TLP Mangler (2-3 group fight)

So, our experience on TLP Mangler is that I wouldn't do this fight with less than 2 groups but 3 to feel safe unless everyone is GoD+ geared. He hits pretty hard (2k or so), the knockback can be annoying (I'd pull him into the room the stairwell is in and back everyone up against the wall), and the FD is also frustrating. He's very magic resistant. With Tash + Mala the only thing I saw landing was druid swarm dots. I tried landing Desolate Deeds about a dozen times and never had any luck. Bring melee DPS to make the fight easier.

He doesn't see invisible.

He's at the top level of the spire in the middle of the zone. When you get to the top of the spiral stairs and exit the door he is just on the left.

Just love how they put so many npcs in the game that are 100% immune to caster dps. Well went in lvl 80 634 AA with app5 healer merc. Didn't do so hot since the only DPS I could do as a mage was my pet and host of elements. my AA malo landed first try but none of my nukes would land (fire or magic). I wonder if melee have this problem when doing their epic 1.5, npcs that can't be hurt by melee attacks? Came back with a 76 warrior and had no problems.

87 Mage, Silver account, 1000 AA, standard gear.

Soloed this with 86 pet and a merc.
Pet barely taking any damage, merc was nearly on full mana at end too, I just stood beside the door to the tower and let Fluffy get on with it.
Threw in one nuke at end to get a smidgen of xp from green mob.
I suspect that an 81 pet could do similar solo.

Was able to take this guy down as a lvl 71 mag and lvl 76 mag and two mercs. The mercs were almost oom though, but it wasn't too bad of a fight. We just nuked and chained RS-type pets and the mercs healed.

Just clear the shadows first and then have the mage that needs to trigger the quest zone in. You can stand at the building if you keep lev up.

82 Mage, Cleric Merc (T2), and my petS soloed this easily, piece of cake.
The trick is to stay inside the room at top of tower, and once you get aggro you can fight it through the walls - nukes, pets and all. Absolutely no Knock Back off the platform. Some stuns was all. About 5 min fight
Not too bad

My 77 mage duo'd this with T3 merc healer. Mage has only 235 aa; most of which are pet aa's up to that lvl. Mage has 13.8k hp and 12.5k mana. My mage is definitely not all uberfied lol. Earth ele resisted most of my spells, so I ran out of mana fairly quicc. Pet did most of the work on ele while I sat and med'd up. Merc still had about 20% mana left when ele died. I didnt have to clear all of the shades; just the ones that were inbetween me and the ele. All in all not a bad fight at all.

So far I have solo'd the epic up to this point. I have Fire, Air, and Water Ele's left to kill. I would have water Ele dead, but I accidentally fed the Burrower meat to my pet instead of giving to Margle. Waiting on petition now to see if I can get the meat back. GL to the rest who try this as stated its not to bad.

I helped some friends take him down and discovered that Headshot works on this mob. I was at rank 13, so I dont know what min rank is required, but 3 procs and he was down. Fight lasted less than 30 sec.

Did this fight for my baby Mage. 84 Ranger with HS 12 and a very easy fight. I just put my back up to the Spire because earlier attempt I got blown off platform and died from the fall.

Hope the rest of these fights are HS able also.

Mage and I (on my Cleric) went to go take this thing down for a friend.
I ended up doing nothing as the 85 decently geared mage took this mob down.
Easy enough, it's a 1.5.
trio'd
# Dec 07 2008 at 10:57 AM Rating: Decent
This mob was trio's with the pets of 2 lvl 75 mages with an 80 shaman. (Go Reviak!!)

You must time your pet casting to just as your pet dies (which means constantly keeping a pet on attack with this mob). If you decide to stand toe to toe expect to be flung 1000' or so, which means OFF THE PLATFORM it is on and you have to run all the way through the building, climb the stairway and back to engage. Where as pets only go a little bit away from it and can immediately engage again. Don't heal them , don't gear them up, just spam cast pets. If you have 3 or more pets yours will survive long enough to do some damage. The object is to have at least 2 pets working it at all times, that will give whom ever need to bring another pet time enough between pet dies. Nothing special, just spam pets with NO GEAR or BUFFS....

Fight took about 10 mins.. more of a mana fight (constantly casting pets)then anything.

Good Luck

Just Solo'd or duo'd if you would like to call it that with a 76 mage and jernyman cleric merc. Merc was basicaly OOM for 65% of the fight but he got a heal in now and then when he had the mana. Sent pet in on the elementals left in order to turn him so i could shift around twards his back and avoid the knock back. Fight went very smooth, used short term DS and granit stance on pet as often as i could. Fight lasted about 12 mins, if that. Mage is sitting at 13k mana unbuffed and has around 150AAs mostly in pet. It was a lot of fun. good luck to you other mages on your way to your 1.5.

PS. Spire Servant pet focus.

Still resists spells
# Aug 22 2008 at 5:56 PM Rating: Decent
He is still resistant when you cast on him, but you can do damage to him if you keep on it...

