Found him near the windmill. Hits hard, but my 25 Bard smoked him fairly easy.

Im a lvl 27 Necro Saw him down by the windmill close to where the charbones warbones and icebones hang out (Yes it was the Greater Ice bone)
He conned yellow to me. He was a ways away from me . I have extended range gear first I cast engulfing darkness had time to cast heart flutter then heat blood ran close to side of mountain gave him a poisoin blast je was down half in life at this time I sent my pet and kept casting expulse undead. He almost killed my pet but I finnally got him. With such a hard kill I was dissapointed with the loot I got 2 gold and 6 silver lol.

28 (lightly twinked) Iks SK with armed pet caught aggro. I had some cleric buffs and a sow. Yellow to me, killed my pet, sucked up my HT, resisted the Ward Undeads that didn't fizzle (damn lone Evocation spell). Got Engulfing Dark to stick and ran around bandaging up to 2 bulbs, went back in and gave him some Glowing Velium Axe Love.

Good fight, would have been toast without sow and a live pet. Now, he's just another chump and his bones helped make my new pet.

The hits are about right, 30-60, missed a decent amount, took a lot of damage, didn't resist much, interrupted a lot. I was in that no-mans land between Gob Caves and Big Iks Statue.
dat damn skelly

Ya I was In a lvl 18-21 group at the skelly tower when out puller did his thing...we though we would be fine cus we out numbered him by several and ther was not another skelly we could not take.
So as we started to fight him we started to relize that he was not lvl 4 I was out of mana do to heals in about 20 seconds...but we stayed on him. Then one of our tank sissy off. Yep he killed us all.but what pissed me of was he had about 1.3 % of his life when he killed me(I was the last one standing) so had that sissy Dwarf not ran off...WE WOULD HAVE KICKED IT'S *****
One Tough Skelly

Last night, Halloween, saw one walking towards Cabilis from the lake right by the huge Izzy statue. Im a level 27 monk and he conned yellow to me. I was sow-ed so I decided to test my luck. Hummm, he hit me at least 7 times for 57-67HP at which point I hit mend and ran like a monkey towards the guards at Cabilis. I outran him and had time to bandage my wounds once. I figured with almost 50%HP I would take a few more swipes at him to see if I could take him down to 50%. Well, that didn't happen the dam greater icebone hit me again twice and I backed up into the guards. Heres the interesting part, the guard delivered 3 blows each for 187HP and that skelly was still standing. The fourth shot did it and and the greater icebone fell and dissapeared. The moral of this story is stay the hell away from Greater Icebones unless your over level 30.

Ive never seen one in the Lake before and probably never will again. If you think this guy hangs out at the mill, fort, or skell tower you are mistaken and have the wrong mob.
Greater Icebone, pencilbox
# Aug 02 2001 at 2:49 PM Rating: Excellent
I happened upon one of these vile creatures the other night, conned white to me at lv 30. I hailed it and it must have taken it the wrong way cause it punched me in the mug! So, i say look you do that again and I'm gonna turn your shin bone into a pencil box! Well, it smacked me again for 50 dmg.! So i snared it, backed up and let loose with my mighty arrows(hehe which i made myself) Ignite&Swarm and a couple minutes later it was dragging its bony butt around like a 2 legged Grimalkin on a frozen lake. Now, i guess if i were a warrior i might have tried yelling for help from someone a little more "hybrid" or i'd keep my butt in a group if i was thinking about taking one of these on, but i'm a ranger, ahem, so, anybody wanna buy a greater iceboned pencil box???

Indeed! It's good see a forest-brother taking the time to to remind us of the value of a good ranger!

As a 26th Season archer, I enlisted the aid of a 25th Chanter and a 23rd Druid to bring one of these down - I suffered a little more wear and tear than my bretheren attests to, but no serious problem.

Happy hunting!

I am a 26 war and I soloed one of these, of course i had SLN and wolf form, strength buffs among other buffs, he still had me down to a bub of health left. I had over 1200hp buffed. This is one mean mob. conned red to me.

