Some contradictory old comments in this thread need clarification:
-Can this still be equipped in range slot? (answer should be no, as item collector entry is newer than posts)
-We need modern item window screenshot of this item
-We could use a pic of someone wielding this item (does it actually look like a staff with a crook in it?).

NO. Primary and secondary only (see below)

i thought about buying this a equipping it to work up my 1hb skills. any comments??? 6th lvl iskar monk

A regular staff is 5/28 and only a little more than this thing. You fists are around 5/35 if you're really low lvl but go up as you lvl. Offhand a staff is you want to work on you 1hb skill and have no money to spend but dont expect to do tons of damage with it.
If you put a weapon into your primary hand, it alters the delay on your secondary weapon to match that of the your primary when you successfully use dual wield. Therefore, an iksar monks fist (4-5/35) becomes a (4-5/28) with this in your primary hand. Depending on how often your dual wield works (mine works almost every time - monks rule!), you may train your 1HB and Hand-to-Hand simultaniously with a minor benefit or at least with no average change in DPS. I had both skills maxed (with dual wield) at level 14 before I upgraded and had no problems.

(derp) it is a range weapon. it has a range and dmg. it is used as both a 1hb and a range item that you THROW. hehe, THATS why it fits in range

I hope the merchants dont charge more than 5cp for this thing thats about all its worth
It can be equipped in the range slot, why? It has no stats. This doesn't make sense Verant. Just my 2 cp.
