UPDATE: better way to pull this guy... Go behind the building and creep up to the wall approx on the opposite side of where he stands inside. He will aggro with one add.
The usual strat for killing these medallion droppers is to do a lot of clearing, and trying to do it fast to avoid respawns.
Here's how I did it to avoid all that slaughter!
He's always in the corner of his building with 3 adds close enough to aggro. Creep up to the door and tag him with a non-damage spell. Snare is fine altho, unfortunately, he's immune. He will come along with the three adds. Sometimes you might get an add or two from a neighboring building.
Run them all around the nearby forest and ensnare any of the adds. This spell will land on some. Others are highly resistant and it just won't land. That's OK. You just want to run some distance away from their spawn points.
Now get yourself CoH'd. (Did I mention this strat requires a mage? So make friends with one, or make one.) Absent a mage, evac might work but that takes a bit longer and the target may amble back to his spawn point before you can do the following.
As soon as you land rush back and find Faruek. He's unsnared so he will be sauntering slowly back to his house, along with any of his unsnared buddies. They usually are separated a bit due to all the running around. Harmonize the adds to lower their assist aggro range. Then tag Faruek and run him back to the group. He should come alone, or maybe with one add. You can root/snare the add, or if it resists, have your enchanter mez it. They mez easily. (Did I mention this strat can benefit from an enchanter in the group?)
Then just beat the mini-boss down. The adds he summons cause players concern but they are ridiculously low in HPs and will die to damage shields so make sure to DS your group.
Loot your medallions and move on the next medallion dropper.
