Browsing around SG, found two up. Have they been reintroduced? I have screenshots to prove date and of their existence....again.

Mob Graveyard for this one too. All elemental types were removed from zone during the revamp in early 2003.
nerfed
# May 12 2003 at 4:07 AM Rating: Decent
Yes, they have been nerfed, their AoE used to be up there with dragon AoE attackes(at least lady vox's don't suppose her is near the larger dragons AoE's) They also have huge dmg shields, after slow and getting hit only a few times in the 140s range from them, warlords life(4795hp at the time) was at 50% from that shield, once dispelled and slowed they are pretty easy to anyone of right level to zone.

We learned the hard way on these. By the time the mob was down 40% both the chanter and necro pets were dead from DS. Nasty bugger...you must dispel his damage shield, and then he is just like a slightly beefed up watery servant. I can confirm that they no longer AE and the most I saw their DD do was 55.

Agree - either the ones in the well are weaker or they have been nerfed - seemed like a slightly harder watery servant - max hit with spells on me was 50-60 (220 Cold resist)
Nerfed?

Took a group to the well today and killed these for hours. Never got one aoe cast on me. Not nearly as hard as I heard they were, although they did have a nasty DS on them which was easily dispelled. Think they've been nerfed :)

Killing the Ice bastages

Well, these mobs are actually extremely easy if you have an enchanter. I am a level 60 enchanter that usually Pulls when inside SG and here is what I do. First off I tashan this thing from Max Distance and mezz is when it gets to me. Then I cast Slow and then I cast recant magic (4 buff dispel). The dispel I usually cast from inside the protection of my group and that will break the monster from mezz without dispelling slow (slow is on disease dispel now). NOTE - it is imperative to dispel or MOK these because their Damage shield will kill your rogues and any melees very very fast, I have never seen players HP drop faster than on these icy monsters. Once in camp I just chain stun it, so It never ever gets a chance to proc the AOE ice rain and 2 buff dispel. I think it is very important to mezz and slow these before engaging because you will have a stun here and there resisted and they will (if not slowed) land a AOE and Dispel. So, in short - Slow, Dispel, Constant stun and you won't lose a single HP or buff.

Tough Mob

Was in a castle group with a 59 war, 60 cleric w/ rez stick, 56 ench, 60 necro(me), 59 ranger, and a 60 monk. On the way there right after we dropped down about 4 of the little tunnel things on the way to the castle and we ran into one of these things. Tough little bish, lots of hp. I casted Funeral Pyre of Kelador on it, which is a dot for 2160 dmg, and just stood there and had a dummy right click buff of shrunken gobo earring on for AE dispells, and just casted Touch of Night(lifetap for 725 pts) every time I'd get hit by the AE, and I would be mana feeding the cleric for heals. Cleric had to rez the ranger and the chanter during the fight.

All in all, tough mob but can be handled pretty easily by a well organized group of 55+.

They're annoying.

These things are mostly just a pain since they are in the way of whatever you're really hunting. Use your gobby skull earring and other right clicky buffs to keep from getting overly dispelled. They AE is fast but stuns do help a lot. 3 paladins make a big difference in SG.
Not so bad

Well we fought one of these yesterday, so I can add my comments.
We were 4 at start, me 54 cleric, 55 war, 55 bard and 55 ranger. Started in fact really unprepared (no RC buff nor hp buffs), and didnt reallized it was that mob we pulled at first. War got rapped pretty quick as i ran out of mana trying to heal everyone, and finally bard managed to mez it to get us some rest (Btw very easily mezzed said the bard). So she kept the servant mezzed for approx. 40 mins, the time for me to regain mana and rez the war. On second attempt we didnt noticed the enthralled molkor on top of us, and it CH'ed the servant mid fight, so another mez to give us time to deal with the molkor. Finally got some reinforcement with a 54 shaman, malosi+turgur, buff to full with RC up, got hit for 500 pretty much all the time, except 2 AE for 10 and 130 (With 94 RC), but not so bad i only used word of vigor AE heal to keep everyone alive and the buggar went down swiftly.
So just be carefull about the surroundings, slow it and it should not be hard at all for a well rounded group.
Btw all we got for loot was a so ubber 8gp :)
AE

Well fought them for a good 5 hours tonight, and as a 55 war with 194cold resist the fugger was still hitting me for high 400's. Not sure if they have recently increased the difficulty to resist this proc, but it is very mean. Also has a debuff effect, so have a few junk buffs up. This thing is basically vox in a small package.

