I just read 25 posts with people moaning and groaning. Could someone post some relevant information. Oh what the hell...to add my 2 cp in, I was in an UBAH guild and moved to another server as a level 1 with nothing. The fact is I have had more fun with this toon than I have had in 2 years. It's just about what makes you happy, nothing more nothing less.

Finally a person that makes sense to, well two actualy. I belong to a uber guild but they think it just as important for you to earn your gear then someone gives it to you. Bah game is suppose to be fun have fun your way but dont hash people that have it there way, it may be simplistic but it works
Twinking
# Apr 12 2002 at 12:15 PM Rating: Good
Well, It kills me to see someone post that the folks in ubber guilds are so skilled. My experience is that there are many who are. But there are far more that are not. Most of the Ubbers I have seen on Saryrn are sorry little 14 year olds that are caught in some sort of Ebonic XTC trance that they rarely make sense. I earned all my gear. When my guild rise to the Ubber mob level in terms of players with characters able to go there, we will be 1. Mature, 2, not ate up with our ubberness, and 3, able to speak our languages correctly. Folks. Enjoy the game. Do the quests, and forget about the moron ubber wannabes. Most of them bought their gear on Ebay and pretend that they have skills.

(Note: Anyone notice the Feral stuff is almost all the same stats, but diff AC and saves?)
Mostly the same on the Tunare server.

"Hey, that looks nice. What mob did that drop off?"
"I dunno, mi gild gave it too me." (Not typo)

Also kills me that people sell things more expensive to certain classes than others...
"Oh, you're a druid, I'll sell this thing to you for 500pp because you can't use it anyway.."

(same item after druid refuses)

"This is an awesome monk item! It dropped off some uber mob!! (at level 20) I'll sell it to you for 1kpp! You can't refuse this thing is awesome!!"
"Um, that's a 9/27 h2h weap, I can loot that myself."

Seen someone try selling a monk some rusty knuckles (like 5dmg/40dly) for 200pp because monks need h2h for their epic or some ******** like that. Um ok.. Like monks don't practice with their fists until level 40 anyway...

So some of you say that hopefully a level 45 has something better to do then this quest, let me just inform ya of something the gear for the bst in particular is better then the plane armor and not to mention the fact that its not no drop so it can be sold later on. To simply sit here say that its only for twinking is not only a moronic statment but it one that shows the level of intelengence and time it took some of ya to type those comments. Leave the people who actualy work for what they got along and stop discouriging them its, what is not enough that you stick the fact you can uber your level 1 and not break a sweat. I have a 51 warrior and I am hunting this stuff for my bst, yes that is twinking I gues but I actualy have a reasoning it in my guild wants to see bst in raids and see how they do and since this quest starts at 40 you could very well have gotten a full set of armor by 46.

Seriously, twinking has gotten far out of hand.

My main is struggling atm to raise the money to buy himself some decent gear because his old gear is getting weak. He is a 52 Iksar ShadowKnight.

The other day, on my Enchanter, lvl 11... with a few twink items, and a Stein of Moggok he got himself... I notice a Vah Shir Bard.... in FULL Singing Steel... conned blue to lvl 11.

Now that's just a blatant display of wealth and it practically mocks the fact that I'm struggling to make money as it is. I have no problem with a little twinkage, but it seems so blatant now that it disappoints those still working on their mains.

But, it's your 10 bucks a month, so do what you want... but think sometimes, is it really necessary to have equip that's so WAY beyond what you need?

(I can't believe I'm adding into this off topic conversatoin, but I feel like it has to be said... sorry folks)

you feel worthless because you feel worthless, not because some young toon has kick *** armor. Don't put them down, congradulate them and get on with playing your character.

IMHO, getting the best items in the game at level 1 takes the fun out of getting better stuff as you progress, but I don't expect or hold anyone else to playing the way I do just because it might make me feel like less of a man. :)

I don't care if someone has better stuff than me or even if I won't ever see such kewl stuff as someone else has... I'm just playing to have fun.

NOW, BACK ON TOPIC...

This looks like decent lower-mid-level armor. I wonder what it looks like... I'll have to post the item description window pic when I get it :)

I also wanted to add....

What did any of this have to do with this Beastlord armour? SEMI NICE ARMOUR! (had to say something about it)
humor in contradiction.

Seriously, twinking has gotten far out of hand.
-darknyss

(This is a lie. The fact is, Items are super cheap now that luclin is out, so twinking is even less expensive!)

My main is struggling atm to raise the money to buy himself some decent gear because his old gear is getting weak. He is a 52 Iksar ShadowKnight.
-darknyss

(Mostly hes just complaining cuz his shadowknight has suck armour and he hates the fact that the other shadowknights have MUCH BETTER armour than him. I can relate to this due to the fact that i have my own lvl 50 iksar shadowknight. But im not saving up to buy him armour. Thats an idiotic thing to do at lvl 50. I have a lot of Greenmist Armour already...its free and its in the planes, and if there are no other iksar shadowknights, it rots. High lvl iksar shadowknights are rare anyway...hook up with the raids yo)

The other day, on my Enchanter, lvl 11... with a few twink items
-darknyss

(Someone complaining about everyone twinking....who actually is bragging about being twinked. Humor.)

Now that's just a blatant display of wealth and it practically mocks the fact that I'm struggling to make money as it is. I have no problem with a little twinkage, but it seems so blatant now that it disappoints those still working on their mains.
-darknyss

(Practically mocks the fact that your struggling? Dude hit the planes, get armour. FREE. You have no problem with a little twinkage, or ENOUGH IS ENOUGH...WHICH IS IT?! I CONFUSE!)

