As of 5/8/24 on Teek server.

I started by just sitting at the giants and waiting for a mob to come up and stand there. There are some mobs that come kind of close that I ignored, but killed the one that came very close like he was going to run straight into the middle of the giants. There were only 3 people in the zone so I could pretty much see what spawned after that, thought not with 100% certainty.

A mob ended up spawning somewhere around 2650, -1350, and that is where I ended up sitting to kill whatever popped. Did this for 10-20min and Kwinn popped right in front of me. Killed him and then stayed for a bit to see if it would happen again. Just kept killing any mobs that came to that spot or spawned there. After about another 20min Kwinn spawned again, but to the southeast around 1930, -1670. He then walked to the southeast point in nikokirei's post. Note that the first spawn point was close to his northwest point, but not exactly.

I did follow what I was pretty sure was the PH and he walked in a north/south zig zag pattern very close to, but not exaclty on, the locations in nikokirei's post. Pretty much all the other mobs would spawn and start walking directly south or directly east/west. Drolvog Scavenger and Froglok Nok Shaman are 100% in the spawn table, can't say for certain on others.

If I have to do this again I'll probably just go with the giant fort tactic again as there seems to be only 1 or maybe 2 spawn cycles that walk to that point, and 1 or both of them are in the kwinn cycle. Never saw a mob actually spawn there though, they spawn down by the hill then path there.

I'm not sure if I was at "Mud Hill", but this was the closest thing I could find, and, it worked. I stood on the hill with my Ranger and one-shot the mobs around it for about 15 minutes until Kwinn popped on Track -- not far away from where I was standing. I followed him about for a while to see where he pathed and paused.

Also, contrary to older posts, he does not attack the Froglocs, and, they don't attack him -- in fact, I never saw him aggro or get aggro, even from the Drovologs, while I followed him about for 20 minutes.

Copy Pasta to your firiona_1.txt map and you'll be in like Flinn...or, Kwinn, rather...

Debunking the myth - starting the quest does NOT spawn Kwinn

I would like to put to rest the urban legend that Kwinn is spawned when a monk starts the quest to kill him. This is not true.

My 41 Druid, Dyllwin, and 41 Monk, Soluss, were in FV on Coirnav hunting Kwinn. He was not up, and neither was Scout Treekill. I roamed the zone twice, keeping the tracking window open.

Dyllwin sat near the Giant hut, within tracking distance of the mud hill.

Soluss used Origin to return home and initiate the quest with Master Niska and Klok Emphir. He then ran back to FV via SoNH.

At no point did Kwinn spawn while Soluss was enroute. Neither did he spawn immediately once Soluss was back in zone.

It was only after about 45 mminutes of killing everything I could between the mud hill and the giant hut that Kwinn spawned, right at the top of the hill at the giant hut. There was also a Mage killing in the same area, so we were downing a lot of mobs.

Just kill everything you can between mud hill and the giants to get Kwinn to spawn. Any appearance that Kwinn is triggered by starting the quest in Cabilis is an illusion.
He will spawn if Scout Treekill is up

It says in the above description that he will not spawn if Scout Treekill is up. That is not true. I verified that just minutes ago. Granted, he wasn't up when I started the quest, meaning he didn't seem to be triggered by me starting the quest, as it says above, but he spawned after killing several mobs while Treekill was up. So maybe it means he won't automatically spawn by starting the quest if Treekill is up.

I had the same issue as most. Killed a ton of mobs with no spawn. I hadn't officially started the quest yet, was just collecting drops. I decided to try to start the quest to see if that spawned him. I left my bard in zone and took the monk to Cab to start the quest. Sure enough within minutes Kwinn spawned after i started the quest. Had my bard kill him then he spawned again. Maybe he keeps spawning until the monk who started the quest gets in zone. Good Luck!

This post is the best info on here, however, to add a few more points.

He shares a spawn with Scout Treekill, if the scout is up, he CANNOT spawn. I was able to spawn him multiple times with this method by clearing mobs near the "mud hill" and the Iksar statues from the below comments, then logging over to my monk in Cabilis and saying 'What Outlander?" to the Klok. He will spawn instantly if his shared spawn point is clear.

