SOE Login Server Issues

UPDATE: Players have now been able to login through Launchpad 1 (original game launchers) and the Streaming Launcher (EQ2/EQ2X). Station Launcher was lagging behind the other clients but is now allowing players to login.

EverQuest Online Adventures is still not up at this time. From an announcement on their forums:

Unfortunately, EverQuest Online Adventures will not be coming online just yet. We are working on returning the service as quickly as possible. Station Account subscription time will be extended accordingly.

Sony Online Entertainment's login servers are throwing off a wide variety of errors today to those attempting to login. Amongst the errors players have seen:

  • This account is for an underage user. You are not old enough to access the game.
  • The server has encountered an internal error that prevented it from fulfilling the request.
  • Error: The operation has timed out.
  • Login attempt has failed: Unknown error.

These issues are currently being looked into, as reported by TSR-JoshuaM:

We are currently looking in to what is causing the underaged user error for our players.  This is happening for my own accounts here in the office as well.  I apologize greatly for the inconvenience and we'll have it sorted as soon as possible.  I will post any updates to this right here.

I've had no problem logging in or playing since servers have been back up. I created a new email address, reset passwords, updated account info, and everything's been smooth.
Absurd
# May 16 2011 at 8:24 AM Rating: Decent
We wait nearly two weeks, they finally get the servers back up. Log in play for a while. This morning I get "account user is not old enough to access this game". Try logging in to account to open a service ticket. Can't do that either. Try to post on the forums, can't do that either.

The game is no longer available for people to play when they want to. This crap may never end. SoE is a terrible organization.

For the record, my account is already cancelled. Just trying to play out the time that I paid for in advance. They obviously won't allow that, because there are homeless bums who run a business better than SoE.

FIX THIS LOGIN BULLSH*T ALREADY! We have waited long enough for you SOE tools to get your act together. This company is quickly becoming the joke of the business world. Get off your a$$es and get EQ2 running already!!!

Yesterday when servers came up I changed my password. Today its invalid.
Still cannot reset my password
# May 15 2011 at 1:46 PM Rating: Decent
I was able to get my Alt account up and running (LaunchPad is updating now), but I cannot even reset my password for my Main.
I did the "email your password reset" thing, but it took 18 hours for the email to show up. When I click the link in the email to reset my Password I get the following error:

Quote:
ERROR!

We have encountered a system error while processing your request.

Please try again later.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

If you continue to encounter this error, please contact Customer Service at http://support.station.sony.com

Gah!
Been going on for an hour now.

Anyone else having this issue, or is it just me?

EQ Test Server
# May 15 2011 at 10:55 AM Rating: Decent
Been logged into EQ Test Server since last night.
Everthing seems to be working so far but 1 thing.

Sony has given every account 2500 station cash to buy stuff at the
Marketplace, however, you can't buy anything as of yet. A new Wurm Mount I want to purchase too (grin)

45 Days (Non-Reoccuring)of subscription time for ALL accounts.

Plus the double XP till May 22. (I believe)

Anway, if at any time in the past, you had made a copy to Test Server,
you could always log in there for a bit till Live is up and running.

Haven't read any major complaints in General.

Welcome Back Everyone.
PC Player cannot log in??

Log On Screen stills shows all servers down. I have updated my password, but keep getting this message;

There was a problem decompressing the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\EverQuest II\lp_temp\LegendsOfNorrath\LegendsOfNorrath.dll_delta_10509_126.gz.

Station launcher will try again after 5 seconds.

Find and delete the Legends of Norrath dll file in your EQ2 directory. That should clear up the issue. :)

I passed on the info, hopefully it can be resolved. I'm assuming you remembered to go through the initial password reset yesterday or this morning before trying to login?

Yup, logged onto station last night and changed my password. I get the message "Could not connect to the network. Please verify that your network connection is intact. If the problem persists, return to network setup and try again".

Login Error?
# May 15 2011 at 8:48 AM Rating: Decent
Well, It was nice to get in and play for a couple hours last night/early this norning. I made a couple levels and had fun playing. I even found a guild that has people on that play. I tried to log on this morning and found the errors during login. I thought it was because I did maintainence on my PC when I logged off. I'm glad to see it isn't just me. I doubt that SOE reps will ever read this. I also know that you just cant make some people happy. I think Sony has done a good job with the mess that was handed to them. The "Welcome Back" campain is commendable. It is costing Sony millions of dollars to do this. I for one appreciate their effort. The last time my bank had computer problems their attitude was " oops sorry, deal with it" which is far better than the local government having computer issues and taking the stance that the burden of proof was on me (guilty untill proven innocent, That's why we keep our tax paperwork lol) I know that all I am "entitled" to have is compnsation for the time that I payed for and was unable to use the service. Good job sony.
I will be glad when all of the bugs are worked out and service is restored completely. I also understand that issues take time to be addressed properly. Untill everything is worked out,(hopefully today) I will follow through with the normal plans for today. My family and I will spend time together, play board games and later my son will help me grill steaks while my step-daughter helps my wife with the potatoes and salad. Mowing the yard can wait...It's too much like work for a day off. :) I hope that you all have a great day and I look forward to seeing most of you in game.

edit: Funny i was able to get on right after posting this. Maybe just too many people getting updates is all the problem was.

They need to look into EQ1 also for the same issue...would be nice to log in without seeing timed out messeges
Can login ONE of my accounts

As an update to my previous post, was able to get one of my accounts logged in, but not the others. Maybe because I stayed logged in to my account status. Will check the others and see if this makes a difference, and update here.

I had changed my Password at the prompt for the ToS, but have as yet been unable to login either. Keeps telling me "The operation timed out", similiar to what I was getting while the servers were down. Maybe they are getting DDoSed again?

Seems unlikely. The timeout is instant and will not allow logins to most. However, every other aspect of login server (minus the underage error) seems to be working as intended. Typing a wrong password triggers an INSTANT error of wrong password. DOS attack would cause a much longer timeout for both.
