3. And the person on a T3 who runs a crappy system will actually lag behind someone on a 28.8 with a good system.
Aloradus is right in general though. EQ regulates the run speed such that this UO "cheat" can't occur.
Might not be the right spot for this but i got to ask. Is there some kind of encumberance lvl like monks have for beastlords? I swear i get out run everytime when me and a group travel anywere. Its not like i am over wieght i normally run no more then 85 stones of my 135 limit. Any info on this or werei can find info on it would be great
I dont know the answer to your running question but ive noticed the same thing. if everyone in my group has the same sow or spirit of billy, my barb shammy can give everyone a good head start and then not only catch up with them but will then start to pull away from them and nobody is encumbered. I always have people telling me to stop or slow down so they can catch up.
No. There is none. I keep seeing this come up, and I suppose it is because a lot of people think that BL's are a cross between a monk and a shaman, but they are not really. About the only thing they got from monks really, was the Hand-to-hand usage. They did not get the weight/armor limits, the feign, the mend, nor the special attack forms.
So even if you are running 110 or 133 out of your 135 limit, you should be good to go. :)
This started way back when they were first talking about the Beastlords class, it was mentioned several times by developers that they would have wieght restrictions but not as much as a monk, however sometime between when they were comming up with the class and SoL release they decided not to have the WT restrictions for whatever reasons. As far as the monk + shammy combo thing is concerned, I thnik they were talking about them being leather based and doing more damage with H2H weapons and having ver high ratio weapons available to them. they have in general the same armor restrictions as monk tho they do not have to worry about wieght. Monk can wear alot of things in theory that they choose not to due to wieght but that is a more practical limitation then a limitation on the "class" list itself. They are more like monks in terms of gear restrictions and available weapon ratios then any other class, tho you are right in that they dont have and of the class abilities that define monks.
A high difference in AGI score does make a slight difference in movement rate, even over 75 AGI. It's really slight and the only way to really see it is to be under a high level selo and to run straight forward in a flat zone, there you'll see it.
Anyway i tend to think that in your case, it's more a lag problem, kitty models are quite laggy, especially the Luclin ones.
And as it has already been said, there's nothing like a weight limit for the BST.
I play a 52 bst as my main and I have noticed that the heavier I get the less I hit and the more I get hit. I am not talking about being overweight and losing agi either. /shrug who knows maybe it is just me but I would say we do have a slight weight penalty as the monks do. and as far as us not having the alot of the monks abilities we get the shaman spells and pets imagine what we would be like with the monks special kicks and punches =P.
