"Corruption" is cast every 30 seconds; buffs self with "Deadly Mist" every 40 seconds (gives it "Mist Burn" proc -- 30' range defensive AE proc); "Desperate Throw" is cast every 50 seconds.
For the "Desperate Throw" effect, anyone standing more than 75' range away will receive the spell's full damage. Anyone within that same range will only take a nuke for 1 hitpoint.

Casting spells and arrows is fine. But do not attack when the ds is up. It is a defensive process for 32-50k AE DMG.
Place Holder is "an experimenter" and there are 4 of them in the designated building.

If using pets, make sure to back off when he self-buffs w/ Deadly Mist, otherwise u trigger Mist Burn - 50k AE DD - pet/tank wont last long. Otherwise, he just has a ton of HP's (~8.25mil). Used JUST Mage Earth pet for fight below. After we got the timing down for the DS, pet didnt drop below 80%.
100 mage, 2 x 100 Necro, 2 healer mercs on Reactive, 97 Monk.

The key to this fight is the Mist Burn effect it uses. When this is on, have the tank stop attacking. I also stopped nuking and focused on just helping the tank live. When Mist Burn faded, everyone attacked and nuked hard. Made this fight a cinch. This was a 100 mage with earth pet tanking, 100 druid, and 97 bard, 3 healer mercs for those wanting details.
For mage tactics, when Mist Burn was up, I had Pet Stop, then ordered it to attack again when it faded. With Mist Burn up, I just cast Aegis, Groundswell, and Auspice til I could start nuking again. Improved Twincast lasted the whole fight.
For the record, an experimenter was the PHer for the one spawn so far.

The game update of May 14 implemented some changes to Mistwielder's abilities. The Corruption effect is no longer PBAE, its now single target, and the DoT damage was cut in half -- was 60k per tick, now only 30k per tick. Very doable encounter, now.
some of the tier 3 mobs are simply ridiculous overpowered even at lvl100. If there is the need of a full top RoF Raid-Group to get simple Tier 3 Group Armor which has lower stats than the most simple Raid Gear than something goes really wrong with the Balance of that part of the expansion.....
I looked at the damage I took, it doesn't add up. Can't even figure out what to do different because I don't know what's killing me. Yeah, the DoT is 39k/tick, but I have group heals with the paly, Maybe i'm trying to pull it too far.

This mob will wreck you. Do not underestimate it. Took a 100 sham, 100 bard, 100 mage, 2 cleric mercs and a wiz merc.. Best we did was get it down to 85%. Whatever AE it does is just about an insta kill for my whole box crew.
