I would think the normal reaction would be to start to wonder whether WaPo even bothers to check their sources at all anymore. Are we up to like 3 or 4 stories in just the last week that they got completely 100% wrong?



I'd suggest that's the exact point of the media coverage. Still waiting for something like, oh I don't know, a single actual fact to support any of this at all.



Didn't I mention something earlier this week about how the opposition will use the fact that investigations exist at all as an argument against Trump? Yeah. I'm pretty sure I did. Right on queue.

I find the outrage over the Comey firing to be particularly amusing. And the cherry picking of quotes as well. And well, cherry picking of everything. It's like you can't have multiple reasons for doing something. And multiple people who all advised the president to do that thing. At different times. Apparently, it's completely wrong for the president to think that someone should be fired, but then take the time to ask advise on the issue before doing so (seriously, the entire "OMG! Deputy AG wrote his recommendation after Trump claimed he'd already decided to fire the guy! there must be something here! We can't actually clearly state what, but if we just say it with a shocked voice on TV enough times, people will assume there must be something to this". And OMG! When we asked Trump about the Russia investigation, he said it was bogus and shouldn't even be happening, so let's pretend that's the real reason Comey was fired, and not for the more obvious one like utterly failing to keep politics out of his actions as FBI director and pissing off people in both parties along the way, and more or less making himself a liability to any investigation he might be involved in because no one can trust that anything he does *isn't* political anymore.

The most telling indicator of just how media driven this is, was the clip of Colbert telling his audience that Comey had just been fired, apparently not realizing that their reaction isn't the same as the one those inside the media echo chamber was. Instead of leaping to the whole "Trump fired him as part of a cover up", they cheered it, loudly. Way to not know your own audience. Well, that and the folks in the media like Colbert are used to dealing with an audience after they've had time to be properly "educated" on how to respond to such things by the news media. I'm sure that 24 hours later, the same subject got the proper reaction from the audience that they desired.

The point being that when not influenced by media coverage the average liberal (and lets be honest with the makeup of his audience here), is very very different than it is once that media coverage has time to tell them how they're supposed to think. Which, if one is honest and thinking, should clue you in to the concept that maybe the entire freaking thing is made up. Which, you know, it actually is.

Hilarious. By all means though, continue slavishly following the news on this. Is this where I make the same kind of prediction I made with the Plame investigation? They'll never find evidence of collusion, nor any crime directly related to the allegations. But they'll spend a couple years dragging the issue through the court of public opinion, bashing the GOP and Trump for it all the while, and in the end, the might just find some poor shmuck who makes the mistake of forgetting a date or timeline or order of events from one round of testimony to another and find himself (or herself) charged with perjury.

It's like they just assume you all aren't smart enough to see a pattern when it's right in front of you. It's the exact same tactic. Details change, but the methodology is the same. Totally media driven. Totally fabricated. Sigh...

Not trying to be a grammar guy, but I think you mean Cue. A "queue" is a line, a "cue" is a signal, prompt, or reminder.
