Also drops "Ebon Drake Bile" for the newbie Necro robe quest. I know this because I kiled it and looted the bile and combined in the kit and got my robe.
These guys are great to kill! plus they have nice loot for the zone, next to the harpies. I often find gems on them, from malachite, lapis, and hematite. They are also not a social critter, which is nice.
These things are fun to kill. They all con green to a 15th season Shaman, but some still give exp. They don't drop a lot of loot, but they look cool. Always a satisfying feeling to have one dead at your feet, with its blood on your weapon.
I am a level 11 Wood Elf Ranger on the Betoxx server and I hunt these and Harpies a lot for exp. They are exelent for it if you can't get a shaman to buff you for killing Elementals. So if there blue to you then KILL THE MOTHER ****ERS!

Things won't PURPOSELY assist a drake, but a critter could wander by, get hit by the drakes AoE blast, and decide to get froggy. Problem here is, they don't always attack the drake. They might think that if they got hit, they eed to kill something, and you look as good a target as any. Then you'll run, passing various combinations of things that will assist things that are chasing you, while the drake keeps "inviting" others to come play with it's AoE. The result is usually a train that will kill you before you can zone.
I am a Lvl 11 magicain and I have been soloing these and the harpies to exp sence Lvl 10 good exp and a tendency to drop gems as loot I have gotten Lapis and Terq off them. 8^)
These initiate the fight with a spell. They also act as if they are at least one level above what they con, adn the loot they drop is not worth the trouble. It is more profitable to fight skeletons or plague rats. However, both of the latter group together, whereas I have never seen anything aid a drake.