Just spawned him
# Aug 02 2014 at 5:19 PM Rating: Decent
Went to the Giant Camp near Swamp of No Hope zoneline. Had tracker killing pathing mobs at and around 1850, -2050. Within minutes had Kwinn spawn approx. at these same cooridinates!
Disturbing

I killed this guy for the copper shackle, and much later I got a mission in the same quest arc to do his quest (drew short straw on the Shackle of Tynnonium quest).
Good job, Sony. First I gotta kill him... THEN I gotta play nice with him.

Seen him up two times (didn't have to kill anything) and both times he was wandering where the previous postings indicate.

Wandering from around (+2344, -1700) to (+2255, -755) which is the edge of the pit/valley area and into the muddy/rocky hill.

Confirmed that he is still non-KOS and there is no faction hit for killing him (I did his quest after cutting off his head, he didn't mind!).
giants seems best to start

Went to muddy hill and killed and killed. Then read up some more and, went to the giants. Killed one giant and, had him pop on track. Caught up with him at 2520.57 , -1350.48. bunch of trash and the head. Hope this helps some Iksar monks out there
Kwinn walks to Giants
# Nov 23 2005 at 1:50 AM Rating: Decent
Ok I followed Kwinn with my iksar monk for about 20 minutes b4 I finally decided to kill him. He was standing by the giant huts and then walked out from the Giants to wander about the muddy hill and then walked back to the giants and just stood there just outside of the giants agro area. I then killed him when he bagan walking away again.
Some useful information.

I can confirm that the best place to camp this guy is probably at the "mud hill" that is slightly northeast of the pit area near loc 2300, -1000. That loc is a little west of it but surely there will be no problem locating it. I went there originally with my 47 monk but I found that holding the top of the hill was too difficult and logging on my 62 druid didn't help much because there were too many spawns to kill at once without draining my mana and I didn't have nearly the channeling nor the life to Catastrophe the whole bunch, though I tried. I found that pulling to the south end of the hill near the beginning of the pit is the safest spot, with only drolvargs wandering there and that was actually where I found him wandering to when I logged on my druid several hours later to see if he was up. I got lucky, but if you're not like that, just pull to that spot and you should be ok. He does not aggro drolvargs nor do they aggro him.

Hope this helps.

I tried killing the giants when I first got there. Less than five minutes later Kwinn spawned just barely NW of the giants where the two different colored grasses meet...at Loc +2700, -2370. Don't know if killing the giants then having Kwinn pop was related or just coincidence, but either way my total camping time of Kwinn was maybe 10 minutes, so can't hurt to try it.

Spawn after a while for me as the following
# May 22 2003 at 2:48 AM Rating: Decent
I read the posts and started to follow various ones, like killing different things in the north east of zone but with no luck kwinn did not spawn.
logged on the next morning and did the same for about 2 hours with out seeing him on track.
I was fighting with my lvl 41 monk and had a druid lvl 44 tracking.
I then decided to follow the post about him spawning in the middle of the giant hill.
The druid stayed back about middle of the giant hill on the east side so as not to get agroed by frogs.
Then I started to pull the giant arbors the first time two came at one so i pulled them back infront of the druid incase i need healing. After killing them both i when back to pull again (nothing at this stage on track).
Then I pulled a gaint arbor who had a axe in his hand and dropped the axe and tunic once killed.
It was then I was about to buff up by the druid when on the druids track was "Kwinn the Outlander" who conned light blue to the lvl 44 druid and was dark blue to the lvl 41 monk.
(So you may need a small group if only lvl 31 unless he spawns at various lvls?)
Tracked him to just west side of the muddy hill but still on the grassy area and he was heading towards the muddy area.
He looks different from the picture here as well, hes like a warrior barbarian.
Killed him and bagged his head (One happy Monk :) )
Possible Kwinn loc

Finally managed to kill Kwinn. Found him not too far East and not too far North as I would have thought. There is a Muddy area where he walked UP the hill heading NE towards Giants. I attacked and dropped him at Pos 2280 Neg 990. Hope this helps and Gratz to those that it does. Unsure if anything triggers him or if any of the previously stated "triggers" work. I was walking through in pasing with a Ranger guildy. Got lucky and dropped him fast.