Killed with raid of 8...

79 Warrior - Died in fight
74 Warrior - Died in fight
72 Cleric - Died in fight
71 Magician
72 Enchanter
75 Paladin
62 Druid
80 Wizard

Most of the characters we geared with CoA. The Wizard was geared with AG/FC and Solteris gear.

We faced him against the wall so he only punted a couple folks off the platform. The mage would CoH them back for the fight.
Took him down with 2 mage pets
# Apr 10 2008 at 2:58 PM Rating: Decent
Took this guy down last night with two 76 Mage Airpets fully buffed up and new pet toys. Cleric kept pets healed thru the fight. Shammie was back up healer incase cleric ran outa of mana. Trick to this fight is face him from the edge of the platform to his right where he spawns. You can stand out of his AOE range and sit back and let pets tank. Took about 15 minutes to have pets burn him down. Was fun.

Guild just helped me take him down tonight, had 9 people me boxing 3. No one died even though we only had 1 cleric. had 75war 75sk and 74war for tanks with 75clr keeping them alive in 1 group. Second group had 75mage 75nec 75wiz 75beast 65shm. I was boxing mage/necro/shaman Shammy was just along to ATTEMP to slow, which never did land, tried magic, disease and area slow a few times each. Resisted Malosinise rkII 4 times and gave up. Fight didn't last long at all. Shammy didn't do anything, necro tossed pet and 2 of his highest dots in, mage got like 4 nukes off and he was dead. I've got the fire and air fights left is all and I'll have my epic 1.5 :)

PS Chest spawned and had "Golden Stone Orb" in it

Down with 8
# Dec 13 2006 at 6:51 PM Rating: Decent
Killed with 8 people two monks, two clerics, warrior, shaman, druid, berserker. Monks were anguish geared and 14k'ish hp unbuffed, warrior was slightly less. Zerker died at 95%. Hard fight but doable without a ton of people.
New Pet aggro scheme
# Sep 20 2006 at 11:21 AM Rating: Decent
With the new pet aggro scheme, is this mob going to be killable the same way? Or as soon as a pet pops are we going to get summoned and squished despite other pets being on him?

that epic keeps moving further and further...
real right up on earth essence
# Aug 12 2006 at 7:59 AM Rating: Decent
never seen this happen with 3 or 6 peeple.....
really starting to think alot of you on here brag about things...... make it really hard for others;;;;;;
you definitely need a raid force of atleast 12 pet classes .... keep the elemental essence back up far enough not to get dd process .... do not heal pets do not buff pets nothing but chain pet..... and you need enough pet classes to keep him busy while you chain pet... if he runs out of pets he summons the agro lest starting wtih the ones casting the pets.... you bring people to watch and handle adds and clerics to only rez the ones who get summoned.... do not have the clerics heal the people chain petting or they well get on the aggro list........only rez .... seen this fight take about 30 to 45 mins to complete bring pleanty of summoning regenants for the casters you will so need it lmao.....or have the right aa... but enough palavier.... on with the showww.. and start posting realistically on here please...........your getting people killed with your tales of uberness....
Mage group..
# Jul 31 2006 at 2:06 AM Rating: Decent
This mob is alot easier then i thought, I just picked up mages, beastlords and necros 66+ ..my gf played her cleric with us (for rezs if needed, spell haste etc). We had like 8 pet classes.
It was a very easy kill using chain petting, took us around 15min to make him dead (maybe less).
Simply let everyone in the group/mini-raid know a few simple rules:
Dont nuke, dont buff and ofcourse dont Heal..

The truth is you most likely dont get aggro from nuking once or twice and I certainly hasted my pets a few times .. but never hurts to be careful.

last tip that already was mentioned, Raging Servent rocks there....if you got it, use it..

GL guys!

This mob can be trio'd in 25-30min with 3 mages. Chain cast 66 air pet or 70 earth pet with 70 raging servent if mana's good. At around 10% start to chain cast RS and you'll win with no problem.

Sent picture to Illia. Nothing special, hes a huge Earth Elemental. Doesnt see invis.

His 6k DD/Feign Death can be avoided. There is an emote (will reply in a few what it actually says) that pretty much says "sand and earth are forming around you". Means move your *** before your buried.
---------------Update------------------

Tried with CoA Paladin, Beastlord and Monk. All 2.0'd. Mage (me), Time/OoW geared Shaman and Cleric, EP Druid. Was able to bring him down to 43% before we all died. Boxing both my mage and the shaman (Paladin boxing Cleric and Beastlord too), I malos'd him, and then tried to slow. He resisted everything i threw at him....but I didnt not get a message that he was immune to slow. So big resists. Quite a bit of hp, expect a long fight.

Need to constantly keep an eye out for the Emote, it appears in yellow. Dealt 5700 to me and my friends, every time. Procs the stun often, the dispell/knockback rarely (once at beginning tho). Good Luck for those who are trying!
