Heh, all these are good questions about the shadowknights and all, and loots, etc.
First of all, I personally (spending A LOT of time in this fun, low level dungeon) think that the shadowknights are on a random spawn timer with placeholders. The first shadowknight (soloable usually by level 6) has a placeholder that is usually a skeleton of sorts.
The female human SK has over 3 placeholder's I've seen (Willowisp, Necro, Lesser Mummy) and is soloable (without adds mind you) usually by level 12.
The Ogre SK (<<WHOM you SHOULD KILL before falling in the pit traps, etc>>) is, under my observation the shortest spawn time with the most adds. Since adds with him are inevitable, He is not soloable until the 17th level or so. He occasionally drops Barbed Armplates, which are 4wt. 7AC +2Dex. Not so bad for a true newbie zone.
There are 2 more shadowknights, a troll and a female darkelf, both of which spawn on opposite sides of the 3rd level, and are easily taken down if you can avoid the ghoulie adds. The troll occasionally drops A bone bladed Claymore (A HORRIBLE 2HS weapon) and the female Darkelf sometimes drops the Barbed Legplates, if you're out for some matching Befallen armor =-)
