For someone in there teens to mid 20's looking to gain faction in qeynos and they are slaughtering gnolls. This quest is kinda worth it. I zoned into BB around level 28 *bard* and pretty much laid waste to all the Elites and commanders in the zone. I hired a few smaller level groups to slaughter any elites they see and I would worry about the Elite/commander rooms and the lone elite that spawns down the hall near the treetrap drop point. After about 3 minutes of keeping the zone free of elites, Trannix Darkpaw spawned along with the Lord *in the spike pit* and I laided waste to him only after taking a nasty Harm touch and draining 3 bubbles of HP.
Looted the baby and turned him in to get part 1 of the sword.
Part 2 was a little more difficult to get because I wanted to have a nice off-hand Wurmy for SplitPaw as I charm kited outside at the spires. The one-eyed gnoll camp is literally at a campfire just to the right of the FIRST bridge you come too. you have to fall down the pit and open the doorway to the upper right *only door you can see*. its HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you take at LEAST 3-4 30-35's with you with invis up *bard song is beautiful here* The one-eyed gnoll is level 33-35 and is underconned for his level *more like about a level 38*. a Healer is a must since this gnoll double hits for in the 60's and 80's often.
The Gnoll scribe is VERY close by to where the one-eyed gnolls spawns and is much easier to kill. He's around level 30-31 and is conned about right. Just head out of the doorway you entered and head up the ramp *only ramp in the pit area, hard to miss* and you'll enter a room with a bunch of gnolls and doors. The scribe spawns in the back room on the bottom floor along with another gnoll. Having a snarer/rooter is a MUST because if he runs out, he'll agro about 5-7 gnolls as well. Loot the enchanted parchment *or something like that* and wahla!! you've got the remained pieces. The spawntimes on both these creatures is fast and the ratio of there spawns is VERY good 1 in 2-3. there is a very good chance one or both will be up when you enter the zone.
Advantages of Gnoll slayer Final: DieaseSV is EXTREMELY nice and anyone who dis'es it needs to attend a high level raid. Leveling through paw with this item in off hand is not too shabby and I know as a bard, I highly enjoyed it and I as able to solo the spires gnolls easily weilding this thing at 32. hitting in the 50's,60's and low 70's was REALLY nice and I got alot of inspects while fighting there. "whoah, where did you get that.. its cool." and "Hey whats the damage on that thing" etc etc
Disadvantages: 15/40 isn't that great on everything else and the companion spirit does NOT work at level 36. I have yet to try it at level 40 since I didn't want to waste a precious charge to test it. I'll get back to this post when I find out the details of when it can be used.
But if you HAD to kill more gnolls with it and paw is getting boring to you.. try Iceclad ocean since there is a gnoll camp on the same island as Tower of Frozen Shadows. They are indifferent to all races and classes at first but if you don't mind ******** up your faction with them... slay away.