Best strat we came up with was shain stun. Went from cleric beeing oom, and group nearly dead, to cleric at 80m with group at full health. Was pretty effective for us, but we had a 60chanter for stuns, not sure how high there MR is.

Ok, a couple things on these. They do not, ever, drop a Seahorse Spine Bracelet. I have killed enough of these to give you nightmares and I guarantee you those only drop on the seahorses.
The Seahorses also drop the Ancient Seahorse Hide
cloak and the Ancient Fishing Pole (as well as scales and part of the Dragonbane quest). The Bracelet is amazing for bards AND Monks, and sells easily for 6K.

Icys rarely drop arm/leg quest gems. And commonly drop crap gems. Enthralled Critters always have 2 or 3 items, usually crap gems and jewelry, but often enough drop boot/hand/wrist/head gems. They also, of course, rarely drop netted kelp. Not TOO rarely tho, and a 3-4 hour hunting expedition of the Enthralleds can net 4-5 pieces.

SG is a fun, but dangerous zone. Small mistakes here = long CRs, cause there usually isn't anyone to help you out.
AoE and CR
# Oct 05 2001 at 8:33 AM Rating: Decent
Here is some further info on the AoE.

As a 56th ogre warrior, it hit for 500 with my 27 CR. After putting on some resist gear, it hit for 20 with an 85 CR. Seems CR drops the damage quick. Too bad the dispel will drop any CR buffs quick as well.

First off, you dont mess with icy servants without everyone in your group having 150+ cold resist or having multiple slaughter groups.

There are two different icy servants... most are level 51ish? The two that guard the shimmering sea serpent pool at the siren temple are lvl 54 / 55.

AE every 15 seconds or so, 500dmg with dispel (vox clone)... Doesn't really affect you if you have a crew that can resist or put the mob down very fast (5+ melee and a wizard or two)

They all hit pretty hard, approx 157s to 170s? /shrug I haven't messed with these guys too much. They drop the same stuff the seahorses drop, no kelp.

Netted kelp is uncommon stuff with nice stats .
it has Hell look , so it's very nice , drop rate is fast ( can get tunic gloves and boots in 3 hours ..)

The walruses, manatees drop absolutely nothing and are better left alone. The Enthralled Bulthors, Moltors and Ulthorks drop 3+ gems everytime. Random chance to get very rare velious quest gem. Ive had Crushed Black marble and Crushed Flame emerald drop off one moltor before. Common gems are onyx, pearls, crushed nephrite, crushed chrisolite, and flawed emerald (velious quest gem). All other gems are random drops. They also drop Netted Kelp armor which is fairly good twink armor and great +int and +SV fire for the higher levels. Although having your CHA over 200 is a plus for all you chanters who wear this since it gives - in CHA. it gives +4 or higher stamina also depending on which piece. The Icy servants should really not be messed with unless you are on a guild raid with 2+ grps. It took them around 10 seconds to kick my 54 warriors *** with 1000 ac and 2500 hp unbuffed. but that was with 3 other icys and around 8 siren enticers. the icys hit me for max of 110 but extremely fast and that triple 500 AE every second or so from all 3 was hell. also the nukes from the sirens hurt. Dont expect to pull any of these Icy servants unless your expecting to get 8+ MoBs with it.

The horses are nice pulling if you have the melee power for them. Me and a 60 warrior did them and it took 5 mins per horse. although we I had 4200 hp buffed and she had 5010 and 1400 ac. they give good xp and the rare drop of that 20 ac cloak is worth it. I hope this clears stuff up on SG and it is a really great zone to hunt in with a grp.

yeh... tough mobs
# May 30 2001 at 7:06 AM Rating: Default
Icy Servants are the toughest of the Ele mobs in SG

220-280 quads
upto 500 dmg AE + dispell top buff
25k hp.

Often come in pairs, with sirens, or with the lower watery servant versions. SG is not for the fainthearted.

Drops in here are random, we've had some nice things....
