Killed him in 4 seconds (for fun..105 max aa/ geared ranger)..parsed 862,620 hps total....dropped cord and signet..2 greater runes. Just smoked him like a cheap cigar after killing Ikaav Dreamweavers.
A little more info on Gaz. During his spell immunity period, he isnt just immune but REFLECTS the spell damage back on the caster, so be careful not to nuke during this period. The information above is correct concerning the emotes he gives etc. Good luck on him, not an easy nut to crack. Takes practice and good communication within the raid.
And ya.... i think his loot is suk too compared to the difficulty of the encounter.
At the risk of a flame war...this guy seems fairly difficult for the crap he drops. Can get better items single group, and by the time you can kill this guy most the gear would be for alts or rot.
Or at least so it seems to me. Am I missing something?
However, that item is not updated correctly... I believe instead of the ATK bonus, it has "Sharpshooting 1" as its worn effect. Nice item for rogues and rangers.
The trigger is "a slumbering beast" which spawns in the pit in the southwest part of Bloodfields.
To trigger Gazz the Gargantuan you must kill the Ikaav Dreamweavers surrounding him (three of them I think). They hit for 2k or so and aren't really anything special.
He hits for around 5k and is slowable.
When pulled he can be attacked with melee but is immune to spells.
When you see "Gazz the Gargantuan slows its gait and begins flailing muscular arms in all directions." Stop attacking because that means he is starting to rampage.
At this point he will be able to be hit by spells.
When he stops rampaging he is melee only again until the next time he rampages. This cycle repeats pretty often.
Seemingly similar to Smith Rondo he hit really hard but doesn't seem to have a lot of hitpoints (relatively).
If you fail he does regen very slowly but he will despawn after a short time and then maybe a minute later the entire event resets.
I have a few questions. Firstly he hits for 5k, does he double? Triple? or Quad? You also state he is slowable, but is immune to spells until theres a rampage message. If this is the case how do you keep a tank up when the mob is doing 5-20k dmg every few seconds?
Also, please note that the Dreamweavers will auto-aggro... As in, you pull one, and a little bit later, another charges your raid, and a little after that, the last one comes... Be ready for them or you'll regret it
When he is done rampaging there is a message that "Gazz the Gargantuan unleashes an earth shattering roar and picks up speed."
There is a slight delay in the transitions. Apparently after the above message he rampages a couple more times and then takes on a reflective sheen (spell message) before he is immune to spells again.
He's a triggered spawn, you have to wake the Slumbering Beast by killing the Ikaav Dreamweavers (Dreamscorchers... something like that) that are guarding him. When all three are dead, the Slumbering Beast despawns and Gazz spawns in his stead.
Gazz does NOT auto aggro if you're out of his range, so you can rebuff (the Ikaav dispel) before engaging.
I realize it's probly a dumb question, but I am still learning which mobs are which here in OOW. With a hit potential of 4-5k it likely is a raid target, however I am asking....Raid target or groupable? If it was a raid takedown, how many did it take and of what type of equipped force was it; ie, time geared, elemental, Qvic, etc?
the axe rotted actuly but, he droped some 1hs axe for our raid yesterday and the dreamweaver stick. anyhow the axe was something like 20/20 but thats all i can remember.
You have to cast the spells when he is rampaging and melee when he isn't. He reflects spells when he is not rampaging. It is an AE ramp and he hits for around 4-5k.