I spent a couple hours one night just killing at random in the northeast portion of the zone. Never saw Kwinn in that time. I read and got a location of the "muddy hill" and the following day proceeded to make it a "bloody hill." Didn't seem to be an end to the roaming froggies and drolvarg in the area. I started concentrating on the ones that would follow a path from the top of the hill, where the giant camp is, that would walk right past me heading west, southwest. Not longer after this I saw Kwinn walking down the hill from the top, coming from the giant fort side. I rushed to greet him and noticed he was currently engaged with 3 different frogs. I proceeded to try and kill them before they killed him, but alas the froggies killed my soon to be barbarian victim.

I resumed killing the surrounding inhabitants, again mainly on the "path" I mentioned earlier, there are quite a few other roamers that I left alone. About 10 mins or so after Kwinns froggie demise, he came walking past me from my left this time, not from the hill. Shortly thereafter I had his head in a sack heading back to cabilis.

I've seen and killed him a few times for myself and others. I'm still not sure if he's a triggered spawn or not, but I would say try it either way.

He will walk a route semi-randomly it seems in the northeast. I followed him the other night and watched him walk to the Giant area, then west to about halfway along the north wall, back, then southwest across the muddy hill to the edge of the leech field(below the cliff).

He's aggressive to froglok's but has a low aggro distance of maybe 10 feet. However froglok's will assist those he's fighting so while he might win a one on one fight, when two or three jump him he's dead. I'm not sure if that's a recent change (similar to the one that made froglok's in SoNH kill skeletons/leeches/mosquito's), or his aggro range on them was so small I didn't notice it months back.

He and Mister Fizzle will travel together, and assist each other on froglok's or at least aggro on the same one.

kwinn is triggered
# Nov 05 2002 at 5:10 PM Rating: Decent
I spent about 3 hours one night waiting for this guy, killing all the frogs and everything near the giant fort and the swamp of no hope zone line. Nothing. I read some posts on this site, created a newbie monk, and camped my monk at the place where the grass texture changes as you head into the passage to swamp of no hope.

I hailed master niska with the newbie and started the quest. I didnt bother to seek out the vendor that knows about the outlander. I logged out the newbie and relogged my main monk. After about 7 minutes Kwinn was walking toward me heading toward the giant fort. He is not triggered instantly, but very soon after and probably does not spawn at all unless someone triggers him by starting the shackle of rock quest.

At level 30 with my Iksar monk Kwinn conned even (as would be expected since he is level 30.) Being extremely twinked, I attacked him and pulled him to a relatively safe spot to kill. Well, I killed him, but with less than 100hp to spare and I used Mend. He's a tough bugger, and I think I had some bad luck getting stunned while pulling him to safety. Just wanted to drop this information here in case there are other monks looking for this guy. BTW, I found him on the east edge of the zone not far from the Swamp zone area.

Just to let you know, I've heard stories to and fro the controversy, but I just had a guildie say the catch phrase to Master Niska, and 2 seconds later Kwinn spawned in Firona Vie. Could be coincidence, yes, but well... I think it's worth a try for everyone.

The spawn was near the SONH zone, didn't catch it exactly, had a druid tracking, but not as far east as I would have imagined. Sorry I can't give more info, but this seems to be good news.

Whenever im by forest giant fort in FV, Kwinn is always up now. In fact i was gonna kill him so my monk could loot the head, but frogs killed him and 3 minutes later he was up again. He spawns right at ent to SoNH nearest the forest giant fort. He spawns where the swamp grass meets regualr grass. He then walks to the muddy hill, and when he gets to muddy hill, Mister Fizzle spawns to help him cuz hes onstantly under attack.
