I find myself not playing for the last 4-5 months while subbed and that is okay. Family life has become fantastically hectic. I won't say that I won't return to EQ, but if I do it will most likely be to a new progression or event server of some sort and it probably will be a few years (gotta get past all the diapers at least...)
Meanwhile I have stuff rotting in banks and on alts on various servers. I'm not interested in trying to baz sell it all, convert to krono, etc. I'd also hate for all my stuff to do nothing for years and the game is sunsetted.
Allakhazam's has always been one of my favourite parts of the EQ experience --usually lurking these forums is what draws me back in when I have been on a break.
So I'm doing a give away to our Allakhazam family.
1. Most of my gear is on FV, Povar, and Agnarr.
2. Post in this thread the name of an alt and which server (doesn't have to be a main --I know many like to keep forum identity and in-game identity separate) on one of those servers listed above. State a class preference if you have one. Most of what I have is low alt fun things. Some of the FV stuff is more unusual --one no longer drop GM item of minimal use if I can find it... Almost none of this stuff is going to dazzle a level 100 character.
3. I will look back at this thread in about a week and start parceling stuff out.
If I come back, you keep my stuff. No strings attached. Have fun.

It's been awhile! [we were guildies in a guild started on these forums --for anyone else reading this]
Vuggy and Zendro have some mail.
Not sure if you have a necro on FV... but get one to 65 and they will be very well equipped... by 68 nearly all the toys (clickies and such) will start working. You can solo like mad efficiency with all those clicks 68-75ish. Probably want/get better gear to wear 76+ ---but clicky dots and nukes with the current hotbars are just a great thing to keep in a bag in my view.
Also... remember to look at the augments (especially if not keeping stuff as-is for a necro or int caster). Most of what I sent you was my retired main's gear on FV --so the best of what I had done there.
I'll check back in the thread. This was just one character and part of the shared bank, if no one else posts you will have a lot of parcels...

When I first started EQ, the first two classes I played were Paladin and Necromancer. I have not really played a Necro much since then, so decided to start a new one on FV. Female Dark Elf named Miercuri (Romanian for Wednesday).
I logged all my other chars to see what I had to equip her, but when trying to reload her my client crashes. Can't play more today, but if anyone has any suggestions to try, I'm all ears!

It's so EASY to retire from EQ. I've done it lots of times.
KC13, reboot your computer and force EQ to patch the client. When that happens to me usually it's an out-of-date UI causing the problem.
Also about retiring, what still makes me chuckle almost every time is when a guildie used to log in and rant and rave over some perceived slight or problem, building themselves up into a massive rage and then threatening to rage quit---or worse---and invariably the next comment in guildchat would be from "some_random_guidie_01:

I think maybe some format changed while I was away. I created the char, then on logging in I copied the layout of an older char of the same class. Logged out, then on logging back in, the client crashed. I tried several things, but finally what worked was to delete the charname_server.ini and the UI_charname etc.ini, then copy and rename the same files from the older char. ''the only difference I saw was that there was only a single chat window on the new char as opposed to two on older chars. The newer window was also tabbed.while the older ones weren't. In any case, I can now load the new char.

Yes, one of the predictable EQ things that gets said.
I liked the irony of not being upset about anything at all with the game but answer that old question with... "why yes you can have my stuff."

Snailish, that was very kind and I'm touched. Neat stuff. The blued two-handed hammer, for some reason I wanted that years ago. I wonder if the proc used to be at level 1 as this would have been great in the hands of a PLee toon.

Finally acquired said MEMORY, after trying since Luclin went live. That's a long time!
I've been visiting SSRA at least once a month for years trying to find the key trigger mob up to start the Cursed Cycle. Unfortunately on FV there appears to be someone camping the zone 24/7 and probably waiting for the spawn. There is always an anon toon named FIND in the zone. I'm guessing a ranger, probably for max tracking. I went there a few days ago, The 6-day trigger spawn, Rhozth Rakezh, is not up but the other 9 trigger are. The only other toon in the zone is the aforementioned FIND. So disappointed once again, I ported back to PoK.
Many a time I've then checked the Bazaar on the unlikely chance someone has posted one on sale, seeing how the item is tradeable on FV.
Lo and Behold, someone has posted one up... and for the truly bargain price of 28,000 platinum pieces!
Hands trembling nervously, I clicked BUY and shortly thereafter heard the ka-ching as my money got expended to acquire said "very rare" item.
My enchanter Claere is now a very happy high elf. I have to test and make sure the effect works on high level mobs. I see no indication that it does NOT. But either way it's a rare item I've lusted for over more than 15 years. OK, maybe not every waking moment, but certainly at least once a month when I visit SSRA.
In case anyone is wondering, is 28K really a bargain?
Well, I would have paid 5 million plat for one, and I've offered that and been turned down at least once. The only time I ran into another player who owned this time.