But, it's your 10 bucks a month, so do what you want... but think sometimes, is it really necessary to have equip that's so WAY beyond what you need?
-darknyss

(Is it really necessary? I think so. Lets say you got your lvl 1 gnome shadowknight with his quest shirt and newb sword...and i got my lvl 1 gnome shadowknight in full Ry'gorr, a lamy, a guardian shield, fbss, 65hp rings, orc fang earrings....who is going to be better off? You enjoy dieing often? In about 4 hours of play my gnome shadowknight is now level 15 (true story) and the others who didnt twink there shadowknight are about level 6-8...ALMOST LEVEL 9! At level 15 he has almost 800 hp...when all the others have less than 350. It all comes down to..How often do you feel like chasing your body? [Well now you dont lose your body till level 10, nor lose exp till level 11...but im still level 15 and the other untwinked shadowknights are 8-10 levels lower....] Its stupid not to twink. ITS CHEAP. WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO BUY THAT YOU CANT AFFORD?! CLOAK OF FLAMES?!)

Choh 19 Gnome Warrior
Kinpao 19 Dark-Elf Enchanter
Mehealu 32 Dwarf Cleric
Moikoko 22 Troll Shaman
Ranus 15 Gnome Shadowknight
Venos (jr) 2 Gnome Cleric?!
Otuuk 13 Ogre Beastlord

So! Are you the guy in the blue collar job that gets angry at the boss because he has gotten ahead by working and working a lot longer than you?

The level 10 in the full singing steel worked his butt off to get it. Maybe not with that player but with another and here you are berating him about it. I do not know about the rest of the players but I am getting sick and tired of all this jealousy. After all that is the only real motivation behind it.
<whine on> I can't get it so why should they </whine off>

I am far from being an Uber player but I have started a couple from the gear I could not sell and like the players I started so much that I leveled them to the 40s. Some players want to play some thing different or their guild needs a class that they are weak in and the gear helps get them there. And here you are with your petty whine because you aren't uber enough.

ROFLMAO

Why does everyone assume that at lvl 46 that this item or any other might not help them...were not all members or so called Uber guilds and or live for the loot..I for 1 have a 51 mage and still wear a crystaliine robe while i see about 100 other mages of lower lvl wearing robes and other items that are way beyond there lvl....STOP the insanity. I am not a member of a "Uber" guild where they insist on deckin them selves out to make up for there lack of REAL playing ability. I REFUSE to sit in EC/gfay and watche auctios all day long till my eyes pop out. I refuse To attempt to be attempting to loot a mob before it even hits the ground so i can have that 2 extra pp in my pocket. maby EQ isint that much different then RL ....seems like everyone wants more then the person next to them ....he who drives the biggest truck has the smallest *****

You moron.

The only reason they're able to deck themselves out with good gear IS because they're skilled players (most of the time). Take your envy somewhere else, it doesn't fly here.

Just because you're still wearing raw silk doesn't mean you have to hate on others who can actually accomplish something in the game.

There more players that does not belong in a guild in EQ that are more skilled than people who belong to a so called UBER guild.

People who joins UBER guild are only in it for loots. Loots that they lack in skill to get it for themselves.

Basically, in a guild majority are unskilled players who are just followers to a skilled leader.

I have more admiration for people who works hard for their gear soloing, than people who relies on their guild to feed them with everything.

But, then again... we play EQ differently from one another. Some roleplays, others play in a DIABLO style of play (hack and slash), while most people plays for loots. That is why there are thousands of guilds out there.

I don't know how long you've played EQ, but simply put, you can't get everything solo or even in one group.

And, it takes more than just the average casual EQ player to be in a guild that can take down uber mobs.
RE: level 51 newbs
# Mar 24 2002 at 1:06 PM Rating: Decent
HA! Very funny actually... You call him a moron because he points out that alot of people are wearing gear far beyond your level? I'm curious, how much would you feel the bite if they put level limits on all items? I for one am wearing all gear my level and most I've gotten myself, and I've got alot of skillz and L33tz but I wouldn't so much as say an angry word if they enforced people to wear gear their level. I would in fact probably get outta the chair and do a cheering dance. Bottom line, you are meant to wear gear your level, and until they enforce it think before you call people who play right morons.
RE: level 51 newbs
# Jun 22 2002 at 10:17 PM Rating: Default
Guess what? If they have good gear, they had to fight to get it, even if they're twinking a lower level, they had to use a high level to get it. It's not like uber guilds go to some magical spot where they all kill level ones and get super loot -- they have to put a lot of time and effort into killing mobs many, many times tougher than any single player.
RE: level 51 newbs
# Mar 24 2002 at 12:13 PM Rating: Decent
Hey! what is wrong with wearing raw silk? Personally I was wearing rawsilk gloves till about 52.

But I must agree with Atari, most of the uber guilds have the loot cause they have the game skills. As for their twinks and secondaries being better equipped than you, well mine are well equipped with handmedowns or items I recieved that I passed off to them. I don't spend much time in EC either, dislike sitting for hours trying to sell or buy something without getting ripped off. Almost everything on me is off MoB's I helped kill, and was awarded to me because the loot deciders thought I deserved it.

Well I am getting too long winded.

UBER.. not
# Mar 22 2002 at 5:31 PM Rating: Decent
hopefully a lvl 45 would have something better to do than this quest
RE: UBER.. not
# Mar 22 2002 at 6:36 PM Rating: Default
I'm sure they do. That's why the components for the quest either drop off random mobs or are random themselves (the jewels) so this would be more of a thing to do on the side while doing normal hunting routines in the zones where components drop.

Hey, beats having to camp stuff.
