Avhi Escron is the second of six NPCs you need to kill in a cycle for the Bertoxxulous flag.

Spawns following the death of Carprin Deatharn.

Upon his death, Bishop Toluwon will spawn.

FYI...he is now fully magic slowable as are most other named fought during the Carpin cycle. Did him this weekend in a PU raid. I was primary slower with my 66 shammy and had no trouble slowing these guys as long as they are sufficiently debuffed.

I don't see why everyone has so much trouble. First only a few Reanimated Reavers spawn when someone dies not 100+ and second, if you know this, be prepared for the adds. Have a group of chanter's there specifically for mezzing the Reavers when they pop. Did the event in a pick-up raid the other night and by the time Avhi was dead there were a dozen or more Reavers. We had them all mezzed and just at our leisure picked them off one by one and moved on.

ummm tell me 1 person dies, the mt lets say, thats 4 skellies spawned, then the mob gets 2 more before a new gets agro and a chain on him thats 12 skellies in a small room with 40+ people, and those skellies hit for 600's so if they get the casters first you can be talking about 40+ mobs fairly quick that all hit for 600, maybe you can't see why cause you have never done it

What he's saying is that if you're prepared to handle the adds that spawn, then there shouldn't be a problem.

If the MT goes down, and your enchanters can't mezz the adds, and your backup tanks can't get aggro, and your healers can't efficiently switch tanks... then yes, you're looking at a lot of deaths and possibly 100+ skelles.

But if you're prepared for this, and your classes can do their jobs well, there shouldn't be a problem. It's not like there's an AoE that the healers need to worry about as well.

Just for the record, it isnt just people dying, he spawns more pets under the following conditions:

i) Someone dies
ii) a Pet Dies
iii) Someone FD's
iv) Someone mem blurs/atones (i believe more spawn on this one but not positive)

Can be a tough fight if people start dropping, NO PETS should be used for this fight as once the add's start coming things can get wildly out of hand. Best thing to do imo is use the Agnarr strat. Have MT keep Avhi's attention while rest of the raid kills the adds if someone/pet dies. Could this one of those mobs where zerging mite be acceptable??

Other notes about him:
i) Summons
ii) Rampages quite frequently
iii) Unslowable (to my knowledge)
iv) 4 mobs spawn whenever someone/pet dies (these guys are just annoying fookers, watch out for em)


O and just wanted to add that he dropped the Band of Flayed Flesh for us

Was going thru Caprin cycle and this guy was next encounter after Caprin. Just bad luck that he was up?
Raid leader had all pets removed and instructions to not use Feign Death at all.
MA went down when Avhi was at 3pct but we got him killed. However that one death resulted in chain spawning of Reanimated Reveavers x 100+. Wiped the raid and ended chance to complete cycle (not enough time to finish other mobs).

Reanimated Reavers that spawned started to despawn about 10 minutes before corpses popped in GY.

It was the same for us yesterday. At first I thought he was the 2nd mob of the circle. When he died about 8 Reanimated Reavers spawned and we made the mistake to kill them instead of training them to the previous room. Soon we had 100+ Reavers on our sorry asses.

Keep in mind to spawn more pets, he doesn't have to kill people, but just people have to die.

Anywhere in the zone.

So if someone in that group exping at zone in dies, you get 4 more skeletons.

Sucks.

Melee is close to 1800 per hit and I think it's a triple attack. He is unslowable, and rampages often.

When he spawns, he will have 4 skeleton pets. Once he is aggroed, for each person that dies, he gains 4 more pets. Once someone dies, the pets start spawning and multiply exponentially.

My guild killed this guy, but right at the end someone died, then it went downhill... At the CR someone counted 137 skelletons on track.
