I decided to kill some time when waiting on a friend to show for up for an MQ turn in at Xanuusus for his Earthcaller. So I decided to kill the dire griffon/ plains dragon..Popped aimshot disc..hit him about 8 times for between 2.1k and 5.8k, then 2 fatal bow shots for 203k+ each..one dead dragon..took all of about 20 seconds to deal about 460k dmg on him..seems range weps are the wtg..even though he summons. I do have rk12 HS, so I'm guessing he's classed as an animal. Dropped Plains Dragon Crystal. Later on I tried the same thing with 'a mountain dragon"..which spawned from a dire panda, and yielded SAME results...2 hits for 203k+...8-9 hits totalling about 36k..one more dead dragon...Note to bards out there getting their 1.5's: recruit a ranger with headshot rank 12 or better and save yourself a major headache ...and time lol.
soloed him easy (well - with healer merc) 2010 as a 85 wizzy resisted all his spell efforts he resisted some of mine so lures a good idea yes he summons - but was hitting me for about 1000 at a time - easy for merc to heal me
why did i kill him? <shrug> because he was there! (and noone else in zone - im guessin someone had a go at the dire griff and spawned him and thought oops!)
Duo'd this morning (or tonight, depending on what you consider 12:30am) by an 82 bard and paladin for an alt bard.
Bard almost solo'd it, paladin showed up at 50%.
Bard - level 82, Defensives maxed through Secrets of Feydwer, All song and instrument aa's, 2.0 in hand. Anguish Gear or Equiv in all slots. approx 3300ac.
Paladin - level 82, dressed and AA'd in a similar sense. Once she got agro only one heal was needed for the rest of the fight. approx 3700ac.
this says its a raid encounter so why when i was soloing my lvl 16 druid in north karna the other night was this mob up??? anyone know if hes no longer a raid encounter??
5 healers (1 cleric, 4 druids) 1 MA (warrior) 1 SA (sk)
Coming from a healers pov (druid), keep ALL casters far far away from this guy. Have 10 junk buffs lined up then the good stuff. MA and SA need to have at least 2 clickie buffs on them for the dispell which is unresistable. The 1.5k DD is resistable however.
Druids dot'd and kept up the MA and the only cleric we had. No one died :)
Yes,use disease based slow. He is so very highly MR that he resists lifetaps.
The spell info says the AE is targetted with a range of 200. We had casters OoR from behind the dragon who were still in range of the AE. So that part doesn't seem right.
was running around North Karana looking for highland lions for HQ pelts when this guy popped up on track. decided to go check it out cause I had never seen a dragon in the game yet being only a lvl 34 Dru (which is my highest toon). Conned red (no surprise) and indiferently (which did surprise me). asked my guild if they had any info on it and no one seemed to know anything so I decided to attack it and see if I could do ANY damage at all, not surprisingly I died in a matter of about 3 seconds. went like this
you begin to cast ensnaring roots Your target is immune to run speed changes Your target resisted your ensnaring roots Thunder echoes in your ears, you are engulfed in lightning. You take 1500 points of damage. you have been slain by a plains dragon returning to home point LOADING PLEASE WAIT...
we just killed him with a small raidforce of about 20 VT / GOD equipped players. He will proc a 1500 DD or so, and dispell 2 buffslots. Very nasty. Using 2 clickies helps a bit. Good healers can keep a decent tank alive quite well, but someone else needs to keep the healers alive, or you will wipe. (We did the first time, got him on second try.)