I saw one of these by the ruins on the right wall and back a little ways. My group of six lvl 19 to 24 had no problem with him while killing two other skellies at the same time. Of course I was full on mana and used my ward undead a lot which hits for 41 but since he was so high i wasted all my mana on that against him and only ended up hiting him with spells for abouit 60 dmg. They give great exp and drop 2 bone chips almost every time. They are a fun challange for those of that level so be careful and watch that aggro.

me and a friend have killed 2 of these, and i've seen around 3-4 in around 2 weeks of hunting the roamings near the mill, and pulling undead from there. We were both 26 at the time, me a 26 monk with mostly raw silk, some cured, and 1 or 2 stat items with a Cane of Tranquil... and Friend was a 26 druid in raw silk with screaming mace. Killed it each time, with me down to below 1 bub or just above 1 bub of hp left each time, and the druid OOM or not enough mana for another heal... this is with her meding during the fight while i used mend... can double hit for -64 and some nasty ****'s. ;p

Ow. In a group of 6, (a monk a cleric, 2 druids and a warrior) Our puller got agro'd by one of these. He ran it to us, that skeleton is a major badass. He resisted 4 stinging swarms in a row hit for 67 dmg and hit about twice for every hit we go in. Our lvls were 18-22. First our monk died (stupid bad taunter warrior) grrrrr! Anyway, then our warrior started taking hits and we druids were oom so we got in there bashin it. The our warrior folded cause cleric fizzled a spell. It's health Was ALMOST gone, so close so close, so we wacked it for a wee bit then the other druid in my group died, and the cleric and I decided descresion is the better part of valor so we ran all the way up the stream (sow thank god) and zoned. That was ridiculously ugly. Moral of the story. When the monk dies, get your *** out!
Though guys

This guy conæed yellow to me at lvl 28.

It crushed my pet rather easy, but I managed to kill it anyway alone. Just don't stay to close, they dual hit'ed me for 58dmg.

Crackheads
# Apr 11 2001 at 11:17 PM Rating: Default
You all are crack heads I am a lvl 19 ranger and with a warrior 20, ranger18, ranger18, necro18, (stupid) Mage19, and a palidan21, we wax these one after another at the skel house near the mill.
In a good grp with skill (taunt and heals) They are a staple to my diet of exp. They resist like a **** and hit hard but 6-1 odds with a smart group wins easily.
RE: Crackheads
# Apr 25 2001 at 5:03 PM Rating: Default
Ah, no, you're the one on crack. This is the Greater Icebone, not the Icebones or Lesser Icebones that you were fighting.
RE: Crackheads
# May 06 2001 at 10:37 AM Rating: Default
I thnink you are right... they were killing regular Icebones.

My group Me (Level 26 War), 24 Rogue, 20 Cleric, was all we could do to kill that sucker. I was taking hits of 64 and sometimes double. Had there been an add it would of been ugly.

Killed It!
# Mar 27 2001 at 7:04 AM Rating: Default
Accidentally pulled one of these last night with my group at small ruins near mill. Had 2 tanks and 4 casters, all 20-24. Took almost 20 minutes to finally kill. Ended up chasing one of our tanks around the mill for 10 minutes while we (casters) would med a little, heal/sow him - and dd the skelly. Bad thing was none of us got any xp from it, guess mob was too high. If you see one, give it wide passage.
Slaughter
# Feb 05 2001 at 2:20 AM Rating: Default
One of these wiped out 6 20-22nd casters 6 15-18th Iksars and 4-6 other random PC's it ran past on the way... The field where it happened near the Windmill still smells of rotting flesh from all the deaths.
Level ok , hits hard
# Jan 02 2001 at 4:04 AM Rating: Default
These have been 30 to 33, killed with a 29 31 druid no problem, but used all mana. Hits real hard if you stand toe to toe. Was too tough for an equall level monk.

Took one out
# Aug 08 2000 at 1:53 AM Rating: Decent
In a group of a 24th lvl Enchanter, 23rd lvl Monk, 22nd lvl Cleric, and a 20th lvl Warrior we managed to kill one. The fight was long and very tough, so I would put them in the upper 20's to Lower 30's lvl Range
